My wife and I stayed one night at La Bolgora Guest House in July, on our way towards Piedmont. For us, it was a practical stop-over after a late arrival, rather than a place that became part of the travel experience itself. We stayed in room number 2, which was larger than expected and had two double beds. As my photos show, the room is simply furnished, with a rustic vaulted feel, terracotta-style floor tiles, a wardrobe, a small seating area and a basic kitchenette area with a fridge, microwave, sink and coffee/tea facilities. The bathroom was also a decent size, with a large shower cabin and enough towels provided. The arrival worked well. We arrived quite late, around 23:00, and had received codes in advance for access to the property and the room. There was no staffed reception at that time, but the system was straightforward. The host we met the next morning at breakfast was pleasant and welcoming, and check-out was very easy. Breakfast was fine for this type of guest house, with a reasonable selection, a coffee machine and the option of having eggs cooked, although we did not use that. The location is quiet, with free parking on site, and works well if travelling by car between Milan Airport and Piedmont. What could be improved: The bed was rather hard, and while I slept reasonably well, it was not especially comfortable. The room also felt quite basic and sparsely equipped if you wanted to prepare food yourself. Final verdict: A fair 3/5 stay. It was clean enough, quiet, inexpensive and practical for one night, but not particularly charming or comfortable enough for me to rate it higher. If you go: I would mainly recommend it as a simple overnight stop, especially for travellers with a car, late airport arrivals or early departures from Milan Airport. I would not personally choose it for a longer stay. Regards Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway
