This is a fabulous hotel. The setting, the views, the rooms, welcome and service were outstanding. The team went out of their way to ensure that our vegan kids were accommodated in the restaurant - adapting the amazing Xmas Eve dinner for them. Service was personal and focused on our relaxation. A very special place that made our Christmas. Could not recommend more highly.

This is a spectacular experience. The views and location are exceptional. Very friendly and welcoming staff. By second day everyone from managers to wait staff knew our names and went over and above to make sure we were well taken care of. Very special hotel in a very special place.

10/10 stars! We loved our time here so much, I can’t say enough great things. Super easy pickup from the airport, greeted by Basillio as soon as we arrived, had the chance to plan our excursions, offered a delicious welcome drink and felt at home immediately. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and helpful. Our guides Jorge and Sebastian were fabulous. Susan was fantastic and took time to check on us daily and make us feel so special. The food was great as well. Special touches every time we turned around! Highly recommend the AWA for your stay in this beautiful area!! We will be back!

About 30-minutes by car out of Puerto Varas, perfect relaxing location. Beautiful rooms overlook the lake and the volcano. Taking a bath while gazing out the window to the snow-covered volcano was bliss. We ate each dinner in their restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed each meal and dessert. A must if this part of Chile!

This review is criminally overdue. I had the immense pleasure of spending three nights at Hotel Away in November of 2023. This has to be one of the best and most relaxing vacation experiences I have ever had. I felt totally reinvigorated. Stunning location, immaculately maintained, pitch perfect service, delectable gourmet food, and fantastic excursions arranged with knowledgeable guides. The beauty of the rooms and the hotel in general cannot be overstated. Susan and her team didn't put a foot wrong. My wife was very sad to miss the trip as she joined me in Atacama later. In fact, I loved it so much that we are planning on returning this November again to AWA so that we can experience it together for our 10th wedding anniversary. Now, the long wait to November begins.

I found this to be an architecturally stunning hotel resting on the bank of Lake Llanquihue. Every detail of this hotel is thoughtful, inviting its guests to settle into a warm chair by the fireplace with a cocktail and a view, or relax into a sofa and drift through the history and wilderness of Chile as told through the stacks of books on table and shelves. The food is absolutely delicious, creative and flavorful, inspired and thoughtful.

We travel a lot and this one of the best hotel experiences we have had. The location is incredible and the staff were attentive and engaging. To wake up and go to sleep looking out at the volcano in different light was so special. I would recommend for a honeymoon or any other romantic occasion.

An astonishing hotel in a fantastic setting. The architect-designed exterior, the lovely warmth of the rooms with their wooden floors and of course the amazing windows looking on to the lake. The food was another highlight of our stay. Every meal was excellent and they paid strict and welcome attention to my wife’s dietary restrictions. The team were very helpful and we had a great horse riding experience which they managed and organised for us. It is rare to find such a positive experience.

The AWA in the Chilean Lake District is a beautiful hotel with huge panoramic windows overlooking the lake and the snowcapped volcano. From the outside it isn't particularly prepossessing but as soon as you walk in you are struck by the use of local fabrics and the play of light. Staff are lovely, particularly the manager, Susan, who couldn't be more helpful. Our bedroom was lovely. Those windows again, a really soft and comfortable bed and a bathroom with a window so you can continue to admire the view. We ate all three nights in the resturant where the food used local produce and was well presented. The Hotel arranges excursions to the volcano, Cholie Island etc. but we had our own guide.
