Auberge St-Louis

We had a room for 4, but really the sofa could only be for 1 as it was not comfortable and the support was not good on one half (that people sit on). We barely had hot water. It seems all rooms shared the same hot water tank or something so for a family of 4 we couldn't wash. Our bathroom sink also didn't drain properly. We tried to get a refund to change hotels based on our issues but we were denied our request. While the location is amazing I wouldn't stay here again.

The 1 star is only for great location and nice personnel. This hotel is TERRIBLE!!! We reserved a room for three people but we got a bed and a futon instead of two beds. The blankets were dirty and the bathroom was small and uncomfortable and the hot water was difficult to manage. There was a shared toilet next to our bed witch made it very noisy at night. Some stairs were uneven and dangerous to walk on. We payed $170/night + taxes (overall $700 for this)! Unbelievable! I recommend anyone visiting Quebec City to avoid this hotel at all costs.

It was a great stay, it does get really cold though, but it was cheap and right in the middle of all the beautiful restaurants and shops of Old Quebec.

The common areas were not heated for the 3 nights stay. No one attended the room for 3 days.

We got the room with the bunk bed, so this review is specific to that. If you want to visit Old Quebec on a budget, this is the place for you! The hotel is right in the heart of Old Quebec, about a block from the Chateau Frontenac. It's surrounded by shops, restaurants, and the beauty of the city. We parked at the Stationnement SPAQ - Hôtel de Ville heated garage under City Hall, about 3 or 4 blocks away. If you agree that enjoying the city is the reason to go to Old Quebec, you may enjoy the room. It's basic and small, but it's got everything you need and none of what you don't. It's a place to sleep, change and shower. The rest can be done at the shops & restaurants. The room we had didn't have a lot of space for 2 of us to manoeuvre, so if you're a particularly girthy individual or have mobility issues, you may find it a bit challenging. The hotel is clean as a whistle and well maintained. I gave everything 5 stars except the staff & service, which I gave 4 stars, but only because we got in late and left early, so we didn't get a chance to meet anyone in person. However, they communicated with us well and left clear instructions for how to let ourselves in, as reception is not open 24 hours. In summation, I would definitely stay here again!

Bunk bed room was tiny but fun-like a dorm room. Bathroom was like a closet but facilities were adequate. Would not recommend for larger people though as the space is almost laughable. Over all we enjoyed the uniqueness of our stay and loved being in the heart of Old Quebec. If you’re looking for a budget friendly home base and don’t need luxury it’s a fun place to stay! Check in was easy and staff was friendly.

Dumpy & threadbare. However room and bath were good size and clean. Was quiet enough. Desks people spoke some English. Location, though, is superb. Couldn’t be better.
