April Medieval Hotel

The hotel was right in the centre of Rhodes old town. It was a very pretty building. Our room was quite small and an inside room so no natural light. We didn’t like that the room wasn’t cleaned every day but every other day. So using the same towels on very hot days was a bit grubby. Breakfast was enough nothing fancy.

The 3rd time of writing this terrible review and it has not saved so here we go again..... A fabulous location in Rhodes Town, so central, but sadly not matched by the experience we had On check in we were charged 10 Euros per person as Environmental Tax. Then shown a room, opposite the desk, like a cave with no outdoor light, the window opening into a corridor!! I said to the Manager I needed outside light and air being menopausal and claustrophobic We were told that TUI and similar agents were given this room...no other option We asked for another room and were shown a large room with 2 windows, which we accepted but at 100 Euros PER NIGHT EXTRA. We were reluctant to pay extra as had paid as part of our package deal but had no choice, tired after a long day and unsure of any other availability Directed to local ATM as we didnt have that much CASH No receipt given Ordered 2 Proseccos whilst waiting to change rooms, be charged 30 Euros in CASH for the drinks, not complimentary! The delux room was fine, bigger, natural light and clean enough Fridge was empty No water provided Coffee machine had no pods/ cups We asked for bath towels to be told the two hand towels were the only ones they provided for 4 nights Roof terraceas advertised, locked Rm made up once, not ideal with toilet bin situation. So annoyed we didnt eat or drink at the hotel, with no other guests staying so we felt isolated. Wonder why??? Manageress polite and helpful tbf but damage already done Think its a SCAM informed TUI and Jet2 CASH only, no receipts and therefore No customers!!! Woukd seriously AVOID its a SCAM ..

Sadly I share the same sentiments as other reviews above Think its a SCAM Booked through TUI as it looked old, superb, and great location Location was indeed fab, so central Sadly when we arrived we were shown to the room given to ' package deals'...opposite the main desk, no outside window or light but just a window opening into the corridor!!! I am menopausal and claustrophobic so need windows and light so asked for another room We were shown a bigger room with 2 windows so accepted to be told it was 100 Euros a night EXTRA to what we had paid. We wanted to say no but had already paid through TUI and after a long day wanted no more hassle We had to pay CASH, so were directed to an ATM. No receipt given for 4 nights Had to pay 5 Euros pp for Environmental tax too in CASH of course??? In hindsight would have said No!! Had a drink in the lovely courtyard whilst waitìng to rellocate to new rm to be charged 30 Euros in CASH for this!! Not complimentary The Manageress was courteous and helpful, but as we were so pissed off we didnt eat or drink there. Nobody else was staying in the hotel for the 4 nights duration, felt isolated as tge only guests Few guests ate there aswell. Our room was big, ok really but not worth the extra CASH except for the natural light provided, clean enough but found 2 used towels in the bathroom Only 2 rooms had outside windows in the whole hotel. Room made up once in 4 days, not ideal with the toilet situation! Asked for 2 bath towels to be told the hand towels were all that was provided! Room fridge on but nothing in it No water provided Coffee machine in the rm, but no pods, cups or milk provided So for luxury suite it was double the cost. Really???? Advertised as a roof terrace for guests but door was locked and inaccessible anyway as full of chairs. A sad experience costing us so much Would reiterate. AVOID!!! AVOID!!!

We have been visiting Rhodes town for years and like to try different restaurants . Decided to try April as we were walking by the restaurant. The court yard looked pleasent but we were the only ones there to start with. Ordered our food which came out quite quick. Our plate of tzatziki came out with one small piece of pitta bread , certainly not enough pitta to go with the tzatziki. Then our club sandwich came out which didn't even look like a club sandwich accompanied with mini soft broken cheese biscuits 😢 But we didn't complain . Our family's meals came which were just as disgusting and the waitress then asked for payment upfront. My sister in law asked if we could eat our meal first but she abruptly said 'No, payment first ' which she paid. Now know why as meal was disgusting so can't ask for ur money back. Also we paid 5 euros for a service charge. There was no service , just rudeness. A young couple next to us also complained about their meal and the waitress was very rude to them. So just remember perhaps before stepping into what u think is lovely ask Google first and read the reviews then you will not be disappointed or waste money like we did on that day. I'm not a mean person but hope when we visit next year this restaurant will be closed.

Do not be fooled by the lovely looks, the prices look good but the food is terrible, you are made to pay cash only before you eat or taste the food, which should ring alarm bells !!! No glasses for soft drinks , one tiny bit of pita bread with Tzatziki,impossible to eat, €4 for more pita to go with my unrecognizable Prawn Saganaki, disgusting and cold €16 for the smallest amount of Pork giros, then when I asked for itemized bill as seemed more than prices stated at front, was told I could have that after I had paid before we ate, on seeing the bill they had put a service charge randomly on, the food was disgusting to say the least and no way to get money back as cash up front !!! Another couple there were told , eat it or not eat it you have to pay, they’re food was also terrible, the waitress was so rude and aggressive to the other young couple, apparently this is what they do everyday, DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH YOUR MONEY, this in many years of visiting Rhodes Old Town and having such lovely food and service from great people is horrible, and shameful to the rest of the restaurant’s who are great, please don’t go to APRIL Restaurant ever !! ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
