Va'a i te Moana

Great experience, the place was fabulous. Clean, safe, with amazing people and the host was so welcoming. I stayed there 4 nights and it was perfect. It's really well located in the island, and you can even borrow a bike for free.

Va’a i te Moana was a wonderful experience! We enjoyed our bungalow very much, and our host Cynthia was so happy to greet us and offer some recommendations each morning during breakfast for our daily adventures. The location is a very easy walk to Tiputa Pass to watch dolphins and to enjoy a range of meals, from simple pizza to fancy 3 course dinners. Cynthia’s breakfasts (coconut bread, coffee, fruit juice, pancakes, yogurt, tropical fruit jam and marmalade) were always a delicious way to begin every day! We visited in the summer (mid-December) and it was very hot, but Cynthia was happy to let us use an extra fan for our bungalow since they are not air conditioned. If the rooms did have air conditioning, it would have been perfect! We appreciated the small refrigerator in our room to keep our water cold and we had everything to make morning coffee in our bungalow. The free bicycles to use were rusty but they worked for us and were charming for the island experience! Cynthia was incredible- we thank her very much for an amazing stay on Rangiroa. We highly recommend Va’a i te Moana!

A couple of nice bungalows near the ocean reef. Location to the main pier within bicycle distance for tours. Breakfast only option on site. General store nearby. A couple of lunch and dinner options nearby. Cynthia the hostess is energetic and accommodating. Fits the travel niche of the quiet retreat with WiFi.

First Visit to Rangiroa Amazing little Pension tucked away off the road, the room was a three bed and we were all female which was pleasant. Easy to get to from the airport either in a taxi (10 minutes) or on foot if you wish (50 minutes). Shared shower, toilet and fridge with an outdoor gas cooker. Only thing to remember is your mosquito repellent and bite cream, they are everywhere.

Nice quiet location, walking distance to the dolphin lookout. Big sun decks on each cottage, good sized cottages, firm mattress. Free bicycles. Owners are lovely and readily make dinner reservations at nearby restaurants. Both breakfast and dinner (dinner is extra $) are fresh and tasty and in good quantity. No A/C, but close to ocean and fans do the trick. Walking distance to 2 stores and 2 great restaurants (Lilly's and Chez Josephine). Unfortunately the paint is peeling severely both inside and outside. Rooms need to be swept daily to keep the mess to a minimum. Gives the place a very sad and worn appearance-- which is a shame because it's otherwise very lovely.

We spent 5 nights at Va'a i te Moana and it was lovely. Very big, clean and modern bungalows, super delicious, fresh breakfast and dinner, gracious hosts, bicycles which we were allowed to use at any time and are perfect for exploring the island, perfectly located near the Tiputa pass and the village, very helpful in arranging Excursions etc. Thank you very much for everything, we can highly recommend you and wish you all the best!
