Hilton Qingdao Golden Beach

It would be perfect if one of the beds in the family twin room could be replaced with a 1.5-meter or 1.8-meter bed. Everything else was very satisfactory. Golden Beach is just across the road, so after playing all day, we could come back to the hotel, freshen up, and then head straight down for the buffet or hot pot. It's definitely worth booking breakfast when you reserve your room; there's a wide variety of Chinese and Western options, and it's both abundant and delicious.

Every time I visit Qingdao, I stay here. It's very close to Beer City and right by the sea, which is super convenient. The breakfast is abundant, and I want to thank the staff at reception – they were very warm and friendly.

The service, food, and activities were all great, but the facilities are simply too old! I can't believe that for a room costing over 1300 a night, the metal fixtures were rusty, the bathroom mirror was corroded, the cabinets had mold, and the vanity box was practically falling apart. It's even worse than an average budget hotel...

The hairdryer in the room was broken; it tripped the circuit mid-use and wouldn't turn back on. The mini-bar in the room hadn't been cleaned and still had a plastic bag left by a previous guest. The bathtub for the watermelon bath had lukewarm, not hot, water. Aside from that, the hotel environment was quite good, and the room's location was also decent. The sea view from the terrace was beautiful, and the pool was pretty nice too. Breakfast was very crowded, and the dining environment was just average.

The environment is pretty good, and there's Nanmen Hotpot downstairs! Too bad I didn't get a chance to upgrade my room, but I could still see a bit of the sea from it.

The hotel lobby features a magnificent domed ceiling with a traditional 'Sunmao' (mortise and tenon) wooden structure, and there's an outdoor pool. A garden gate provides direct access to Golden Beach and Beer City. However, since the hotel rooms have been in operation for 12 years, they feel a bit dated. Parking is also crowded and chaotic.

The room was extremely old and outdated. While it's pet-friendly, we booked a twin room and were charged an extra 260 for a cleaning fee. I don't mind the cleaning fee, but the moment we entered the room, there was a strong, unpleasant odor. I really don't understand the purpose of that cleaning fee! (It was nowhere near as clean as other hotels we've stayed in for 300-400 yuan a night that didn't even charge a cleaning fee!) Plus, being on the first floor, the room was incredibly damp; the sheets and duvet felt like they hadn't been dried properly! The breakfast buffet, at 198 per person, was also very mediocre... In short, I absolutely do not recommend this place!

This hotel feels nothing like a Hilton. It's a mixed bag, but personally, I wouldn't highly recommend it. The room was quite large, the bed was comfortable, the hotel itself was spacious, and breakfast was good. However, the room was very dirty and had a strong musty smell. Plus, it's a 15-minute walk to Golden Beach. So, I wouldn't really recommend it.

Overall, the service experience at Hilton Qingdao Golden Beach was decent. The only drawbacks were the slightly outdated facilities and decor in both the guest rooms and public areas, with room for improvement in routine maintenance details. The outdoor pool, with a maximum depth of around 1.4 meters, is better suited for younger children to play in, but occasional debris floating in the pool was unappealing. The indoor pool, however, had good water quality, though the changing rooms and showers also showed signs of aging. The hotel breakfast offered a rich variety of choices. The executive lounge at night featured a live singer, creating a wonderful atmosphere. In the evenings, outdoor movies were shown by the outdoor pool area, complete with lighting and scenic decorations, making for a very relaxing leisure experience. The hotel is only about a ten-minute walk from Golden Beach, making beach visits very convenient. Several highly-rated seafood restaurants are also located nearby, offering convenient dining and transportation options.
