The tatami tea corner by the window offered a cozy spot for relaxation. Smart devices allowed for voice control, perfectly combining modern comfort with ancient elegance. The family breakfast in the morning was wonderfully authentic. Plus, it's just a few minutes' walk to West Street, Kaiyuan Temple, and the Bell Tower, making it super convenient for sightseeing and grabbing a bite. As a seasoned traveler, I thought I could easily predict the guesthouse's breakfast offerings: either A, B, or C... So, I woke up at 6 AM and headed straight to the old market to try various old establishments, filling myself up first, and then bringing back what my girlfriend likes to eat for her. After eating our fill, I was surprised when I entered the guesthouse and saw the chef busy preparing breakfast in the first courtyard. After one bite, I was stunned; every single dish was incredibly delicious. So, despite the risk of my blood sugar skyrocketing, I went for a second round and cleared my plate! [Color]

This inn is super close to West Street, just a few steps away. It's a beautiful place, a preserved Qing Dynasty building with three courtyards, and the interior decor is exquisite. They serve breakfast, and the auntie makes a delicious fresh-cooked porridge. The room isn't huge, it's a split-level loft, but the facilities are quite new, and it's fully smart-enabled. The shower has great water pressure and is very convenient.

The duplex tatami king room I stayed in was an even bigger surprise; the wooden staircase connecting the upper and lower levels created a clever and stylish space. The room was clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. Sipping a pot of tea and chatting in the courtyard, the unhurried pace of Minnan life instantly returned. Just a few steps out, you can catch a 'little white car' for 2 yuan per person, which takes you directly to all the ancient city attractions like Kaiyuan Temple, Chengtian Temple, Guandi Temple, and Qingjing Temple. The transportation is incredibly convenient. As a World Heritage City, Quanzhou's rich cultural heritage is fully showcased around West Street. After a tiring day of exploring, returning to the inn feels like coming home to a warm harbor. Today I'm staying at Shangqinglou in Quanzhou. It's a Qing Dynasty courtyard inn, and I've heard many overseas Chinese prefer staying here when they return. Both the front and back quadrangles are very charming and antique. There are tea-making spots everywhere in the courtyard. It also features an open kitchen and a study. Today was self-check-in, and the only staff member in the entire courtyard was a little dog named Xiaobai. All the room's amenities, like the air conditioning and lights, can be voice-controlled via 'Xiao Ai' (a smart assistant), and it even has a smart toilet. This truly blends ancient and modern elements. Is Quanzhou's West Street nightlife that vibrant? Even at 11 PM, the West Street night market actually gets livelier as the night goes on. When I came back so late to sleep, the courtyard still had a light left on for me. As soon as I returned, I saw the dog lying asleep on a chair – so heartwarming. Shangqinglou, the Qing Dynasty courtyard inn, was fully booked tonight as well.

We chose this Qing Dynasty courtyard inn for our family trip with the kids, and to our surprise, they absolutely loved it! They said this guesthouse was really unique and felt much more comfortable than a regular hotel. The environment is quaint and elegant, and the staff are incredibly warm and helpful. The breakfast's Manjian gao (a type of pancake) was delicious and very Fujianese, and the sweet potatoes were exceptionally sweet. The kids are already asking to come back again!

This guesthouse is designed in the traditional 'three courtyards, four sections' (san jin si he yuan) layout. The bluestone slabs, wooden beams and columns, and carved windows make you feel like you've stepped back in time the moment you enter. The entire house is controlled by voice, allowing you to turn on/off lights, adjust the air conditioning, and draw curtains, enjoying smart living within an ancient, charming courtyard – a wonderful contrast. The guesthouse was much cleaner than I expected. The bedding was soft, and there wasn't a speck of dust even in the corners. The location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk to the core attractions of West Street, so you can easily pop back to rest whenever you get tired of exploring. Upon check-in, the owner recommended some lesser-known local eateries and travel routes. The breakfast is an authentic local specialty; the congee, side dishes, and freshly made pastries all taste wonderfully homemade. When the sunlight streams into the courtyard, illuminating the lush greenery, I love sitting on the stone bench and just daydreaming, feeling myself slow down completely. I will always love Quanzhou.

A duplex B&B with a courtyard – breakfast and a tatami mat, I'm absolutely in love! Seriously, who gets it?! You push open the wooden door to your own private courtyard, wake up to sunshine and birdsong in the morning, and the housekeeper has already set out breakfast on the stone table 🥛. Walking into the room, I was immediately blown away! The duplex loft layout has such a great vibe. Just say "Xiao Ai Tong Xue" and it turns on the lights, plays music, and adjusts the AC – super high-tech and incredibly convenient. The soft tatami twin beds upstairs are perfect for snuggling up and watching a movie at night; the sense of security is just off the charts!

It has both a front and a back courtyard, and when you look up, you see an incredibly blue sky. I really love this quiet and cozy courtyard. I woke up at seven and had a traditional Southern Fujian breakfast. Drank a hot coffee ☕️ with a little milk. Xiao Bai (the cat/dog) was quietly趴 on the stone slab. I stayed in the 'Lily' room for two days and one night. The guesthouse environment is rustic and comfortable, a duplex with wooden furniture. In the morning, you can sit and steep tea; the morning sun is very gentle. The guesthouse owner is very kind and treats guests wonderfully~ The meals cooked by the guesthouse housekeeper auntie are truly delicious and satisfying. Please cherish the short time you spend here. I love Quanzhou's slow-paced life, and I especially love the relaxed rhythm here.

I stayed one night at Shangqinglou in Quanzhou. This guesthouse, converted from a Qing Dynasty ancient residence, is incredibly stylish – perfect for photos day and night! The owner was super enthusiastic, even cooking for us. The slippers and toothbrushes were top-notch quality, and they even provided earplugs! The smart home features were very convenient, and the complimentary breakfast was abundant and delicious. Plus, they deliver takeout right to your room. If you're coming to Quanzhou, staying here is an absolutely amazing experience!

The B&B has a huge courtyard and I absolutely love its wooden-themed loft! The location is fantastic! It's right behind West Street, so you're there as soon as you step out the door.
