Atour Properties in Qingdao

Clean rooms, friendly staff and great location. Many food joints are near by..value for money

Location: The hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to the May Fourth Square. It's also just a few hundred meters from Exit C of May Fourth Square Station for Metro Lines 2 and 3, with a bus stop conveniently located right outside the subway exit. This makes it incredibly convenient for independent travelers. Ambiance: The hotel has a minimalist design, and the front desk public area feels very welcoming. There's also an outdoor lounge area, which is a really nice touch. Cleanliness: All easily accessible surfaces in the room were quite clean and tidy. However, the area under the desk seemed to have been overlooked; please pay more attention to these details. Service: Both the front desk and housekeeping staff are very service-minded. While the breakfast selection isn't vast, it does offer a good mix of Chinese and Western options. For a complimentary breakfast, it offers quite good value for money.

On that dark and stormy night, I opened Trip.com and the Zhongshan Road Atour Hotel immediately caught my eye. My heart skipped a beat, and I decisively booked a room, little did I know that warmth and happiness awaited me... (I fell in love the moment I entered the lobby! The room was also very clean and tidy! The front desk ladies were also very nice! I'll definitely stay here again next time! I have to come back!!!)

The room had excellent blackout curtains and soundproofing. After a comforting late-night congee on the last day of 2024 (2025 in the original, but likely a typo for the New Year's context), I slept soundly until 9 AM. The breakfast was the most lavish I've ever had at an Atour hotel, with freshly prepared shrimp and beef. The laundry and drying service was as good as ever, and the lobby on the first floor was incredibly comfortable; I spent a warm and sunny first day of the new year there. Today also happens to be my ***** birthday, and I lit the first incense stick of the new year at the nearby temple, where three religions converge. Wishing for immediate success!

The sea-view room offers an excellent vantage point, providing stunning views of iconic landmarks such as Zhanqiao Pier and the May Fourth Square light show (in the distance). On sunny days, the shimmering sea is truly a beautiful and delightful sight. As always, Atour consistently delivers its high standard of service. The self-service laundry and drying facilities were incredibly convenient during our trip. Breakfast featured local Qingdao delicacies such as fresh shrimp, clams, and mackerel dumplings, with a quality that even surpassed some local restaurants. Regarding facilities, I'll just mention a few minor, insignificant downsides. For example, the elevators are a bit dated; after swiping the room card, they don't seem to close on their own. Also, the room has numerous lights, but the switches lack clear labeling or instructions, meaning you have to press them all to figure out which one does what.

The hotel is super easy to find, just a 100-meter walk straight from Exit A of Yan'an 3rd Road Subway Station. The lobby is very spacious, and they even had some Christmas decorations up recently. The hotel staff are really great too ☺️ they try their best to accommodate any requests. The room itself is large, very roomy, and also nice and warm; it wasn't cold at all staying there in winter. The off-season price wasn't expensive either. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm around!

The room is well-equipped, comfortable and warm, with warm and thoughtful service. The hot water is easy to use, the heating is sufficient, there is floor heating, free parking, and it is only a five-minute walk from the central commercial street. I stayed there during the New Year's Eve, it was very lively outside, and there was a Qingdao specialty restaurant downstairs.

The breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, and the staff were quick to replenish any items that ran out. The lobby on the first floor has a coffee bar and a reading room, offering plenty of space to relax and unwind. It's very close to Shilaoren Beach, and Fushan Forest Park is also nearby, which is great for kids. The room was very clean. Choosing Atour for my travels has always been a decision I don't regret. After 9:30 PM, they even offer congee and pickled vegetables, which was perfect since it was raining – a warm bowl of congee hit the spot after coming back in the evening.

The lady at the front desk was so attentive to detail and genuinely friendly. The breakfast was exquisite, delicious, and offered a great variety. They also have a laundry room, and I even got to use the printer in the lobby for free when I needed to print some documents.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Taidong Pedestrian Street, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. It's about a 20-minute taxi ride from Qingdao Station. Secondly, regarding service, the floor attendant on the 5th floor was exceptional – very thoughtful and patient. Thumbs up to her! As for the front desk, generally, the male staff were more enthusiastic and had brighter smiles than the female staff. The room size was perfect; enough space for two adults and one child, and the 2.4-meter king bed was incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was good, especially the wontons. Although the gym isn't huge, it has all the essential equipment, sufficient for a daily workout. They even thoughtfully provide alcohol wipes on each machine, which is a really nice touch. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Qingdao.
