Hotel Pur, Quebec, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Hotel Pur, Quebec, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Quebec City|1.89km from city centre
The PUR Hotel Quebec is located off Charest Blvd, near Old Quebec. It's a less popular area yet features some great restaurants and boulangeries (bakeries) within walking distance on St. Joseph St. which runs adjacent to the Hotel. I recommend Tora Ya Ramen and Le Bureau De Poste. Also the Le Croquembouche boulangerie is a must visit (the pastries are amazing). Ok on to the Hotel: Our room was on the 16th floor and was very clean and modern. It was quite large and had big floor-length window that provided lots of natural light and an excellent view of St. Joseph St. - The king-size bed was a little soft, but quite comfortable with excellent down (or alternative-down) pillows - The desk was adequate size but I found the chair a little hard to sit on. Also, the desk light did not function, but the other room lights worked well and provided comfortable ambience. - There was a desk phone on one of the bed side tables. A nice feature that seems to be quickly disappearing form many hotels. - A wall-mounted 50 inch LG TV had a good channel selection compared to other hotels that I've stayed at in Quebec. - The outside of the closet door was covered in a great floor-length mirror. - The HVAC worked well with a quiet fan and the controls were easy to operate. Bathroom - I'm sure I'll sound crazy here but the bathroom HAS A DOOR, which, I assume due to recent design trends, seems to be missing in a lot of upscale hotels I've stayed in recently. - The vanity is a good size with lots of room for personal items and there are separate lighted areas for the vanity and shower/tub. - The sink had, in my opinion, an awkwardly located faucet at the side of the sink but it worked fine with good water pressure and the quick enough temperature change. - Under the vanity there was a hair dryer provided. - The shower/tub had a removable handheld shower mounted on a adjustable vertical tube which provided a good even spray with plenty of water pressure. The controls were pretty easy to use with separate dials for on/off/diverter and temperature control. Also the acrylic soaker tub was nice and deep. - The bathroom amenities were provided by Lockwood. The body wash, shampoo and conditioner were wall-mounted in the shower and were excellent. The hand/body lotion and soap located on the vanity were fantastic also. Lastly, I should point out that I found the towels to be soft and absorbent. I wouldn't exactly call them luxurious, but very close. Staff Staff were helpful and friendly and I received my room key in a short time. Restaurant - the hotel has a Van Houtte cafe and a restaurant but we did not eat at either location. TRAVEL TIP Hotel parking costs ~$27/day. Park across the street at the Indigo Public Parking for only $16/day

Hotel Manoir Victoria

Hotel Manoir Victoria

Quebec City|2.73km from city centre
It’s a nice hotel located in the Old City around the corner from a very popular restaurant street, Rue Saint-Jean. This street is a pedestrian mall most of the day & night and there are dozens of restaurants to choose. I had a large room overlooking the pedestrian street although there was an annoying support column in the middle of the room. Windows are double glazed so there is very little noise. The queen size bed (there were two in my room for a solo stay) was soft but comfortable. A good size bathroom with a big walk in shower. The room is decorated with a recent a modern design. Black is the popular colour. There is free wifi but it pretty slow which is very disappointing for a hotel of this standard.. The TV channel choices are also not great. Like many hotels at the moment there is minimal serving of the room. I stayed 5 nights and had my room serviced only once. And when it was serviced no replacement of bathroom accessories were left. I keep hearing that it is due to staff shortages because of Covid but when paying hundreds of dollars a night it is not unreasonable to expect a more regular service, maybe ever other night. One wonders whether it’s just another excuse to find a way of saving money by the hotel. Service generally at the hotel is not great. There is minimal staff on the front desk. And there are a mass of steps from the street to reception & it is difficult to find a person to help get suitcases up and down the stairs. Overall comfortable & convenient location but would have been even better with an upgrade in hotel service & a friendlier attitude overall.

Le Bonne Entente

Quebec City|7.31km from city centre

Quebec City|0.07km from Basse-Ville
We travelled to Quebec City with friends for 4 nights, 5 days. We booked the Hotel Le Saint Paul as the price was amazing for 4 days including breakfast. Parking was extra at 14.00/night and was located across the street beside the Esso gas staton. Our rooms were clean, spacious and there was not a lot of noise, we were on the 1st floor, rooms 215/216. Room 215 had a fireplace and a little bit more room our room was 216, it was smaller but had a great view out front. Breakfast was included and they had a section on the menu for you to choose from. They offered 1 egg, bacon and hash browns or 2 eggs and hash browns or a mushroom omelet with hash browns or crepes with hash browns or suit and yogurt, coffee, tea or juice. All the meals came with toast and fruit. You could also order off the menu and pay if the choices were not what you wanted. The location of the hotel was great, close to the cobblestone roads, shops, pubs and attractions. I would recommend this hotel. Check in was quick and easy and the staff there do speak English. The restaurant staff were great as was the service. They are closed Sunday and Monday for dinner but open for breakfast. I was not happy with the cleaning staff as they would put the tip envelope on the bed everyday off of the table, we had planned on tipping at the end of the stay but instead put the do not disturb sign on the door so they wouldn't come in. The rooms did come with a mini fridge, K cup coffee maker, hairdryer and amenities.

Hotel du Vieux Quebec

We spent three nights at this property last week and we are so glad we did. Our room was pristine and spacious--and quiet. We were on the second level (considered the first) and we couldn't hear any sounds from the street, hallway or neighboring rooms. We were early for check-in so we parked on a nearby street and had a great lunch at the restaurant that shares the entrance with the hotel, Bistro Hortus (not sure if they are related but convenient and delicious option if you need to eat during your stay). While eating lunch the restaurant texted to say our room was ready and we pulled up on the side small street and checked in and unloaded our bags. We were given a ticket for a parking garage that was diagonal to the hotel. It really couldn't have been easier. We were able to take the car out at our convenience--which we did to visit Montmorency Falls and Ile d'Orleans (loved both, easy drive). We enjoyed the common room---we filled our water jugs (they have them to borrow too), enjoyed complimentary espressos, played Scrabble and borrowed a book. It really was a nice spot if you needed to just sit after a long day of exploring the city by foot (or bike). The location was perfect for us. We would set out and purposely get lost--or we would head to a specific restaurant or historic site and they were all walkable. Although we didn't need help with restaurants the staff seemed really helpful with recommendations. And they were very friendly every time we interacted with them. If you like sushi, Masaru is a few doors down and I am still thinking about it. It was excellent and a nice break from the cuisine we were (really!) enjoying. We also had wonderful dinners at Chez Rioux & Pettigrew, Legende and Ophelia. All walkable. We would definitely stay here again. A real gem of a property in a welcoming and beautiful city.

The surrounding roads are under construction, and there are seven and eight doors. But the interior of the hotel is very good, clean and comfortable, and you can swim and soak in hot springs for free. The luggage elevator on the half-story floor is too bad. It takes a lot of effort to open a door. You have to take luck to open it.

The room is not too big, but the bed is very big, one double for three people, the bathroom is big enough; there is always hot water and coffee, there is drink in the morning; during the stay, it should be the Italian restaurant under the same company. Discount breakfast coupons, recommended to eat, add a tip, tax or something, a person more than ten Canadian dollars, the value; parking free, a few simple meals around; a few kilometers from the old city, but it is not far. Very satisfied.

I booked this hotel the night prior. I wasn’t expecting much since i never heard of this place, let alone was a last minute booking. But much to our surprise, it turns out memorable for our family. It was very “homey”, it reminds me of another hotel we booked from the past in Venice, its small but very central, it comes with breakfast and their tiny dining area is cute. The front desk is friendly and personable, its why we enjoyed boutique hotels in the first place. They have their own parking, make sure that after you made a reservation that you call them right away to save you a spot. They have a vending machine for wines and other provisions too. No problem coming back to this hotel next time again.
Hotel et Motel le Chateauguay

Good price/performance ratio. I stayed for two nights, just beside Highway 138 and 404, so although it is a suburb, it is very convenient to get into the city. It takes 20 minutes to get to the old city and not far from Crystal Falls. The facilities are complete and convenient. The front desk was very enthusiastic. We asked Tadosac about the situation and enthusiastically helped us.
Le Chateau de Pierre

The hotel location was close to Old Quebec so it has high accessibility to these places of interest. However, it would not be recommended to those who do not have transportation available if carrying large luggage or have difficulty going uphill as the hotel is situated on a slope. Do note that as this is a virtual hotel, so there is no staff onsite but they are contactable via the phone number provided and are happy to assist you. Ground floor rooms are located down the stairs from the main area.
