North House - Auberge la Chouette Hôtel Automatisé Reviews

I was booked by trip.com but they send check-in email to *******, so I was difficult to check in but tidy and easy to sightseeing quebec.

Overall good stay. It's a self service hotel, which wasn't clear on the hotels description, upon arrival I didn't have the self-checkin instructions but I called the hotel number and they were quick to send me an email and even allow me to check-in earlier. Check-out was also really easy and I was even able to check-out later too. Only downside was that there wasn't an option for breakfast as it states on the hotel description. It would've been great if there were mugs or cups in the room and a plus if there was also a selection of teas as complementary. There was no where nearby that I could get a bottle of water or a hot drink, so it'd have been nice to have something in the room. Lastly for any light sleepers - the building is not sound proof so you can easily hear other guests talking in the corridor or going up the stairs etc. Other than that good stay overall - thank you Auberge la Chouette

- Fully self-service hotel with no services - The ceiling light in the room was broken - The house was under construction when I entered, so I didn't feel safe. The wooden structure was not soundproof, and I could hear the construction noise and see the workers during the day - Not sure if all the pillowcases were changed, there was a common North American men's perfume smell (help me, really) - I think the bathroom is quite small, because the house itself is an old building and you can still see some traces of time... (taste it yourself)

I booked this place after reading the reviews and it scored very high. You have to go up two flights of stairs with a password to check in. There is no elevator. The stairs are very steep and narrow. It is not recommended if you have large and heavy luggage. The location of the hotel is good, the room is relatively large, and the view outside the window is good. But it is really tiring to walk up two flights of stairs with luggage. And parking is not convenient. The price/performance ratio is not high. The chandelier bulb in the room is broken and flickers. There is a small spot on the bed sheets. There were blood stains. I regret booking this hotel after reading other people's reviews. I don't understand why it scored so high. Because it is a very old house, the floor of the room is very uneven and tilts 10 degrees to one side. The bed is placed on the side and it feels like sleeping on a small slope. I will feel dizzy after standing for a long time because I stand on an inclined place for a long time. I am very doubtful. Is there a problem with the structure of the house? The bathroom door is old and difficult to open and close.
