Econolodge Prince George Omgosh what a horrible mistake! Having to spend only 12 hours in Prince George, we decided to save some money by staying in a newly renovated suite at the Econolodge. The reviews on Google are good and there was only one review on trip advisor before mine. When we were closer to the hotel I mentioned to my family that maybe this wasn't a great part of town to stay in. But the lady at the hotel assured me when I booked the room that the vehicle would be safe because they have 24 hour surveillance. When we pulled onto the parking lot, the motel lobby and stairs beside it were blocked off with a bunch of police tape and there were some police vehicles around and in the tiny parking lot. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Someone had been attacked here, it looked like a murder scene. My first instinct was to stay somewhere else but my husband said the crime had already happened and the police were there so we would be safe. I reluctantly took the room as it was on the other side of the motel and it was so late and we were so tired from our trip. The lady that checked us is was pleasant and professional even though you could tell she had just experienced something so scary. She calmly explained that someone came to the hotel and had an altercation with a guest that was staying there. It wasn't a random attack and they were all gone now. Upon entering the suite I was surprised how nice it looked! Everything was updated looking. Traveling with pets, it's the best when there's a hard floor and this part of the motel was beautifully renovated!! Kudos to the company that did the renos here. We settled in and went straight to sleep. The ac unit in the room was loud enough to block out whatever was happening at the crime scene outside. I could see the police car was parked right outside the whole night and next morning. When I woke up in the morning and went to make coffee, I noticed the inside of the coffee maker, where the water goes was greasy. The 2 coffee cups weren't wrapped at all and the lids didn't even fit the cups? There was a sticky sauce all over the little packages of sugar/stirsticks. I threw them in the garbage. No coffee for me, and went to have a shower. I noticed the shower curtain was absolutely filthy. I wondered when the last time it had been washed. It had multiple different stains on it. The shower had so little pressure it took me forever to wash my hair. I'm so glad I brought my own hair products to use. When I went to grab a towel I noticed the towels weren't clean either. I couldn't tell that they were washed, some if them had yellow on them and some had surface marks on them. My skin started to crawl. When my son was in the bathroom I pulled open the sheets on his bed just to see if they were actually clean and that's when I was absolutely mortified to see that the other side of the bed, where he didn't sleep, had pee stains!! I went over to our bed and same thing! Our sheets were filthy inside. I

Prince George|2.2km from city centre
Prince George offers a lot of accommodations - but we went with this motel as it is centrally located and near the highway for our road trip. The exterior of the hotel is clean and simple - nothing much changed. However, the interior rooms have been renovated much to our delight. The decors and the washrooms have been upgraded. The furnishings are also generous - a sink, microwave, small fridge, coffee maker, small dining table, extra chair, office desk, and chair and even a little table- besides the bed and the night tables. The wifi and cable services were pretty reliable and helped us pass the time away easily. The bathroom is decent, and I should say the shower is quite relaxing with the proper shower head setting. I took two showers in this room, as it was really relaxing - the misty pressure of the water is good for those sore backs and shoulders. The beds were comfortable along with the pillows. We had a good night's sleep and awoke refreshed and ready to complete the rest of our road trip to Vancouver. The only thing is the parking on this location - it can be packed and it becomes a challenge to find a spot when all the spots are already taken. When we came back from dinner - we were lucky to find a parking spot amidst the taken ones. If the motel is full, you can expect to park out on the street, which might not be the most convenient of options. Overall, we would stay here again because it was cozy and the price was right, but we will always be wary about the parking space.

Second time around at this hotel. It was alright. It’s always clean and spacious. The front desk is always underwhelming as far as greetings and suggestions for around town goes. I was annoyed when I got into the room and realized we had no robes for the pool. I called down and ask about it and they said they might have some in the back. They called back and said they had one. I told them not to worry about it. We then got down to the pool and other people were wearing hotel robes… I was annoyed. I also had requested a city view months ago and was given a view of the roof. It’s a nice hotel but definitely doesn’t go above and beyond. It would also be nice if the restaurant was open for dinner on weekends…

We had a wonderful stay at the Treasure Cove Prestige. Our room had a lovely little mudroom area that was perfect for storing our muddy gear without worrying about messing up the carpets, and there was loads of storage for all our things! The shower was big and had good water pressure and our bed was clean, perfectly firm and had lots of plugs available around it. There were also so many pillows it was perfect. We had the newly offered continental breakfast which was a perfect way to start the day, and we had drinks at the Grand Trunk bar in the evening which were ridiculously good and cheap at happy hour.

Four Points by Sheraton Prince George
4.2/5102 Reviews
Considering I had spent the previous night camped in my tent next to my vehicle in a roadside pull-out in the middle of the Stewart-Cassiar Highway due to a closure of the Alaska Highway that caused all campgrounds and hotels along the highway to be fully booked, my stay at the Four Points was like slipping back into the lap of luxury, and the modern world. Parking was easy, the lobby was nice (and smelled great, I would love to know if that's a cleaning agent or some kind of scent), the check-in was fast, the room was big, modern, clean, and appointed with everything you could ask for. Slept like a baby. Would definitely stay here again.
