I've got a few minor nits with this place (pillows too big to be usable, couldn't turn off the porch light, my tom yum soup should have been more substantial). But over all this is an excellent choice on Bromo. The main caldera observation point is just 5 minute walk from the hotel, and you can hike from here around the caldera or down to the floor. The breakfast is worth the cost. The staff are excellent. And the rooms are new and comfortable. If you can afford it, book with confidence.

The location is on the edge of a large caldera, Bromo and Batok are clearly visible. The rooms are small, very cold at night, it was about +10 degrees. There are 2 blankets, but the bed linen is only a sheet, washed out or worn out in color. Perhaps it is not changed often. Breakfasts are a choice from the menu, they were cooked well. By and large, people go for one, maximum two nights, to see the volcanoes, and do not pay much attention to everyday life. One of the advantages is the location with a view of the volcanoes. In the line between the hotel territory and the adjacent building, there is an almost invisible entrance to the path down to the caldera, passing the payment post. I myself did not go down the path, but I saw how locals go there with horses. To visit the volcano, we hired motorcyclists, hitting the street in the morning, but you can also hire transport through the hotel.

This was a nice place to stay but it should be made clear that this hotel is BEYOND the National park checkpoint and not before it, therefore the fee is payable as you arrive. We only visited the Bromo viewpoint, not the crater, so shouldn’t have had to pay the National park fee, but because this hotel is beyond the check point, it means you have to, so hotel should only really be used if plan to go to the crater but for someone who only plans to go to the viewpoint for sunrise, it is not the best location for this due to the National park fee. But other than this, the lodge was clean and had a restaurant and was relatively easy to navigate to the viewpoint from here

Bromo Permai 1, the best location I can recommend. Nice view with Mt. Bormo / Mt Blatok / Mt Semeru. Friendly staff. Nice food served. Overall, the best. 👍

If the price of a B&B near Broma volcano is not high, be mentally prepared for very average conditions, especially in the early morning. You need to walk to the village to get a motorcycle, which is really difficult to walk.
