Queenstown Gateway Apartments

We booked at the end of December 2023 for a stay in early March. Just before we were due to fly in, we received an email advising our credit card was invalid which it was not. No response from them after several phone calls, emails. Events in QT=more $$.

Like others have said. I had a booking cancelled at the last minute. This was meant to be my last night with my son before he flew back to Perth and instead we had to drive through from Dunedin the morning of his flight because they cancelled my booking with a bs excuse about a credit card that had 10x the amount needed available on it. I then saw the room readvertised for twice the price. They will not answer their phone or reply to emails. I am beyond angry.

I recently stayed at the Queenstown Gateway Motel for a weekend gateway The motel's location is pretty handy around the city center. The room, though modestly sized, was clean and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The staff was friendly and accommodating, addressing my concerns promptly. I would consider staying here again for my next visit and I highly received this place to my friends and family.

DON’T GET SCAMMED! AVOID THIS ACCOMMODATION. The whole unit where we stayed was so stinky and smelled like a strong body odour. The bathroom was disgusting; walls were stained with dirt, the curtains and carpet were filthy, and the cutlery was not washed properly. The lady at the reception was very dishonest, and unbelievably rude. She got furious when I asked for a receipt from the courier that she could not produce because she overpriced it and redirected the parcel with my left-over stuff back to them, and she wants me to pick up my stuff personally. A typical move from a shameless scammer. What an inconvenience on my part since I am 500 kms. away from Queenstown. I also paid for their time to send my stuff. I received several very rude and unprofessional email messages from her as well. She intentionally hung up the phone on me 3x. She does not want to get my address over the phone because she said they are very busy. So far, the worst accommodation I’ve stayed in.

It was supposedly a happy weekend in Queenstown, but it turned out to be the worst experience on vacation. The room was unpleasant, extremely dirty, mouldy, and very stinky. What's unacceptable is that the apartment manager was very rude, not helpful, and gave us a very hard time with our stuff left in the apartment. This place is poorly managed and seriously needs to assess options for improving general cleanliness and management change.

The instructions for access to our apartment on late arrival were as expected. The missing light bulbs in bed lamps were replaced as requested. The apartment needs to be removed from the available list for general maintenance including broken TV's, leds unable to be read on remotes, broken shower head, poor presentation of bathroom and torn drapes.

This motel was a disgrace. It is a health hazard and filthy . We asked for a different unit as the one we were allocated to was dirty mouldy with black hand marks up the walls and stains in bathroom bedding couches carpets and bathroom. We were given an upgrade however this was not an improvement with dirty marks up the walls and broken kitchen units . At night as we put our children to bed my daughter pulled the blind back to look out of the window and saw the back of the blind was thick black mould. We packed everything up booked into another hotel at 10pm .We contacted the manager prior check out and asked for a refund for the two nights we booked due to these disgusting conditions and showed her the blind. We were only refunded one night .

DO NOT STAY Here. Absolutely disgusting experience with this business. Booked through *********** and was given a confirmation email weeks out. Arrived at check in time only to find no one at reception and a number to call. I called the number only to be told I did not have a room. The person was rude and did not have any form of empathy towards my situation. They also hung up on me(the customer) Imagine being the customer with kids or other dependents, thinking you had booked only to find this. DO NOT STAY Here.
