Hotel Best Semiramis

Puerto de la Cruz|1.1km from city centre
We went to the Best Semiramis between 15th and 22nd July and we were on the 5th floor. The views from the balcony are amazing. I was a bit apprehensive about coming to the hotel after reading the negative reviews but I found them ( in my opinion) to be unfounded. The staff work incredibly hard and never stop. From the reception to the cleaners and the restaurant/bar staff they were always friendly and greeted you every time they saw you. The food is absolutely amazing and you'd have to be incredibly picky not to find something you liked, even in the morning there is a section that has lactose free and soya milk for you to have with your breakfast - I’ve never seen that in any hotel I’ve been too. The lunches and evening meals were superb with the waiters bringing the drinks to your table and replenishing them when asked. Even the pool restaurant was really nice, again with waiters bringing the freshly cooked meals to your table. Liked that they didn’t open the pool area until after 9:30am to stop the sun beds being taken by people that don’t use them. The reason I dropped one star is for a few little things that doesn’t really impact on your holiday but these are only again my opinion, when guests first arrive at the hotel and it’s after 11pm then I think they should put food aside for those guests - even if it’s only ham & cheese bread rolls which could be at the pool bar - we (5 of us) shared a cup of salted peanuts so we couldn’t wait for breakfast the following morning. There’s no ventilation in the bathroom so it gets very steamy when you use the shower, the entertainment isn’t five star (hotel rating) but they did their best, we ended up going to the reception bar which was great, you never waited long to give your order in which was then brought to your table. Lastly is that there’s no courtesy bus to take you into town. Yes, there’s lots of taxis but if you go most days into Puerto de la Cruz then it could prove expensive as it was over €11 return. But to summarise it all, it was a lovely enjoyable week that has staff the hotel should be proud of. Just wish the weather was too but that’s no fault of the hotel but being in North Tenerife.

Sol Costa Atlantis

Puerto de la Cruz|0.72km from city centre
This is a very good hotel. I stayed a week and had a room on the 7th floor with a sea view. It was very clean with a daily maid service. The tea and coffee makings were superb. There was a Nespresso machine and a kettle five different coffee's as well as decaf and four different types of tea a bottle of water was included. The staff were excellent and the check in and check out were quick and easy. Some nice touches were dressing gowns and flip flops as well as toiletries shampoo, shower gel. and moisturiser. tooth brushes and tooth paste cotton buds etc. The guests are 95% German and not one towel was placed on a sun lounger in fact what was very surprising was only about 60% of the sun loungers were taken even though the temperature was 26% every day. The only thing that stops this being a 5 star hotel is the dining. If you want to breakfast late or dinner late you have very little chance of dining in the outdoor dining area and sometimes it was a struggle to find a table at all and you had to wait till someone vacated. Also the hot plate wasn't utilised to it's most efficient. For instance one evening they had lamb cutlets on the grill and there was a queue of about 6 people and instead of putting a load of cutlets on the griddle the chef was putting on just what the person asked for serving just one guest at a time making it take about 30 minutes to get a couple of lamb cutlets the same thing happened at breakfast serving one guest at a time causing long queues. The food itself was good and plentiful but the dining room was so poorly organised with queues and lack of tables. A top class kitchen manager and this would easily be a 5 star hotel would most definitely visit again.

Coral Teide Mar

Spent a week here and loved it! I had read reviews before booking, and I can confirm this place is great. Every single member of the staff are really friendly and helpful l, always greeting you with a smile (well I think it was a smile - bit hard to tell with the masks). Our apartment was spotless (as was everywhere else), with really comfortable beds, lovely shower, good kitchenette facilities and plenty of channels in a variety of languages if you want to watch a bit of TV or listen to the radio when you're in. Good WiFi reception throughout. Great choice at breakfast, to cater for pretty much everyone, with staff that constantly refresh the buffet and keep the tables clean. The pool area is fantastic and so relaxed - it's like a little bit of paradise that catches the sun all day, with the pool surrounded by grass, trees and lots of colourful plants and flowers. There's plenty of places to eat and drink and shops nearby. The main town is about 15-20 minute downhill stroll, and the taxi back is only a few euro if you don't fancy the uphill walk. I did see 1 review saying that there was no security, and while I can't comment on that, there was security of a night-time during our stay (and we saw a guard checking our corridor 1 night. It has been 23 years since I was last in Tenerife (I lived and worked in las americas for many years), and I wasn't bothered about going back, because 'I've been there, done that', but Puerto de la Cruz is totally different to the south of the island, so I would totally recommend this hotel if you want to see a more relaxed side to Tenerife. Put it this way, I very rarely go to the same country/island more than once (let alone the same hotel), because there are so many places in the world that I want to see, but I have already booked up for September - admittedly, that's partly because the cable car at Teide was closed, and my partner was dying to go up there, but we still could have chose a different resort/hotel. If I did have to point a negative, it would be there wasn't any English tea at breakfast (being typical British🤣), but we just brought our own down, so not exactly a inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. Plus there's plenty of choice of other teas, coffees etc.

Hotel Atlantic Mirage Suites & Spa - Adults Only

This hotel is excellent we loved every part of it. Stayed in room 620 ideal for reception/pool (level 7) and restaurant (level five) the hotel is spotless the staff are excellent and the sound of the sea each evening is soothing. Tips The hotel is a bit of a distance to the main town it’s very hilly and we only went down once you can walk a kind of cliff path but it’s full of stairs which after a while kills you and gets very tedious. Go out of the hotel walk to the top road go right and you will see a walkway with steps follow them down (they are called the Agatha Christie steps as there is a statue as she had a house there each step has a book title on them) just keep following the road down to the sea front loads of shops and restaurants plus the lido ( which is due to open soon) you can either walk back or get a taxi (4/5 euros) we didn’t bother going again as the Main Street above the hotel had many bar’s restaurants and shops very reasonable priced excellent service not much of a party time if you like that kind of thing down town will be better for you. Food Breakfast is amazing plenty of choice and easy to get through Evening meal got board quickly so used only a couple of times drinks expensive and didn’t approve they charged for water you pay for drinks on the way out or you can charge money to your room and top up when it runs out we preferred to pay as we go drinks wise we preferred to eat out and give to local family business etc. The pool The rule is no personal towels you need to hire them from reception ten euros (refundable with receipt) to change for fresh one one euro exchange but we found we could use both our own and the hotels the reason they like you to use them to show that you are staying there and haven’t sneaked in. The bar is good very professional service. The room Lovely views over the sea the bathroom has been the best I have ever had abroad lives the multi shower lights and the screen window trick great fun to play with tv is crap so we always take a fire stick power lead and remote control Wi-Fi is very good the codes allow two devices per ticket but you can have as many as you like we had three tablets two phones and a fire stick don’t forget to put in the code for your fire stick to make it work you might not get every thing you get at home but it’s better than the tv without it We booked with jet2 excellent transfers etc the excursions we booked was the body trip up the side of the island we managed to see whales and dolphins I do warn it will be a long day 11.45 we left and didn’t get back until eight pm if you don’t like rough conditions sea wise this trip might not be for you as four plus hours on a boat feeling sea sick isn’t much fun there is chance to swim off the boat the food was a bit naff not to everyone’s taste take a jumper it can start to get cold. Jeep trip to la gormera this involves taking a Fred Olsen ferry. Early morning start 7am from a restaurant just along from the hotel o

Hotel Monopol

Puerto de la Cruz|0.75km from city centre
Wanted to be sure as possible of a good break after a harrowing year so I read many hundreds of reviews before selecting the Monopol for a two week stay in March, and I am delighted I did! The perfect location and architecture are already well covered so I will move straight on to the negative issues raised in other reviews of which most (though not all) turned out to be unfounded. Like any hotel which never closes its doors the rooms, by necessity, are refurbished on a rotating basis. The room I was given was clearly recently renovated, lovely shower and plenty of storage, basic but attractive furniture and two single beds pushed together. No kettle, limited tv channels and poor in-room wi-fi (free wi-fi works perfectly in the beautiful patio area) but for a 3* hotel a lovely room all round. A special thank you to the cleaning staff who did a wonderful job and made me feel so at home! Despite being close to the old centre, crowd noise was never an issue. The hotel is not really on a main thoroughfare and the excellent street music was never intrusive. The church does chime the quarter hours from 7 am till 11pm but after a couple of days is just seemed to fade into the pleasant ambience. Rooms not facing the church would probably barely hear it. The free breakfast buffet is copious and extensive, but I think even Oliver would decide that one serving was enough. As a Brit I have to say that the bacon was an affront to the pig that provided it, and the sausage (if indeed it could be classed as sausage) an abomination. Plenty of fresh fruit and various cheese and processed meat slices if that’s your thing. Unlimited cereals to top up on as a backstop. Bread is thoughtfully provided stale for easy toasting. Coffee and juice machines are actually quite good, though busy even in the quiet period of my visit. There is a restaurant, the ‘Don Carlos’ which operates in a portion of the hotel and is clearly associated with it, but which the hotel seems reluctant to acknowledge. Understandably perhaps as it is a total tourist trap, leeching off the hotels beautiful location and providing awful, overpriced meals to passing trade (I suspect they probably have the breakfast contract). There are 50 better dining places within a 10 minute walk. But (rant over) I would recommend the Monopol unreservedly as the perfect base for a visit to Puerto de la Cruz for those who are not looking for a 24-hour Ibiza type experience or a luxury spa hotel with hot and cold running flunkies. For £1000 a week more you would perhaps get a better breakfast and probably a kettle, but you would find yourself in a characterless chrome and glass citadel perched high above the town, isolated from the beautiful beach and downtown area by a gruelling 30-minute hike. It is said that location is everything and the best location in Puerto de le Cruz is the Monopol hotel.

Parque Vacacional Eden

Puerto de la Cruz|0.31km from city centre
This hotel exceeded our expectations by far. The buildings don’t look very pretty from the outside, but don’t let that fool you. The rooms have a nice decoration and are very comfortable and spacious. They have a small kitchen, a bathroom with a large shower, two sinks and a bidet, and even a hair blower. There was a little bit of mildew in some corners of the bathroom, but this is very frequent in hotels. Every day we would come back to a clean room with our beds nicely made. The beds are comfortable enough and there is plenty of closet space too. In addition, all the rooms have a balcony with beautiful views, which are equipped with a table, 2 chairs and even a hanger to dry out wet clothes. We felt like we were at home from day 1. The hotel premises are wonderful as well. There are two restaurants, one bar, three pools, paddle courts, and a minigolf, all in the middle of a gorgeous garden full of different trees, plants and flowers, and views to the mountains and the ocean. I’ve been to botanical gardens that aren’t half as pretty as this hotel’s park. The breakfast buffet is out of this world as well. There is so much variety, like eggs, charcuterie, fruits and vegetables, pancakes, cookies and other baked goodies, all sorts of different types of bread, drinks, etc. Furthermore, the staff is super friendly, always smiling and willing to help out with recommendations or answering any questions. We felt compelled to leave about €20 worth of tips to the personnel, and we don’t usually tip hotel staff. They also treat you to a welcome glass of sparkling wine (or non-alcoholic cocktail if you prefer), and they even left us a full bottle in our room as a gift one day, because it was my birthday. We’ve read bad comments about the fact that one of the bars has loud music until late at night. We were actually in the bedroom with the wall adjacent to the bar and we can say that we do not share this complaint. The bar is only open from 6 PM to 11 PM. The animation starts at 9 PM and ends at 11 PM sharp. There were a couple of nights where we were tired and went to bed before the animation finished and we were able to sleep through the noise. It really isn’t all that loud in the bedroom, and the music finishes at a very reasonable time considering people in the hotel are on vacation. We also read bad comments about the fact that you have to pay to use the hotel parking lot. We do not share this complaint either. Parking in Puerto De la Cruz is very difficult and the hotel only charges €5 a day for the parking, which leaves you right at the entrance of the building. Even municipal parkings aren’t that cheap. The hotel’s location is also great. About 30 minutes away from the Tenerife-Norte airport, and about an hour away from the Teide and many other points of interest such as Adeje, Anaga park, the capital, etc. Puerto De la Cruz in and of itself is also an interesting city with beautiful beaches and nice restaurants. It does have a lot of traffic and it’

Booked a ”cheap deal” through LoveHolidays. 37 years since I was last in Puerto de la Cruz, so did not know what to expect. The hotel itself has plenty of character, although the general state of it is a little shabby and worn. No matter though, as room I had was very clean and comfortable beds (with very small balcony on 4th floor). Problem with water leaking from the shower screen, which I reported early on but was not fixed, meaning the bathroom floor got very wet and I had to use the bathmat every time I had a shower to soak up the water. As it left the floor wet, could be dangerous if someone slipped on it. Having said that, rest of facilities made-up for that one weakness. Fairly reasonable buffet breakfast included; great rooftop terrace for sunbathing, with a small pool (only about 5 metres by 4); very nice hard-working staff, especially the waiters/waitresses and the maids; great outdoor terrace with smoking area where you could have meals as well as a more formal outside eating area; great ”live” musician (singer with guitar) singing some traditional Spanish songs, which, for me, was very nice to relax to in the evenings before going for dinner, with an acceptable glass of Canarian house white wine; and is in a fantastic location in the Old Town near many sights and only a few minutes walk to many different shops, to some very good restaurants and the Rooftop Bar just around the corner - see my coming reviews for these. So is not a ”fancy, plush” hotel, but one with great charm and is such good value with all its advantages of facilities, location etc

You don't get a second chance to make a first impression and an unmanned 24/7 reception @ 9pm formed ours. ”Probably on a break” said one of the other guests - who it turned out was absolutely right. We waited, but a sign telling us would have been nice! And waiting was something we got really good at during a 7 night stay at DWO Nopal. Waiting for a roof bar to open that's closed until Wednesday each week and a pool that does't open until 11am each day. Waiting 10 mins each morning for a coffee from the world's slowest coffee machines, then a wait for a seat to drink the coffee from the machine that took all morning to half fill a cup! The only two things we didn't wait for was someone to clear a table so we could eat breakfast, we did that ourselves each day, otherwise we'd still be there at lunch! And we didn't wait for the lift, probably made by the same company as Nopal's coffee trickling machines. The other issue is NOISE, a major issue for people on the fourth floor (there's a one in 4 chance you will be) as it's directly below the roof where chairs and tables scrape about from 07:30 each day. Apparently the issue was the hotel was full...should we wait for someone to check out then? NOISE is also a major issue for people on the entrance side of the hotel. Forget about sleeping with a door or window open! So just pray you're not on the fourth floor and facing the street (yawns). Dopal will be waiting a very very long time to get a 4th star (and arguably should lose one of its 3) if it doesn't start to focus on the service outside of the rooms. Put simply Nopal is a hotel that's very much form over function. It looks great but it doesn't work very well.

The location of the hotel is good, the room type has a large balcony and kitchen, facing the downstairs square, it is also very lively at night, 24 hours front desk service, there are two buildings, one building is estimated to be a long-term tenant (the building where the front desk is located), the other The building is a hotel room, and the house numbers in the two buildings are the same. . . Go back to the front desk and find an employee to take to the hotel building. The service is not bad. There are 2 other points to be noted by the hotel and Ctrip: 1. The location of the hotel (front desk) is different from that of google, and there is no mark on the door of the front desk; there is a large hotel sign on the other side of the building (Figure 1), but there is no entrance; on the other side (google positioning point) there is a A very small H sign. After entering, go around the maze and turn back to the front desk position. In fact, the front desk location is in the parking lot. It is not easy to find the front desk location by pulling the luggage around. 2. The child policy is different from the reservation page. Children who do not have an extra bed written on the reservation page are free of charge. When the check-in is done, the front desk says no, but later they say nothing. They checked in directly and gave a 3-bed room without adding an extra. money. When booking European hotels, the age of children is filled in clearly according to the reservation rules. In particular, children's policies are paid attention to, and the corresponding room types are selected according to the rules. Obviously, there are still some discrepancies between the information on the reservation page of some hotels and Ctrip. Ctrip and hotels need to have clear rules to avoid trouble.

Be Live Adults Only Tenerife

Staff are amazing. The pool area is clean, rooms cleaned daily however i personally dont know how this hotel is a 4 star 3 at best that is being generous. Beds are the most uncomfortable beds ive ever stayed in, rooms are extremely small, balconies are in adequate can just say squeeze on them. The hotel doesnt get the sun all day which is a shame especially the bottom of the pool however the solarium does get a few extra hours. This hotel caters to a certain nationality which are so rude and personally put me off and it was like a care home majority of the guests are 60 and over. First and last visit to this part of Tenerife sadly i would 100% not recommend and will be sticking with the South. Location of the hotel is good theres a nice walk to town, beach is pretty close and Loro Park is within walking distance but still isnt enough to make me return. Food isnt the best either, freezing cold and not a lot of variety. If you like fish you will always have something to eat not a lot of meat served up, breakfast is the same everyday. Some meals were nice but found breakfast and dinner were the worst.
Hotel Botanico y Oriental Spa Garden

This was our third stay at Hotel Botanico, and we felt like we were returning 'home' after a gap of 2 years because of Covid. This is such a beautiful hotel, in a stunning, peaceful garden setting. The rooms are excellent, the staff are so friendly and helpful. Beautiful swimming pools and amazing spa facilities. There are lots of restaurants and bistros very close by, as well as the hotel's own restaurants, and a shuttle bus leaves for the main port just a 10 minute ride, which is full of restaurants, bars and shops etc. Jet 2 holidays were efficient, helpful, and all the arrangements worked.
H10 Tenerife Playa
4/565 Reviews
I stayed for 2 weeks in January. I have often been a guest in H10 hotels - none of which have disappointed. However, the Tenerife Playa was the exception. Clearly some refurbishment has been done in the bathrooms (attractive tiling and fittings) but the remainder is definitely overdue care and attention. I realise this is an old hotel, but even so. The staff are welcoming and efficient. The main area which needs huge improvement is the food - which is mediocre. Hot soup tasted of absolutely nothing - but was hot. All Main dishes had a brown ”sauce” which was also tasteless. Even the salads were lacking - why no tomatoes ? or ”french” dressing - just something to add some taste. One night I had a slice of pork (what could go wrong ?) and declined the ”sauce”. The meat was so tough I requested a sharper knife from the maitre D. I tried the replacement with no success and asked the Maitre D to try - he also failed ! This is the only hotel where the best thing was the bread at breakfast !
Sol Costa Atlantis
4.1/572 Reviews

We spent a week at this hotel at the end of January. Our room was at the front of the hotel on the 11th floor,it could quite noisy of an evening till about 11.30pm. Our room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. A kettle and cups were supplied, we picked up a carton of milk from a nearby supermarket as we had a small fridge in the room.We were able to get teabags and sachets of instant coffee from dinning room. Air-conditioning worked well in our room as did wifi both of these were free. The food was plentiful and a wide variety dishes on offer, although could have been a bit warmer. We only went to entertainment one evening and thoroughly enjoyed the flamenco dancers. There was quite a few activities throughout the day ie: bowls darts ect which attracted a few participants. The pool was a bit on the chilly side, but it was January.Lots of sunbeds around the pool and also on the solarium, so we never had a problem finding a couple .Hotel is very central and rooms at the front have excellent views. We stayed on a half board basis.

I stayed for 9 nights in this hotel in December 2023. My transfer to the resort was significantly delayed, over 4 hours, so I arrived tired & hungry. I went to Reception to check in & was told my room had been upgraded to include a balcony, I was also provided with 2 bags of food courtesy of the hotel as they were aware I was running late, sandwiches, fruit & water. I was surprised by this gesture but absolutely delighted. From that moment on I continued to be welcomed & felt the warmth of the staff, from the bar staff, kitchen staff & cleaning staff, everyone was courteous & friendly & made the hotel feel like my home for the 9 nights. The rooms are very clean, an older more authentic look to them but I fell in love with the place. The fridge worked which was good news too! The breakfast in the morning was excellent & plenty of choice. There was entertainment on at night, most of it was very good. The hotel does a deal where you can drink local alcohol & hot drinks for €14 per day (min 3 days), it was excellent value. I spent my birthday at the hotel & arrived back to my room to a card from the staff & a bottle of wine. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was made to feel very welcome. One word of warning…the hotel is a 15-20 walk from the beach & it’s a reasonably steep descent / ascent so it is tough on the legs…I’m 44 & of a medium fitness level & I found it tiring, so be aware of that.
