Blue Lagoon Dive Resort

Super nice villa type hotel. Quiet . Next to the beach. Super useful and friendly staff. Safe and clean.

This was a trip of many firsts -- first booking with trip.com, first time in Puerto Galera, first try at scuba diving. And it was worth it and memorable! First off, Blue Lagoon is located at the perfect spot just outside of the busy Sabang beach, where my boyfriend and I were able to still enjoy some peace and quiet. Next, I was impressed with how clean and well-kept the hotel was. I was very comfortable in the room, bath, and common areas. Third, their service was wonderful. My scuba instructor, Pierre, was very attentive and patient. The other instructors (and even staff) were so encouraging, as I was completing my Open Water Course. I have to also thank housekeeping (for keeping the room clean), restaurant staff (for the wonderful meals), and hotel staff (for arranging our activities and transfers). Finally, the facilities were great. The pool is well-maintained, as well as the scuba gear. In addition, the people (both staff and guests) were so welcoming, that it was heartbreaking to leave. We will be back for sure!

Positive: Excellent location; assisted us in our trip from batangas; The aircon was broken and no one was available until the next morning to fix it. It was summer and it was hot, even though I had a fan. They refunded me the night, but it was still such a bummer to dive without sleep. They should have regular maintenance instead of waiting for things to break before they fix it.

Nice resort, had to deal with a very bad A/C when we arrived, so one night of terrible sleep, but the staff replaced the next day. Good location, near to all the dive resorts and walking distance to most restaurants. Food at the restaurant in the resort was on the pricier side, but pretty good.

Let me tell you about the negatives now. First off, the beds were so hard that I could barely sleep. When I finally fell asleep, I was awakened at 3:30 in the morning by the roosters next door. After that, one of the staff woke me up again by sifting through the trash cans at 4:30 am. There was almost zero insulation from the noise. Another issue was the lack of hot water and very low water pressure for the shower. It is quite a walk to get there after being dropped off by the tuk tuk driver. Along the way, we were hounded by beggars and other locals trying to sell us their stuff. Not many good food options were available either. I don't think it is worth the 90 min ferry ride and 20 min tuk tuk ride to get there. Oh, and for you families out there, be aware that there are numerous clubs and bars, and you can see the girls hanging on the arms of the large number of foreign men. And, yes, they ended up at the Blue Lagoon.

Hotel staff and management were very good to me. I liked the food too.

I definitely will be back next summer 💯
