"Quirky but in a good way. The receptionist correctly confirmed that my booking was for a standard double room, so when I opened the door I was amazed to find a huge room with two double beds and a single and enough empty floor space for another three doubles. My amazement continued when I walked into the bathroom (again huge) with two large spa baths (I later tried one - very relaxing). The site has a lot of history having been a country house, home of a German princess, Jesuit retreat and an RAF leadership school. Set in several acres of grounds which also made for a pleasant walk after an enjoyable dinner. I’ve sometimes paid more for a Premier Inn or Travelodge."

"I stayed at the premier inn at St helens for the may bank holiday,I have stayed in quite a few different premier inns over the years,and I have to say I think the st Helens premier inn is one of the best that ive stayed in.I was in a newly refurbished room which was very nice,it was air conditioned which was an absolute bonus as the may bank holiday was forecast as the hottest ever recorded.The staff who I spoke to were all very friendly and helpful,I loved the restaurant and bar too,they call it the social.I had breakfast and dinner in there for both days of my stay,and it was absolutely perfect,the Heineken beer was spot on as well,nice and cold.I really enjoyed my 2 day stay at st helens premier inn,hopefully I will go again someday,I highly recommend this premier inn to everyone,many thanks."

"It was a long trip from Southampton and all I need was a bath to soak away the fatigue and a good wash but the room allocated was shower only. Lisa at the front desk was angel descended from heaven as she went above and beyond to get me a room with a bath. Lisa deserves a medal and pay rise.
