So nearly a 5* review. Just returned from this beautiful hotel after a 10 day stay and a brilliant holiday. Peurto del Carmen is lovley. Something for everyone. The Positives. The pool, hotel, chill out balcony, views are just amazing. The rooms are spotless and the breakfast area and food cannot be faulted. The breakfast/bar staff are amazing too. Had a couple of lunches here as too from the snack menu and responsibly priced. 4 euro a pint of beer 2 euro for a coffee. Sun beds were easy to obtain. I think they have put more in since other reviewers had complained about lack of them. The negatives, and this should not put you off coming but it is why i cannot give it a 5* review. On arrival you are told that if you want to use the safe its now 4 euro a day this has increased from 3 euro a day. So that would have been 40 euro then for us. If if you want WiFi in your room its 2 euro a day. So before they give you a room key they wanted 60 euro off me. Not a chance. This should be provided for free in a 4* Hotel. Luckily i had read previous reviews so bought a lock for my case and topped up my data before i came. Also if you have a late return flight they will find you room to have a shower but again only if you pay 30 euro until 3pm or 40 euro after this. Come on !! Surely you can find a room that people can spend 20 mins in to have a quick shower and a change of clothes before a long journey home. Other Hotels provide time slots for this. We ended up getting changed in the lobby toilets which to be fair were big enough for it not to be a problem. Overall the positives by far outweighed the nagatives, and i would deffinatley stay here again.

Located in the Matagorda area of Puerto del Carmen, Nautilus Lanzarote is an attractive apartment complex 2 minute walk from the beachfront. Free WiFi is available in all apartments. Nautilus Lanzarote has a quiet location. It features 2 outdoor pools with loungers. The resort is equipped for wheelchair access throughout. Just back from Plaza Azul. Great location near the top of a hill hard for anyone with walking difficulties, apartments were lovely 2 stories just and all looked onto the pool, beautiful pool area. Apartments very very basic, very minimum kitchen equipment 2 spoons, 1 tea spoon one knife for 4 of us that kinda basic, everything had to be paid for including tv remote, hair dryer, iron dont mind paying for a safe but thought at least a hair dryer on the wall is a nice essential, the maids cleaned most days but left a lot of dust behind and floors were always dirty. The pool bar man was friendly but they charged 6 euro for 6 kids nuggets and 5 euro for chips , the drinks were expensive also, we have stayed in a lot of apartments in puerto del carmen but they are the most dated, reception and indoor bar is like something from the 80s. Pool area was nice but the sun loungers didn't recline and were not comfortable you could hire the we mattress again for a fee, prob wouldnt return to these apartments the photos they look great online when booking

From the start we were greeted by Justin, who was very helpful and diligent. The resort is kept spotlessly clean at all times. The varity of entertainment through the day, from French Boules competitions, darts competitions to pool Zumba was great. I didn't get the guy's name who provided the entertainment but he was enthusiastic, energetic and great fun, ”maybe tomorrow!”. Nightly entertainment was mediocre and sometimes way too loud. We only tried the breakfast which had a very good selection and was very tasty. Pool bar had a good selection of drinks, snacks and ice creams. The apartment/bungalow we stayed in was very close to the pool so was very handy. It was clean and adequetly equipped, the only downside is the bed for the third person (my 15 year old daughter) was in fact the L Shaped couch in the lounge area. A pull out bed like they do in many other resorts would have been perfect. The location of the resort is pretty close to the airport, so transfer time is very short. The vast beach is about a 5 to 7 minute walk away downhill. The areas of Los Jameos Shops and Puerto Del Carmen are about a 15 to 20 minute walk away. So unless you are prepared to walk, have a rental car or maybe a taxi it's a bit of a stretch, especially the hill going back up to the resort. We regularly got a taxi into PDC as my wife has trouble walking, but the cost of a taxi is very reasonable at about 4 Euros. Now, sunbed claiming, there is a sign up saying no sunbeds are to be booked (ie towels put on them) but this isnt the case. Quite a few sunbeds had towels on them from 7.30am. If you get to the pool area before 11am you are pretty much guaranteed a sunbed. The annoying bit was that there was a family of three who claimed 4 to 5 sunbeds and 3 umbrellas everyday at 8am, they would then disappear for hours on end at a time and not once were they challenged but lots of other families were challlenged by the lifeguard (the bigger one) if they had more than one umbrella per two people. The reasoning for myself for only providing 4 stars - Firstly - location (hills and a bit of a trek to beach, shops, etc) - I know this is not the hotels fault but you need to be aware especially if you have mobility issues Secondly - nightly entertainment was average and often too loud, if you are after a peaceful time ask for a bungalow away from the bar area Thirdly - sunbed claiming and lifeguard, there seemed to be a bit of favoritism towards certaim people Overall it was an enjoyable stay but I would doubt I would go back again as there are other hotels/complexes which are more suited to myself and my family. We have had another great stay at the Floresta, many thanks for the rooms we requested Ulrike, we had a lovely welcome on arrival from Eduardo which started the holiday well. This is a spotless well run hotel rooms are spacious and maid service excellent, our grandchildren love the pool which allows inflatables. A special enthusiastic animation team work hard to entertain all ages their energy is amazing. If your looking for a family holiday this is the place to be, lovely beach nearby and a walk or taxi into puerto del carmen. We will return again hopefully
