Iberostar Paraiso Beach

At first, we did not like this hotel since they charged us $580 for all-inclusive for one guest for 4 days. Before we arrived, we talked to ******* and to the hotel management about the extra meals for my daughter. When I phoned the hotel, they acted like it was easy and nothing much to pay. When we arrived, their song changed. We made a mistake by selecting 3 people to stay with 2 beds and forgot to mention about the all-inclusive and booked only for 2 (all-inclusive meals). So, we had a bad start. However, this is a great hotel, and we enjoyed our stay. There are several dining options, and the food was great. We went out to the town only once and came back since there was not much to get since all the shops were catering to tourists and were way higher priced compared to other local shops. Since the hotel is so large, they provide golfcarts to give transportation. It takes almost 5-10 minutes to wait to catch a golf cart. Staff were friendly and nice; the rooms were clean. Whenever we needed towels, cleaning staff were there on the floor, and we could ask them for towels or to clean the room. .

The grounds and wildlife were great. Staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. Food was delicious and drinks were great! Will be back…

Our family of 6 (4 teen/young adult kids) loved the beautiful property & beach, amenities, and extra shops area and Pablo & friends' activities! Our Christmas holiday & vacation was unforgettable and special! The pushiness for joining & paying $ & buying into Iberostar was a huge turn off; everything else was amazing!

We love this complex and the beach hotel but the rooms really need an update. The Dining, entertainment, beach and pools are outstanding but the rooms are in need of an update and seem rundown. There was a gross stain on the futon in the room. The AC was set to about 72 and no colder so it was hot and humid and must in the room. It’s tight for a family of four. We’ve been a couple times though and outside of the rooms it’s a great place and a good time. If we go again I may see if there’s a suite we can opt for.

The resort is big and is great for large parties/family trips, but was a little overwhelming managing around that for our party of 2 when it came to mass reserving of chairs with the large families, checking in for reservations etc. The food was okay, it was expected for an all-inclusive package. There’s a ton of wildlife around out in the open. I wouldn’t bother paying for cabanas as there is no system for it and you will walk up to random people sitting at yours with no staff around to dissolve the situation - you must wake up early for chairs in both pool and beach area. Overall it can be a great resort but should be mindful of your tolerance to large groups, children, wildlife, and cultural barriers.

The property is beautiful and the grounds are well maintained. The resort is huge and depending on which building you are staying in there could be a long walk. However, they have shuttles that run around every 10 mins or so offering rides back and forth to various locations throughout the resort you are staying in. There are various types of wildlife walking around the resort which was fun to see. The pool didn’t have enough seating to accommodate the amount of guests they have and same goes for the beach. I often found myself leaving and trying to return at another time because I didn’t have a place to go. The food was mostly okay, but I had concerns about the Buffett being sanitary and food being kept at the correct temperature. I got violently ill and spent the last few days of my vacation locked in my room because I couldn’t be away from a bathroom for more than a few minutes. I’m home now and still having that issue unfortunately. I was able to call a doctor to my room who offered some treatment which was convenient, but be forewarned that any medical services needed are at your expense and they don’t come cheap. They also don’t offer bottled water, only jugs for you to fill from what they claim is a filtration fountain. That could have also been my problem. From my personal experience, I wouldn’t return but people with tougher stomachs would probably have a great time if they don’t end up glued to the toilet.

Staff was very nice and helpful. A special thanks to Octavio who helped contact a transportation company for us. The grounds are gorgeous and very well kept.

Checking in was horrible and dishonest. Iberostar charged me $383 dollar extra fee for my son, claiming that there was a descripancie in the booking caused by *******. They also suggest the guests to not use *******, claiming that ******* take advantage of customers by charging high hidden fees.

Very nice place. Fairy noisy with construction in several places. But it’s necessary to keep the place up to date. Food is great. Would go again.
