Gran Hotel Taoro

For the staff, we wish to thank everyone for the professional and friendly attitude they shared with us. With magnificent and perfect gardens we also have both Mount Teide and sea views. The gastronomy choice made our stay so special we cannot forget. After such a fantastic experience we have rebooked going back December.

Gran Hotel Taoro genuinely exceeded every expectation I had. I am a seasoned traveller and have stayed in many excellent hotels over the years, but this has firmly established itself as one of my absolute favourites. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. The hotel is immaculately clean, the rooms are beautiful, and the grounds are absolutely stunning. The pools are fantastic and the entire hotel has such a relaxing, luxurious atmosphere that I genuinely did not leave the hotel for the entire holiday. There was simply no reason to. One small thing that I particularly loved, and perhaps this is quite a niche thing to mention, was the music throughout the hotel. They played lovely, relaxing jazz music which created such a peaceful atmosphere throughout the day. Sitting around the hotel or by the pool with the music playing in the background was just perfect. It is a small detail, but it really added to the overall experience and atmosphere of the hotel. What really stood out, though, was the service. Every member of staff we encountered was incredibly welcoming, attentive and professional. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and the level of service throughout our stay was outstanding. The food was another highlight. Everything we ate was excellent, with a great selection throughout the hotel, and the drinks were just as good. Considering the quality of the hotel, food, drinks and service, I also thought it represented incredible value for money. It is difficult to find anything I would change. The rooms, pools, restaurants, grounds, cleanliness and especially the staff were all exceptional. The hotel manages to feel genuinely luxurious without being overly formal or pretentious, which made it incredibly easy to relax and enjoy being there. I went into this holiday with high expectations and Gran Hotel Taoro completely blew them away. It is rare that I leave a hotel already thinking about when I can return, but I sincerely hope I get the opportunity to stay here again one day. I cannot recommend Gran Hotel Taoro highly enough. If you are considering a trip to Tenerife, stay here. It was absolutely incredible.

We are staying here for a week for my special birthday.It is the best hotel we ever stayed in .The service and the food is excellent.The staff made my birthday really special and they all work so hard.We will always remember my special day and the memories we created.When we return back to Tenerife we will definitely choose this hotel again.Thank you so much for everything.Kind regards Martina and Stephen from England.

Really lovely stay at Gran Taoro, the hotel is so peaceful & relaxing, although this is possibly due to very low occupancy. Gourmet dinners were superb, free minibar & coffee/water refils are part of great service. I would add that I.d prefer a chocolate on turn down service, rather than a boiled sweet, but not a complaint

The quality of the renovation, which successfully combined modernity and high standards while preserving the spirit and character of this historic Tenerife hotel. The kindness and helpfulness of absolutely every staff member, without exception. The quiet location with a superb view, yet within walking distance of the historic center. The quality of the facilities, the pools, and the view. A huge thank you in particular to Raimonda—so efficient and friendly—as well as to all the other staff members whose names I didn't catch: at the front desk, the bar, and the pool, not forgetting the housekeeping staff. In short, a perfect stay; Puerto de la Cruz is an ideal base for exploring the entire island. Nicolas, Agnes, and Chloé (July 28 – Aug 9; 2 ocean-view rooms).

Watched this hotel being renovated during previous stays in PDLC and were keen to give it a try. We stayed for 5 nights on B&B basis in a room with balcony, facing the pools and mountain. Room was fine, with reasonable aircon and a ceiling fan to cope with the above average temperatures on the island. Bathroom tended to get a bit hot and if you opened the window to let the steam out, the aircon switched off. No big deal though! Breakfasts were predominantly waiter service and the immaculate servers couldn't have been more helpful. Contents on menu could be better presented, but that's my personal opinion. Simple things like warming the serving plates could perhaps be implemented to avoid dishes like scrambled egg from congealing. The excellence of all hotel staff was manifest throughout our stay and enhanced our overall experience. Would we stay again? Perhaps. My feeling is that having recently opened, this hotel will continue to improve incrementally to achieve it's previous historic grandeur.

WOW! What a spectacular hotel. From the moment we arrived we felt incredibly welcome and the hotel itself blew us away. The grounds are beautiful and the interior exquisite. Best of all were the staff as they were genuinely kind and added to the relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast 1st class. We traveled as a family with a 9 & 14 yr old. This is not hotel where kids can splash and play with inflatables, so if you’re looking for high energy pool and bar time this is not for you, however, if you are interested in an elegant, relaxing chilled vibe this hotel delivers. The kids loved their stay. It was nice to mix with lots of Spanish guests, too. I cant fault anything. A plus was reasonably priced drinks by the pool ( I was a bit nervous of this beforehand). A picturesque walk downhill into town for lunch and dinner was great, a short €4 taxi back. Highly recommend this hotel and location. Definitely booking a return visit…

Our stay was truly wonderful, and this is definitely one of the best hotels I have stayed at in North Tenerife. The view of Mount Teide from the pool makes the experience even more special. Our room was very nice & comfortable. The breakfast buffet is not the largest (compare to Bahia del Duque 😉), but it offers everything you need, with very good-quality products and plenty of choice to start the day well.

We stayed in the hotel in March for 2 nights. Upon arrival the staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is fabulous and the rooms are spacious & beautifully decorated. We only had breakfast which was really good and great selection of hot and cold food, staff were so helpful. The grounds are fabulous and our room had a view of Mt Teide. It's definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Would highly recommend the hotel
