Aparthotel Maracaibo

The place was ideal for what we both wanted , near to the dive centre , beach and then to town

We were moved from our original hotel due to building work to the Maracaibo, what a stroke of luck, spacious rooms, spotlessly clean, great pool area, and amazingly friendly staff, delayed flight going out, arrived after midnight and Stacey and Oliver stayed after their shift to cook us food and served drinks at the bar for all 12 of us, first time at Maracaibo but certainly not the last. Thanks for 10 great days

We stayed here for 7 days and had 2 separate standard apartments, rooms where clean and well maintained and maid service was in 6 out of the 7 days if needed. The atmosphere was so chilled and all the staff at reception where always helpful with any questions and always offered a smile and pleasant greeting. The pool bar/restaurant had a really good atmosphere and the food and drinks where very well priced and always top standard. We felt that the hotel was situated perfectly as if you wanted the beach it was around a 5 to 10 minutes walk and if you wanted bars and restaurants or shopping that was a 10 to 15 minute walk to the mogan mall area. We would highly recommend staying and if we are ever planning a trip to grand caneria again this will be our hotel of choice.

We stayed at the Maracaibo at the end of August along with the family (7 of us altogether) for the first time. We've been coming to Puerto Rico for many years and these are by far the best apartments we have ever stayed in. The pool area and bar/restaurant are really nice and the bar is open from early until midnight. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are all lovely. The rooms are all kept spotlessly clean. This will be our 'go to' place from now on.

Great apartments. Try and upgrade to a garden room. Really big apartment plus your own garden and pool. Special mention to all the staff who we couldn’t fault. Friendly, helpful service from all and specific praise for Valentina on reception who helped organise our upgrade, sorted taxis for us and did everything she could to make our holiday easy.

We are currently staying at the Hotel and was having a lovely stay until today when the worse Lifeguard with the worse attitude arrived at the pool. The Hotel is lovely and spotless, the bar staff and all other staff are so friendly and welcoming. Today’s pool area went from being a fun pool all week to no atmosphere whatsoever in the space of one day 😠 he wouldn’t let children play with a blow up lightweight ball in the pool and his attitude to guests leaves a lot to be desired !! He randomly took towels off sunbeds (which is fair enough if he was consistent) but he wasn’t as there were sunbeds with towels that had been there from the pool opening till early afternoon with no one using them 🤷‍♀️ it seemed like he was randomly choosing any bed to show his authority !! This hotel is advertised as ‘Family Friendly’ but after today’s experience at the pool I wouldn’t advise bringing children to this hotel, unless there is a change of lifeguard….to be fair the lifeguard on previous days were lovely and just let the children enjoy themselves as they weren’t bothering anybody!!! I had planned on bringing my grandchildren to this hotel but after today o will be looking elsewhere…..which is a shame because the hotel is lovely with one bad egg !!

Fantastic location, very close to the beach and the view from the hotel balcony is beautiful. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing i would say this is a nice place for families especially with older children . The room was nice and spacious and very clean with everything that you need for your stay . The value of our stay was very reasonable although I think the air-conditioning should be in on the price of your stay and the safe without having to pay extra . Noise level was quiet and the services of the cleaners were fantastic those girls do a fantastic job with clean towels and bedding most days . The pool is just the right size and no rushing for a sun lounger. The bar and food where reasonably priced we made the most of the happy hour. We would definitely recommend to our friends and family and will be returning in the future.

Firstly the apartments , room and view were lovely, cleaning staff do an amazing job , no sunbed wars , great location, however if travelling with young children how the pool area is run depending on which lifeguard is on duty needs to change ! The rules vary each day pending on the lifeguards, one particular lifeguard obviously doesn’t like children and he certainly doesn’t want them to have any fun ! . Some days you are allowed to jump in , splash , have inflatables , pool toys and soft balls other days your not allowed anything and the children are chastised and told to get out of the pool if he thinks they have jumped in whilst he wasn’t even around the pool area , likely to be at the bar ! We travelled as a family and witnessed this on many occasions, when a particular lifeguard was on duty we took ourselves away from the situation , as it got so bad . We wouldn’t return because of this and the hotel should be advertised as adults only as it appears that’s what they want !
