Golden Days

Horrible place, first holiday in 7 years and it was not good. Very dirty, people working in hotel ignorant, very expensive to eat or drink in the village and only food at the hotel is toasted sandwich, I’m gluten free, no help from staff, not interested unless it’s for taking your money. Beds and towels not changed the whole week we were there, no toilet roll supplied! No fan in bathroom, €8 a night extra for air con, only one side of pool got sun all day, but the umbrellas are concreted in so can’t move around freely. The people on holiday there were amazing, but I’m disabled, was to leave the room by 11am, not getting picked up till 6 pm, wouldn’t let us stay in our room, only toilet was down tiled stairs which I couldn’t manage. Only for the generosity of a fellow traveller it would have been a nightmare. Avoid as it’s a false economy holiday!

It is a very nice family hotel in Afandoy that combines great facilities with the feeling of coziness staying in this hotel. It has a large and clean swimming pool and the rooms are very nice and clean,too. The owners are also very kind and friendly.

An excellent family hotel, located in Afandou. The rooms and the bathrooms were nice and clean, with modern designs. It has a very large and spacious swimming pool. It is located at a 10 minute walk away from the beach. Definitely recommend it!

Booked my first ever solo trip and was a little apprehensive about going alone. I really needn’t have worried. This, small run family hotel fully embraced me and I often spent evenings talking to them all. The family feel was felt throughout all customers too. We became quite a big ‘holiday’ family. The room was perfect, air con essential at 8 Euros but worth every Penny. Pool small but certainly did the job. Afandou itself is quite a quiet, restaurant/bar village so if you are after nightlife you could catch a bus later in the day. Not too far a walk from the beach. Good around the village incredible. Would highly recommend. All staff were top tier and I would return for certain.

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, please do not even consider booking this for your well earned holiday. The rooms are filthy (bed bugs, no change of towels in a week, air-conditioning faulty), the manager is rude and quite aggressive if you choose to pay on card as opposed to cash, the location of the hotel is mainly in a residential area as opposed to a tourist area which is quite misleading and the whole vibe is quite joyless. We hired a car for the majority of the week so we could stay out as much as possible. There are much nicer hotels and resorts in Rhodes, please choose more wisely than I did!

Very basic as expected, what we didn't expect was the dirty rusty appliances, stained sheets and dirty smelly bathroom. We stayed for 10 days and not once we're the bins emptied or floors cleaned. Some sockets were hanging off the walls & most didnt work .The owners wife who checked us in was rude and unhelpful and never wanted to speak to us. We were made to feel very unwelcome and stayed away for as long as possible the last few days of our trip. The area itself was nice away from the hotel and we recommend hiring a buggy to get to the beach with nice eating areas

Awful place, dirty- cracked tiles- old fashioned & depressing, staff & female owner very rude and abrupt she shouted at my 14 year old daughter and put her hand to her face and told her to shut up when she asked for something. One friend had no pillows on his bed for 5 days after repeated promises. Sheets stained, rusty fridge, plug sockets handing off walls dangerous for the kids, Even some locals who owned bars laughed when we told them where we was staying. So Avoid this place.

We have just had a blummin awful experience at this place 😔 put in a room which we shouldn't have been in has we payed for self catering si no amenities at all and had to be told we would have to wait until morning because they where fully booked 🤔 but was not a good room at all.so next day we had the chose of 2 rooms but one being on 3rd floor ( no lifts) & for my husband to carry case up quite a few stairs not recommend 🤨 so ended up on ground floor so good coz no stairs BUT well the room wasn't that clean shower curtain was a joke bout foot longer than the shower.nothing to cook with.no cutlery.curtains alot shorter than window????? and could go on with lots of stuff. staff were quite rude especially one guy on desk 😡 only good thing was pool area. So don't go to this blummin place.glad we only had a week & we hired a car for 4days

Honestly, reading some of these reviews I am quite shocked! We are currently staying here at Golden days and really have no complaints at all. The staff are really friendly and helpful and will happily have a chat :) The hotel itself is small and quiet which is perfect for a get away. Our room is pretty basic but has everything we need. We have one of the rooms that have NOT been refurbished and it's absolutely fine. It's slightly dated but that is mainly the bathroom. Our fridge works fine, the shower is fine and pressure is great. We paid for the aircon and it's lovely through the evening and night time and keeps it's nice and cool in the day in this 38 degree heatwave! The pool is lovely and relaxing and you don't have to fight for a sunbed which is fab :) Overall, really enjoying our stay and great value for the price we paid!
