Hotel Jardin du Gouverneur

Initially hesitant due to mixed reviews, my stay at Hotel Jardin Du Gouverneur turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The spacious and spotless rooms, coupled with a serene atmosphere, provided a comfortable retreat. The incredible location only enhanced the overall experience. While reception was unmanned upon our arrival, clear and accessible instructions, along with our key cards, were provided in an envelope. Practical details for nearby parking were also included. The staircase challenge, mentioned in reviews, is valid, but ground-floor options are available upon request. Despite this, I was thoroughly delighted with the hotel and would gladly return. We loved the historic features of the property. It was very clean and tidy. Despite limited front desk hours, the property gave a number just in case, and we appreciated the safety features of the building. We liked the privacy. The location is incredible, with parking was very close by. We've been to Quebec City many times, but this was our first stay at this property. We loved our stay and will definitely go back to Hôtel Jardin Du Gouverneur.

Location of the place is perfect and fantastic. But it is way too pricey for what you get. Room and toilet were very small and quite dark, pictures need to be updated. We had a balcony but not accessible and it was locked, and the window is very narrow: paying for these false addition was NOT appreciated. No cleaning services included. No parking (while it is noted on the site, that also means additional costs). There is a need for improvement to meet the price it is asking. Really wish we had looked around to find a better price/quality balance place.

It was located right next to everything, super walkable! nice clean and spacious room ! Amazing service !!!

This hotel was clean, very close to the Christmas markets, with a generous size room. The hotel didn’t offer housekeeping services, the coffee machine was very convenient and the coffee was good. However there were times when there were no cups. There were lots of restaurants around for breakfast and dinner.

I always love staying here. Seamless and easy check-in, clean facilities, great location in the old walled city. Nice little touches and great value for the price. Quiet, the way I like it. See you again soon and keep up the great work!

The best thing wit this hotels is its location, very close to the old town. The hotel room was so so wit a very small bathroom and shower which leaked water onto the bathroom floor.

Very good location, however facilities are very basic. Firstly there are no stairs to the upper levels so we carried 4 luggages up ourselves, secondly theres no laundry facility at the place despite it being stated on *******. The toilet had poor flushing so we had to use plunger ourselves on a few occasions. Overall fairly poor for the money you pay.

You’re paying for the location!! It borders the Chateau Frontenac, and is a 2 minute walk to the Dufferin Terrace. It’s super close to everything (food, shopping, and attractions) and feels very safe. However, the condition of the property is lacking, and needs attention to the building maintenance (especially in the bathroom). The room could also use a more thorough clean as there was mould all over the shower, the sink was slow draining, the cabinets were dusty, and the sheets had some small rips in them. Overall a good stay, with kind and helpful staff. Don’t expect too much in terms of the room, it’s a place to lay your head. I have nothing to complain about the location. It was super easy to spend all day out, or come back if you needed a short break before heading out again for the evening. If you value time and location, and don’t mind the property conditions lacking in some places, then this could be the place for you. But if you like to have a nice room to relax and spend time in, choose another property.
