There is a 7-eleven within walking distance and Aeon, Market place, etc. are nearby within a 5-minute drive. It is very convenient. You can also visit the Tsunami Memorial Hall, which has many local specialties and the local people are simple and friendly.

We visited Rikuzentakata to support the town and the tsunami recovery. While dark and cold this time of year, the Capital 1000 hotel was very welcoming. After informing the hotel staff that we would need to leave early in the morning, they gave us a discount and helped us find dinner in town. The onsen downstairs is great and excellent view from the property. Would love to stay again in the future.
