Villas Salinas de Matagorda

A lovely villa complex situated in Matagorda, on the quieter outskirts of Puerto del Carmen. The villas are a short 10min drive from the airport and a further short 10min drive to the busier area of Puerto del Carmen. The two bedroomed villa that we stayed in was spacious, clean and had all fixtures and fittings one would expect. The enclosed outdoor area was spacious enough for what we needed with a small pool, loungers and dining area. Carolina, the host was just the best. She was friendly and helpful and even invited us into her office when we arrived to tell us about the local area, providing plenty of useful information. The local resort and beach of Playa Matagorda is a short 3-5min walk away with a long stretch of beautiful beach, a few small supermarkets, shops, restaurants and bars. Puerto del Carmen is a 10min drive or 1 hour coastline stroll away where it is much busier with the general hustle and bustle you would expect from a larger resort. A lovely winter sun break in a wonderful villa complex that I would recommend to anyone!

From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Carolina was very helpful from the beginning. The keys are left in a key box with the details emailed so even though we were running a little late we were settled into the villa in no time. We had a two bedroom villa. A master ensuite bedroom with a double bed and twin single beds in the second, there is loads of wardrobe space. The beds are on the firm side which were perfectly fine. The kitchen came with everything you'd expect with 4 of everything, cups, glasses, plates etc., You'll need to bring your own toiletries and shop for basic food items. The villa was spotlessly clean when we arrived and was cleaned twice during our 10 day stay. We asked for extra towels which were provided straight away. The pool was small but still comfortable, we asked for the pool to be heated which made getting in a pleasure even in February. There is also a BBQ however we didn't use it during our stay. The villa is centrally located in Matagorda with all the amenities within 5 minutes walk of the villa. You are also just a short taxi ride from the old town or if you wish you could stroll into the old town in about an hour. The airport is a 10 minute taxi ride away and you can hear the planes takeoff and land,I have to say that this didn't bother use at all and certainly didn't disturb our sleep. They say it's all about location and if that's true then this place has it in spades! All COVID measures were adhered to when dealing with staff and the same can be said for any shop or restaurant we visited. We had an absolutely wonderful holiday and I can't recommend Villas Salinas highly enough.

I stayed 7 nights at Villas Salinas in January 2022 with my sister and a friend. We were in Villa no. 9. The villa was exceptionally good value. We had our own private pool with a huge patio with a barbecue and al fresco dining facilities. We had 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a decent sized and well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and a huge fridge/freezer and a nice comfortable lounge/dining room. There was also a small utility area at the rear of the villa with washing machine. The villa was kept clean and spotless and the pool was cleaned regularly. The location of the villas is excellent with just a five minutes walk to the beach at Matagorda, and 10 minutes to shops, bars and restaurants. It was only a 15 to 20 minutes walk to the much larger Playa de Los Pocillos as well. Carolina in reception was always extremely helpful with information and always very friendly. So thank you for a lovely stay (with almost perfect weather all week). Highly recommended.
