The owner is a Swiss aunt with many eccentricities. For example, bright lights are not allowed in the bar and lobby no matter day or night. When guests read the menu or drink list, they have to turn on the flashlight function of their mobile phone to see the words on the list clearly. Breakfast has already been paid for when booking a room in advance, but even boiled eggs have to be charged separately! I booked for a week, but after only 2 days, the aunt asked me to pay the bill, afraid that I would not have the money to live, it was too sick!

I had the great pleasure of a 3-day stay at the Château at the end of March 2025. The castle has been lovingly restored with amazing attention to detail, both in terms of the external building and interior decor. The staff wearing period costumes added to the feeling of stepping back in time to a very different era. But the stepping back in time was not taken too far. After all, old castles were in reality rather draughty and chilly places with poor plumbing - not really the kind of place you would want to stay for a luxury weekend. The restoration has managed this wonderfully - bringing modern standards of comfort to a historical setting, in an unobtrusive way. A small detail to illustrate this: a flat screen TV on the wall would rather detract from the decor - but people sometimes like TV. This is solved elegantly by hiding the TV behind a framed painting - you can swing it open to enjoy the TV (if you really must). Another mix of old and new is that all the staff I met spoke excellent English - something that I suspect would not have been the case back in the day. The staff also managed to balance professionalism with a welcoming and friendly informality. The grounds are extensive and well maintained. I was lucky enough to enjoy pleasant spring weather. It was nice to sit outside and to wander in the gardens. But the best part, for me, was simply sitting quietly outside the castle and enjoying the peaceful sounds of birdsong from the surrounding woods. I had breakfast and several lunches and dinners during my stay - all excellent. There are also interesting places to visit in the area around the castle, if you can drag yourself away from the relaxation. :-)

Wow - this is easily one of the most amazing stays I've ever had. We drove into the full gate, welcomed by the most darling host, Alex, who shared the history of the Chateau, more about the amazing designer, and the owner. We were whisked away to our room, which was covered in embroidery fabric, with every single element has been thought of. We had marvelous dinner both nights, with cocktails in the sumptious bar. The grounds are a treat! We also enjoyed our complimentary one hour in the spa, and relaxed the day away. Everyone we interacted with loved their job and loved the property. Pros: Amazing hotel design, outstanding staff and service, epic hotel room. Cons: Could not think of one!

Chateau has been loving restored and is simply spectacular. The staff is friendly and provides wonderful concierge services (make sure to book restaurant through them if you don’t speak French). The owner is there most days, and she is very willing to share her passion for the chateau and the area!

We stayed six nights at this hotel and absolutely loved it! It was such a wonderful base for exploring the Loire Valley, close to so many castles and sights, yet feels secluded and is such a refuge when you come back at the end of a sigh-seeing day. We loved the pool, got massages and facials at the spa, enjoyed meals in the beautiful dining room as well as in the garden just outside our room, and loved just walking around the property and soaking in the tranquility of it all. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. One of my favorite activities we did there was to rent e-bikes from the hotel and spent the day exploring castles through vineyards, and enjoying a delicious picnic made by the hotel as well. A memory I will cherish forever! We did have an issue with the shower our first night, but the staff took care of it immediately and we did not have any further issues with it. One suggestion for the hotel...I realize it is the countryside so to expect some insects, but we did have several daddy longlegs and other small insects in our room. It would have been nice to have a daily sweeping of the room (tall corners that we could not reach ourselves) in order to make it truly feel 5-star. But don't let this deter you, the property, and the rooms, is immaculate, and I would return in a heartbeat. I'm sure that if I had asked or complained, they would have attended to it immediately.

Absolutely amazing trip. From the staff to the rooms, everything was outstanding. The staff was so friendly (and all spoke English which was a huge plus) and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. The spa was heaven after a long 8 hour flight. There is a huge jacuzzi, sensory shower (rain shower that has set music, temp and scents that go with each theme) and a steam room. You get private access to all of these for an hour, totally recommend after a travel day. The massage was the best I have ever had and I have traveled all over the world visiting spas. The hotel itself is just stunning and we never wanted to leave. There was not a detailed spared when they renovated the hotel. We rented a car and drove from CDG and spent 4 days visiting the most beautiful chateaus and wineries. The chateau was always so lovely to arrive back to and we ate dinner there every night. Highly suggest a drink of their patio overlooking the beautiful gardens. Breakfast room service is also a must!

This is a really special hotel. Most hotels have gone modern and non-descript. Not Ch Louise. It has been recently rebuilt and the owner has exquisite tastes! Every room is different. The attention to detail is amazing. The web site doesn’t do it justice They have great e bikes and my wife and i enjoyed riding to Amboise for lunch and back We are here in December - it would be even more glorious in the Spring or Fall
