We loved it here, the staff were friendly, it was clean and the pool was so good we could spend hours here. The food was good & with all inclusive helped my children try new things & become a little more independent going to get their own food

Ignore any bad reviews. Room good. Food excellent Location excellent. Staff 1st class. And a stones throw from the airport. Couldnt of wished for better. Dont think twice- get it booked👍 Entertainment;…. Hotel ought to offer more adult evening entertainment, having said this.. BILLY who provides light hearted daily entertainment is bloody brilliant and a credit to the hotel😂👍 Im sure he will remember us.. Wayne and where🤣🤣🤣 Tress no stress🤣🤣🤣

Quite possibly the strongest case of false advertising and misrepresentation I have ever experienced. I have no doubt that this hotel rightfully would have been of a 4-star rating.....in the 1970's. Today, however, it is a 2-star. The good points were the proximity to the beach and the weather. The staff were also very friendly. The hotel itself is very dated and in need of a complete overhaul, as many of the reviews will state, the photos they use, of the rooms, in the advert are not of the rooms that they put you in and the photos of the pool and grounds are from a very long time ago. They do have a maintenance schedule for the hotel as we did have the pleasure of the Greek Chuckle brothers who turned up for 5 hours, drilling scaffold poles to the wall on the beach and arguing as they went about it.....that was a delight! Oh and they cut all aircon off from the 1st Oct which is great when its 29/30 degrees. The main disappointment is the food, by a country mile, the worst I have ever experienced in an all-inclusive hotel. I fully appreciate that with an all-inclusive setup. it does become a bit repetitive, but this was just awful. The quality is just the cheapest they could find, which would be perfectly acceptable if we had booked a 2-star hotel. We ate out every evening as it would have been too depressing to eat at the hotel, thankfully, we found a couple of fantastic restaurants, Knights of Olde and the Italian a few doors further up, just outside of the hotel, and a great coffee shop, Coffee Berry a 5 min walk away. Quite honestly, if the restaurants outside of the hotel were closed, as it was late in the season, we would have come home early. Thomas Cook, you have advertised Waitrose / Marks & Spencer yet delivered Poundland.

God awful hotel which the pictures are not representative at all. No Aircon after end of sept, Food I wouldn't serve to my dogs as what was on at lunch was then reheated in a sauce for dinner. Snack bar shut 3 days into our 8 night stay. Onsite Italian restaurant (only allowed to use once per week) also shut 3 days into our holiday so couldn't use that. Advertised spa and sauna (signs up for it around hotel) to be told they didn't have one. Putting fencing up between the hotel and the beach with 4 days left of our stay. The rooms are brilliant if you time travel back to the 80s. Staff friendly but the amount we paid this could've and should've been so much better. Shutting the hotel for end of season while guests were still present is a complete. Shame

Amazing place but the food was poor. Not sure because it was possibly the end of the season, maybe that’s the reason? but I paid for all inclusive so. Snack bar was closed during the middle of the week. No iron which is very important for the guests either. Me and family were like clowns with wrinkled clothing during our holiday because it was not provided.

Great week with the family to the Sunshine Rhodes Hotel. The staff and resort had a lot of plus points and a few slight negatives. We stayed in the Apollo building and had rooms with a separate lounge and bedroom - I think these were the family rooms. We had booked 2 as we are a blended family with teenagers. Good space to move around. The slight negatives are that the rooms are a bit dated and the bathroom especially needing upgraded. The air-conditioner was also not the best and barely worked. The cleaning staff were amazing and kept the rooms clean and well kept (even when our bathroom shower leaked all over the floor) The reception staff were also amazing and sorted out the couple of slight issues we had very quickly. The Hotel overall is well laid out with lots of room to lie by the pools or to lie on the beach - literally a step away from the hotel grounds. The Entertainment Staff - AMAZING - especially a big shout out to Billy and Chelli - who were fantastic and kept us entertained and laughing every day. The food was pretty good with a good selection and choice of different meals - suited our fussy teens. We did eat out a few nights and the main street with shops, bars and restaurants is literally round the corner. Overall would return if the rooms were upgraded slightly and had better bathroom facilities.

This is a great hotel for couples, families, friends, kids, in fact they cater for pretty much everyone. Pro's: 4 lovely pools, right on the beach, good variety of food and snacks, clean spacious rooms, lifts to all floors, shop on site, luggage lockers for later pick ups, friendly helpful staff, good entertainment, free sunbeds, free sunbed towels, Cons: it was 28° during the day and 26° at night and despite this the air conditioning was turned off for the whole site. Its their policy that its turned off from 1st October. The heat at night was unbearable and we had trouble sleeping. After complaining a few times, we were given a small fan which took the edge off but it was still very hot in the room. The bathroom really stunk of sewerage all of the time. It was pretty disgusting and we couldn't open windows or doors due to swarms of mosquitoes, even during the day, so we had to live with the smell. Other guests said the same about the smell in their rooms. If it wasn't for the lack of aircon and the smell, I would've given them 5 stars.

Long review coming, but wanted to be thorough. Returned home last week from our holiday at Hotel Sunshine Ialyssos, Rhodes. Website says the hotel is 4*, but it really isn’t as I’ve stayed in 3* which have offered more. On arrival, check in was easy, a map given to explain everything and we found our rooms ok. My friend and I had our own rooms – as we like our own space – which were on the same floor. The rooms are very basic, with only soap (my friend didn’t have this) and shower gel provided, and the shower in my room just had a screen – at the opposite end of the bath to the shower – so that was fun! Bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were hard. Also, the room had a kitchenette/living area which is a nice option, however the fridge was so noisy I had to close the bedroom door to sleep. My room also didn’t have any of the thinner curtains under the thicker ones, so for privacy, had to keep the curtains closed unless dressed as the rooms opposite could see straight in – not ideal. They do give a rota of what will be done housekeeping-wise for the week, which I did think was good – you don’t need bed changing, towels changing all the time, so we did find this good. Rubbish was removed every day, toilet roll added if needed. Hotel itself, you could tell it was nearing end of season, everything looked a little tired and worn out – unless this is it’s usual look. Limited cocktail supply was on offer and you couldn’t really see any other options for drinks apart from the basics. We spent our days at the Relax Pool – interesting that the bar only served beer, juice or water. Biggest thing which could be improved is the food, this did get really boring by the end of the week. Breakfast – none of the hot dishes were ever hot – just luke-warm. Need more than one decent coffee machine really, as there was always a queue. Poor layout with the bowls too – right in the middle, on the narrowest part of the serving area, with the jams, spreads, honey, etc – so was always so busy. Serviettes too, only placed in 2 locations, where it was busy! Lunch – can’t fault the selection of salads and cheeses. Hot food options never hot, just luke warm. Dinner – same as lunch, salads/cheeses good, hot food luke warm. Nice puddings, but after a week of the same at lunch and dinner – get a bit boring. Same food item, but with a different colour of sauce, also, no explanation of what anything was. Ice cream flavours good, but no proper size bowls to have it in anywhere near the puddings. There were gluten free counters and also at dinner a vegan option, however on the rest of the food there was often little or no description, and never whether it was suitable for vegetarians or not – which does limit you unless you can find a staff member to ask. Layout of the restaurant could be so much better so it flowed easier, and sad that the only thing hot was either toast or coffee (if you got the right machine). Mamma Mia restaurant – what a disappoint

Absolutely amazing staff members. All very friendly especially the activity staff that walk around the pool asking if we want to do aqua gym etc.. We had three occasions of ant infestations, one being on our bed. Told the front desk and was asked to come back in the morning when there may be rooms available. Thankfully there was and the process was very smooth and easy. Found a hair in my food and had multiple occasions where dishes and drinking glasses were not clean. Bed was really hard, my partners bed dipped in which actually made it more comfortable but not the point. Weird cleaning schedule, some days they empty the bins other days they change the bedding / towels etc. Food was absolutely awful. Everything had a weird taste to it, cold, overcooked, basically lived off chips for 7 days. We had one voucher for the la carte restaurant which was absolutely shocking. Had Bruschetta as a starter and I didn’t realise toasted cheese with olives passed as bruschetta but each to their own. Main dish was acceptable but desert you may as well have gone to the main restaurant. Other than that, beach was lovely having right there with access, the pool area was maintained daily but overall an average stay, definitely wouldn’t stay again and overpriced for what is offered.
