Pet-friendly Hotels in Quito

First of all, the Hilton Colon - like most Hiltons outside the U.S. - is far superior to equivalent Hilton properties in the States. Relatively clean rooms (no stray hairs anywhere!), comfortable bed, great shower water pressure, clean towels, nice and cozy executive lounge, etc. The room, and the property in general, is dated but things mostly work as they should. In the Southwest facing ”executive” king room, and in the executive lounge, the views of the city are spectacular. Unfortunately, the ”free” breakfast buffet is slop, with the most atrocious coffee in Quito. The exception is the made-to-order egg station and the nice gentleman who expertly cooks them. Bring your own coffee from one of the countless cafes nearby and then order just the eggs and some toast. Or, better yet, get an authentic Ecuadorian breakfast elsewhere for just a few dollars. There was extensive road construction going on during my stay on Avenida Patria, which is the main road adjacent to the South side of the property. Very loud during the day, and bright spot-lights aimed at the hotel were left on during the night for some perplexing reason. Not the hotel's fault, of course - just something to be aware of if planning to stay here in the near future. Lastly, the front desk receptionists at this hotel reminded me of the female customs agents at Quito airport. Not friendly for sure, and rather stern. On the other hand, many other staff members, housekeeping in particular, were kind and helpful. Would I stay here again? I think so, once the road construction is completed.

Very quaint and clean hotel in Quito. Room 24 is up 3 floors kind of outside to get in. the room is kind of small with 2 twin beds and a small bathroom. Be prepared to climb stairs wow what a workout with luagge. No elevators in building. This place has all these cool places to sit around here. The place is gated. This place provides a hair dryer in the room as well as Shampoo and body wash. the place also has a safe built in room. Breakfest was so yummy cornflakes, oats, yogurt, scrambmed eggs with ham, toast, fresh juice. I would stay here again.. Silvia really does an amazing job running this place.

My husband kept raving about this hotel. Ignore any negative reviews you might spot here. Front desk staff were attentive and pretty fluent in English (although it’s presumptive to expect that wherever we travel). The hotel is on a quiet street for Quito and had double-glazed windows (unusual in this temperate climate) so it was super quiet. I got there at night and closed the heavy drapes; only in the morning did I discover there were blackout shades, too — a nice touch. Abundant hot water (not always a given in Ecuador) and a spacious room. This hotel felt very luxurious to us. The pool and workout area, which we did not have time to use, was amazingly well appointed. Breakfast buffet was pretty varied and phenomenal as well. We felt pretty spoiled staying here. When we were there the English Ambassador and his entourage were also staying there, so I think it’s considered to be a pretty good place.

I highly recommend staying at the NH Quito hotel. The service is excellent and the food is of very good quality. Dinner-Chef Jonnathan personally serves guests at their table and all three meals during the week were excellent. The dedication and hard work of the entire staff is evident in the effort they put into making guests feel at home. The pillows are great and the room service is also very good.

We usually try to stay at Marriott properties when travelling as we know what we are likely to get and my Platinum Elite status normally brings some extras. We had arrived into Quito on a late flight so it was around 1am when we were checking in - quite a simple process and the receptionist gave us a quick rundown on the hotels facilities before we went up to our room. The room and bathroom were reasonably spacious and were fine for the 2 nights we stayed. The bed was especially comfortable. Breakfast was a good selection on the ground floor with an egg station to go with a cooked breakfast. Unfortunately they hadn’t switched on the electric warming plate under the sausage and bacon so it was cold which took away the pleasure somewhat. They do have a lounge available to those on the club floors and Platinum members but the receptionist hadn’t given us the correct keycard so had to change it before we could enter. A few snacks and drinks available in the afternoon and 2 or 3 cooked items in the evening. We didn’t eat dinner in their restaurant as they are a number of other restaurants nearby. Overall a good stay with room for some improvement.

The room was also said in the past, but the level of facilities was too low. Especially the quality of the bed and the bedding were old and uncomfortable, which was very important for travelers. The overall style is distinctive, but for underdeveloped areas and countries, this personalized residential house still needs to remind travelers to consider carefully. Moreover, in terms of cost performance, it is not very cost-effective. Several service lads are very good and very intimate. Must give them a thumbs up?

Very convenient to the airport, and you can arrange shuttle/taxi service to and from the airport through the hotel for $10 each way. They were very responsive through *********** messaging and are so friendly in person. The included breakfast is excellent, and you can also have dinner at a reasonable additional cost—just let them know at breakfast if you'll want dinner that night. I loved my little room! Very cozy, and WiFi worked well. The property is lovely to spend time on. It's warmer here than in the actual city of Quito, so the pool is a nice perk, and they have a quiet, peaceful gazebo that was pleasant to sit and read and journal in. There's a sweet little pond near the main building with interesting-looking ducks. A step outside of the property takes you to nice views of a deep gorge cut by a river. This is a family-run business, and it was so nice to get to meet all of them—including the cat! Not everyone there speaks English, so if you don't know Spanish well, be prepared with Google Translate or similar. I look forward to staying at Hosteria Colibri Aeropuerto again in the future. You're close to the airport, so it's only natural that once in a while you'll hear the loud roar of an airplane engine—but they didn't come by as frequently as I'd have thought, and the sleeping hours were quiet. During the day, it was pretty cool to watch the planes flying overhead.

The courtesy of the staff really stood out to me. Everyone was friendly, helpful and pleasant. It was a refreshing place to stay on my return trip to the United States. From when the moment we got off the plane we were greeted at a holiday inn staff member and helped direct us to our shuttle. Getting off a plane in a foreign country is disorienting, and this was super helpful. The room had everything I needed for a comfortable nights stay, and coffee in the room was a nice way to wake up. I highly recommend this holiday inn.
