Suymar Ecolodge Galapagos

Lovely family run hotel! Everybody goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at home. The lovely family who runs the hotel are so helpful! The dad helped me book all tours and transportation in the Galapagos Islands. The mum is and amazing cook and provided me with the best meals I have had on the islands! As a solo female traveller I can not recommended this place enough, I have felt totally safe and comfortable! The location is a little bit out of the city centre but it makes for a perfect place to start or finish your tour of the Galapagos Islands, a very calm and quiet hotel in a beautiful location!

We had a lovely night at the lodge. It was a family run hotel who made us feel so welcome. The bed was huge and comfortable, the family were on hand for absolutely anything. They even came running out with umbrellas as we headed out for a walk in the rain. The food was fresh and delicious. Breakfast was served outside our room on the veranda, which was fantastic and quite simply the best omelette I have ever tasted. We arranged a pick up from the pier, which was provided at a very reasonable cost.

This is a place to enjoy nature, wake up in the morning and listen the famous Darwin's finches fluttering around the ample gardens with a nice cup of freshly brewed Galapagos coffee. The location is 5 minutes walk from Bellavista, which is 10 minutes drive from the bustling town of Puerto Ayora, yet, feels very close. The property is 600 ft ASL aprox. The Staff from Suymar is very friendly and accommodating to us guests. Providing info to all different sites in Santa Cruz Is. If you would like to see the giant tortoises, you are 15 minutes drive from there! Taxis for 4 people max will take you there. Delicious breakfast is served (not just a continental one!) Upon request dinners can be made, delicious ones at a very affordable rate! Highly recommended. Galapagos is a Tech-detox place :)

Family running the hotel were very nice and it’s in a nice quiet area. The hotel owner can drop you off/pick you up at Puerto Ayora and from the boat pier.

Venicio is kind and this hotel has service Do not overlook staying in Bella Vista because you want to explore Puerto Ayora. I recommend you stay part time in both. Bella Vista is for if you want to experience something more local and I highly recommend that. I traveled solo and it was a perfect time for some quiet. Puerto Ayora is a short car ride away. You can also walk outside the hotel to the little park or on the walking trail which I recommend and and it’s very safe since it’s just walking in a country road. The locals are extremely nice. Venicio also tells you what each meal is and if the meal is common among locals. This was an amazing hotel to stay at in Bella Vista. Venicio was AMAZING. I recommend going during the week day so that you have more space to yourself. That’s what I did and it was wonderful. This lodge includes all meals (at an extra cost), taxi service (depending on availability and at an extra cost). Meals and taxi were at a reasonable price so I suggest you tip well because the service is excellent! It’s truly staying in a more local part of Santa Cruz, if you want to be away from the tourist side for a bit as well. Gorgeous rooms with lots of space.

We went on group trip with 10 people to The Galapagos the first week of December 2023. Our stay at the Suymar Ecolodge was amazing. The family is so friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the rooms were quaint and clean. The location is a short walk to the small town where you get a feel for the local life and a short and inexpensive taxi ride to the port to take the boats to the other islands. I would highly recommend.

This was an absolutely beautiful place, the family took care of every need, no matter how much coffee we drank, every thing was perfect . The family is beautiful and kind. Our entire group was treated like family❤️ would def stay here again❤️❤️

An absolutely beautiful gem of a place, just a short taxi ride from Puerto Ayora. The owner is an artist whose murals and mosaics make everything colorful and beautiful. The rooms are comfortable, and the food was delicious. Service was excellent - they went out of their way to arrange a taxi to meet me when I got off the ferry from Baltra.
