Royal Marina Suites Boutique Hotel

The Royal Marina Suites in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote is a unique, adult only, boutique hotel which I would highly recommend to the discerning guest. The 26 suites, all of which have magnificent sea views over the entrance to the marina, are luxuriously appointed. The bathroom/wet rooms are spacious and well equipped and the large private terraces have their own sun beds, table and chairs. There is no need to get up at dawn to put your towel out to reserve a sun bed by the pool as there are ample top quality, upholstered sun beds and sun shades for everyone. Breakfast is a pleasure, with an excellent choice of cooked dishes served at your table as well as a buffet with a copious selection of cereals, fruits meat, cheeses and breads. The Suites are primarily bed and breakfast but it is only a short stroll along along the paved coastal path to the Puerto Calero Marina with an abundance of good restaurants and bars for an evening out. This is an exceptional, privately run, little haven in a fantastic position with extremely friendly and helpful staff.

So good we visited twice! Having visited in November for a long weekend, so impressed we booked for January before we left. IMO people make the place. The team at RMS are so good, although a relaxed management style they work as a team and compliment each other. However the hotel itself is a fantastic design, from the port hole window in the shower providing an unobstructed sea view, to the private terraces each room enjoys, the circulation areas all wafting in pleasant sandalwood. From nearly every part of the hotel a sea view is possible. The terraces are huge (appx. 36m2) all benefiting from sunlight morning to nighttime. Breakfasts should satisfy most tastes and the food served throughout the day of a good standard. Can’t recommend enough. Thank you Royal Marina Suites.

We stayed for a week at Royal Marina Suites in October, 2024. We requested an Ocean Suite on the higher of the two floors available to Ocean Suites and the request was granted (suite 203), so that was our holiday off to a good start and it just got better. Our suite was superbly appointed, a bathroom with bath and shower, a comfortable bed, a well furnished lounge area with refrigerator, mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities and had a large balcony, with sun beds, overlooking the entry point to Puerto Calero marina. Breakfasts were of high quality, served overlooking the pool area, and the small bar, adjacent to the restaurant area, served a wide range of drinks, including a local draught beer, “Nao”, which I particularly enjoyed. Best of all, though, were the people who worked at Royal Marina Suites, without exception, friendly and anxious to please all guests. We look forward to another stay at Royal marina Suites in the not too distant future.

We just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel and throughly enjoyed our stay, so much so that we will book again for next year. The hotel itself is lovely, it’s so quiet and relaxing but the only downside is the pool/breakfast staff! They seem very uninterested in trying to make your stay the perfect experience. The daytime bar isn’t maned which is fair enough, but when you do find someone to order a drink they seem very uninterested and reluctant. For instance, on one occasion we pointed out that the glass was dirty just before they pored the drink, they tutted, walked off, got another glass and preceded to tip the ice from the dirty glass into the clean glass ! Also breakfast time seemed to be a miserable affair for the staff, something me and my wife started to find quite comical. This was such a shame as reception staff and cleaning staff went out of their way to make you feel extremely welcome. Hopefully by next year the waiting staff will match the enthusiasm of the others.

My wife and I spent a lovely peaceful holiday at the Royal Marina Suites 13th-20th August and confirm the abundance of superlatives bestowed upon it by previous reviewers. The room is very spacious , with large comfortable bed, excellent air conditioning, wi-fi and first class sea view. Should lying by the pool not appeal, the generously large secluded balcony has a table, 2 comfortable chairs plus 2 stylish and comfortable sun beds. It can get a bit warm as the surrounding walls providing the balcony privacy plus the glass panels at the front can weaken a much welcome cooling sea breeze but still a lovely option to have. The bathroom is stunning with a fabulous large ceiling shower and huge round window looking firstly into your room then onto the world outside. Breakfast has an ample and varied selection of fruit, cold meat, bread, rolls etc with the added bonus of the hot food options being cooked to order. The freshly squeezed orange juice is not to be missed, it’s delicious. The infinity pool is all one safe depth. There is also a small jacuzzi. All in all the Royal Marina Suites ticked the boxes of what we wanted for our weeks stay. Finally It would be remiss of me not to mention all the staff who were all very courteous and work hard maintaining the high standards this boutique hotel sets for itself. Honestly cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. Just coming to the end of a 10 night holiday and we are sad to be leaving. This is an all suite hotel, only 20 some odd rooms so really not busy. The rooms themselves are stunning with amazing views of the harbour, huge comfy beds, his and hers sinks and a rainfall shower with a porthole window so you can appreciate the view while you shower. There is a small but perfectly adequate gym and a lovely pool area with plenty of very comfortable loungers, which the staff meticulously clean every morning. Breakfast is cooked to order and brought to your table as well as cereal/fruit/pastries etc that you can help yourself to - really can’t fault the choice and the quality, 10 out of 10. This hotel is not for you if you want entertainment and a bar service at night, the bar closes at 630. For us this was a chance to totally relax in wonderful surroundings
