We booked in for the Christmas lunch set menu 6 courses at £200 each The service and reception frosty yup felt like the team dint want to be there The food was really unacceptable I can’t think of one thing cooked correctly. Dot and tweezer cooking with no technical skills it really was a bit of a joke . Next year Scott’s or a well cooked pub lunch as this kitchen needs to re think as most customers now a days know what good cooking is and it’s not creating a picture on the plate disregarding the ingredients and how to cook them ! Oh the petit fours where nice 😳

What an incredible disappointment. Do not attend as they prioritise profit over service. I had booked the 5-course taster for Christmas for myself and my wife as a surprise for her. We have had an awful year with her losing her mum in August and me losing my Dad in September. So we were looking forward to a nice, relaxing experience. We showed up and it was very busy and we were told we would be seated in the bar as they had a lot of bookings. This was not acceptable at all. It was loud, busy and in no way a relaxing environment. The table we were pointed at was next to a large, loud and drunken group of people who were more interested in drinking. We told the staff that it was not acceptable and they offered another seat in the bar. Clearly not understanding that this was unacceptable. A bar is great for chicken and chips but an expensive 5-course taster menu?? The Maitre’d said he would fix it and went to two different rooms and was still unable to find a table of any kind never mind in a relaxed environment. The taster menu with wine runs to over £300 per couple and we expect much better service for this level of cost! The Maitre’d then said he would find another restaurant for us. We expected he had an in but just called another place and could not get through. After such a terrible year, this was just an awful experience. They have said they will refund the deposit but surely should compensate us for their. If we had not shown up they would have kept our money yet when they do not fulfill their side of the contract there is no downside. We have been there before and had a fabulous experience but they were clearly prioritising profit over service. OK for a fish and chip shop but not an expensive restaurant. Do not go there.

Like a previous reviewer visited the hotel as a wedding guest. Also found the experience similar …great location on banks of the Thames with lovely terrace and garden leading to the riverside. Roadside room was pretty small but nice decor ..visited fellow guests rooms overlooking river which were more spacious and with nice features so worth asking/booking riverside rooms. Lovely bar/lounge area with very friendly and helpful staff. Personally found reception team very helpful unlike some previous reviews. Also felt most staff were working students but must say all were professional, knew what they were doing and helpful. Parking in Richmond is tricky so definitely book a space if driving but 5 minutes in taxi from Richmond overground rail station. Worth a stay.

We had our wedding here in September. It really exceeded our expectations - Amy and Ricardo who were our contacts went above and beyond for us. We are so grateful for the most wonderful experience from beginning to end, I cant recommend it enough. The food was excellent, the setting perfect, the service impeccable and every one of our guests had a truly wonderful time. thanks to everyone at the Riverhouse for giving us the time of our lives - we can't wait to find a reason to go back.

What an absolute treat on the hottest day of the year! The setting is truly fantastic, the food was amazing (set menu) , a glass or two of our favourite , Nyetimber champagne and Rose, the latter being perhaps a tad expensive for what it is. However, what really stood out was absolutely first class service. Efficient, extremely thoughtful and personable. Definitely way over and above the norm, in every respect. This started with Carl on the front desk who graciously pushed our booking back as we were running late. He gave us directions for parking as a wedding was on and therefore no hotel parking available. Yulia, our waitress was just lovely and so, so thoughtful. Then Ricardo the manager came over for a chat and it was immediately apparent that his leadership really does set the standards: in our opinion faultless. He even arranged for us to have a private car parking space when our meter expired, as we had a baby in tow. Can’t wait to return and maybe have one of the glass garden igloos before Christmas. Thank you to all the team for a truly memorable day.

My wife and I recently booked and stayed at the Bingham for a few days whilst attending a couple of events at Kew Gardens. On arrival the room was not available (no problems as we arrived early). Reception took care of our bags and later arranged for them to be taken to our room. So we popped into the bar for a drink whilst we waited. Some of the furniture was very tired (beyond the point of shabby chic) and there was a random tv on a stand with cable hanging down and dvd player underneath which looked totally out of place. The staircase to the rooms was very dark and little illumination. The bedroom was satisfactory with a beautiful roll top, free standing, copper bath in the room. The tv was playing an advert for the hotel, showing a young lady in the bath full of bubbles. Pity the hotel didn’t think to put any bubble bath in the room. There was a very nice coffee machine in the room with milk frother but this is the fist hotel with no biscuits. On the 1st night we had used all the body wash which was never replaced. On return from Kew in the evening we grabbed a few more drinks at the bar. Just a pity they didn’t think to bring complimentary nuts. A few days before we stayed at the Lygon Arms in the Cotswolds that was a similar price but the standards there far exceeded the Bingham. In terms of comfort and cleanliness, I have no complaints but attention to detail was missing. In my opinion the hotel was overpriced and did not deliver. I will not be staying there again.

My husband and I couldn't be more happy that we chose Bingham Riverhouse as our wedding venue. Everything went so perfectly: the location is simply stunning, the staff is so warm, friendly, and professional, and the food was incredible! A huge thanks to Amy, our wedding coordinator for all the planning involved for our big day - we were in the best hands and I had the feeling I can simply relax on my wedding day and don't need to take care of anything. Even the biggest foodies under our guests loved every single food item - from the canapes to the desserts, it was really delicious and the staff made sure that my husband and I get enough food while we were busy talking to all our guests - these simple details made a huge difference. We are so grateful that Bingham Riverhouse made this incredible day possible and we absolutely agree with one of our guest's comments: "Whatever you've paid for the wedding at Bingham it was worth it!".
