I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. While the service was decent, there are several quirks and issues that future guests should be aware of before booking.
The Downsides:
- Location & Accessibility: The hotel is tucked away from the main road. Taxis cannot drive all the way to the front lobby, so you will have to walk a bit with your luggage.
- Slow Check-in: The check-in process took quite a while, seemingly because the staff is not yet fully accustomed to handling international/foreign guests.
- The "Non-Smoking" Room Issue: I booked a non-smoking room, but upon entering, the room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. I even found two cigarette butts on the floor (one by the window, one near the bathroom). I immediately asked to change rooms, only to be informed that the hotel actually does not have any non-smoking rooms at all.
- The Elevator Nightmare: The hotel shares a 28-story building with another hotel, but there is only one elevator servicing the entire building. Waiting for the lift requires a massive amount of patience.
- Tiny Restaurant: The hotel restaurant is incredibly cramped—honestly the smallest hotel restaurant I have ever seen. Because of the size, the breakfast buffet selection is very limited and just standard.
The Upsides:
- Good Service: The staff members were polite and tried their best to be helpful.
- Laundry Room: They have a very convenient laundry room equipped with two washer/dryer units, which was a huge plus for a 5-night stay.
Verdict: If you just need a place to sleep and don't mind the elevator wait or the smoke policy, the service is good. However, if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke or in a rush, you might want to look elsewhere.
