The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside to our trip were the strong sewage smell outside of the hotel, at the entrance. It was persistently present each time we accessed the building.
Another smell on the second floor was as string but not offensive, like vinegar near rooms # 210-220. My daughter thought it smelled like a dentist’s office.
Smells aside, the halls are brightly lighted and clean with inspirational quotes on each door.
Continental breakfast was served daily and the pool was open, though we were too busy to enjoy it. He fitness room remained closed due to the pandemic.
We would stay here again fir the convenience on/off the 91 freeway.
The beds were not luxury but not terrible. They could be improved with a memory foam topper.

This was our third visit to the property, since it was convenient to our relatives’ homes. The last time we stayed there was about a year ago, and we had problems with a dirty comforter and a boiler that was supposed to be down for “a couple of hours” that ended up being down for a full weekend, meaning we had no hot water. We were assured that we would hear back from the management when we made a complaint to the front desk clerk, but we never did. But we were willing to give the place one more chance. We arrived about 9:00 pm to check in and we were pleasantly surprised to find we were upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite. We headed to the room, took out the keys... and neither of them worked. I went back to the front desk, we tried the new keys... nope, still wouldn’t work. We called the front desk, and the desk clerk came up immediately and was able to open the door, but advised us that the battery on the door lock was dying, so when we heard the lock try to open, we should try to open the door immediately to get it open. It was late and we were tired, so we figured we’d get to bed and deal with it in the morning. Not long after we unpacked, my wife and I were getting ready for bed when my daughter came in and told us she spotted mold in the other bedroom. I went to check it out, figuring that maybe it was really dirt or something, but I saw the black spots on the ceiling and had to agree. I asked my wife to have a look, and we brought in a towel to try and wipe off whatever it was; the dark spots wouldn’t wipe off, and my adult daughter said the spot felt “fuzzy”. We called the front desk and let them know; the clerk advised us the hotel was full, but would check to see if a room was available at a sister property nearby; he also recommended that we could stay in the room but close off the second bedroom, and have my daughters sleep in the living room. Since my other daughter has asthma, we decided to get dressed, get our bags, and head for the lobby. When we got to the desk, the clerk advised us that the sister property was also full, but he could call for a room at another hotel that would have had all four of us in one room with a bed and a fold out couch... for a higher rate than what we were already being charged for there. We decided to give up and head home; the clerk told us that he couldn’t cancel the reservation or check us out until morning, but that the manager would call us in the morning. I’ll give credit to Joseph the front desk clerk, who went above and beyond during our visit to try to resolve our problems. Unfortunately, he was pretty much left to deal with everything happening by himself. The mold we found and the problems with door lock seems to confirm that the problems we found with poor housekeeping and maintenance on our last visit weren’t a fluke. As nice and as convenient as the property is, we’ve decided that we won’t be staying here again unless there’s a change in management or a renovation of the hotel.

The staff greeted me politely upon entering the Hotel. The sweet older lady that checked us in even called our room about 10 minutes after checking in to make sure we were pleased with the room, we appreciated that. Lots of restaurants in same parking lot, including clothing stores. Target walking distance.

First impression was not good. There was someone smoking pot in the parking lot when we pulled in and the hotel has this funky smell to it. Also, the hotel is located in the middle of an industrial area w/ the highway right across. So it seems very desolate and uninviting at first. But when you get your room, it's pretty nice. We had a 2 bed room and the beds sheets/pillows were clean and there was enough room for both of us. I was expecting a dungy bathroom but it was nice as well. Good room for the shower and sink/toilet. Also very clean. Yes, there is some funky smells in the rooms that others have pointed out. I'm not sure where it comes from but you smell it and I guess we get use to it. It's not overbearing but a bit of an annoyance. Maybe it comes from the Air Conditioner. But best thing was proximity to the university. You don't need to take the highway from here to get to the university. Side streets and you'll be there in about 10 min time. Price was cheapest in the entire area of hotels. Booked thru Costco Travel. For a 1-3 day visit the hotel will suit your needs.

The company's warehouse is nearby. There is a microwave and refrigerator in the room, and the breakfast is also very good! (Waffles made by myself) There are Macy's department store, Aldi supermarket and Mareno Valley Mall next to it, which is very good. But there is no hot water kettle, but many hotels in the United States do not have hot water kettles, only coffee machines.

We picked this place because it was convenient to picking up my son's prom date. They needed a place to take pics and the setting of a designed balcony on the 2nd floor was perfect plus the water fountain made the pics fabulous. I'd recommend the place for anyone planning to have a wedding party or Girls Trip or Family Reunion or gathering. There were walkable variety of restaurant and shopping to go to.

I really like staying at this hotel. The only one downfall is the continental breakfast is expensive. Not worth it at all. The pool is really large enough for multiple families to enjoy. The rooms can be upgraded. But overall it's nice to stay with fam.

Very Good
GGuest UserWe needed to break up a long drive home from Temecula to the Central Coast, so we booked a room a bit closer to home. Rooms in the Temecula area are super expensive this time of year, so we shopped for a good value, crossed our fingers and said we would not stay if it was at all sketchy. Now pleasantly surprised we were to find the front desk clerk very affable and helpful, the parking lot was almost full and the room, while anything but luxurious, was very clean. It is a motel style location and our car was parked outside our room. The shutters on the windows provided excellent privacy. Being in downtown Riverside there were occasional sirens, but really not too bad. Good place to sleep in a comfortable bed. Good value.
GGuest UserThe room is spacious and bright, the service staff is friendly, and most of the people at the front desk are friendly and provide convenience for everyone, making people feel at home. The surrounding environment is convenient for traveling
PPHILLIP JIEClose to the university, near the highway, and convenient transportation. There are good dining rooms in the surroundings, all kinds of tastes. Quiet and clean.
Breakfast is a bit simpler, but you can eat it in a small restaurant nearby. pretty good. There are also many convenience stores, beauty salon services, and movie theaters in the surrounding area.
HHONGWEIBreakfast standard American third-class sample, the hotel is clean, the disadvantage is no place to wash clothes, breakfast standard American third-class, the hotel is clean, the disadvantage is that there is no place to wash clothes
DDEWEIMotel parking is very convenient, no breakfast, basically the preferred hotel for self-driving tour, the room is a bit old, the TV is still the style of the old convex screen, the health can generally live, there are many things to eat around, about three kilometers from UCR.
6644melvinbI had a good stay there me and my girlfriend we was welcomed as soon as we stepped foot in the door and was giving a good room. Ask for Yolanda she’s amazing and tells you all about the stay and does her job well thanks for the stay Yolanda keep up the good work you made us feel welcomed.
EETO_History_BuffThe room was clean, but old, and paint was chipping off of the furniture and the bathroom doorway, and the water in the bathtub/shower and sink gets warm, but not hot. The manager told me when I checked in to not fill the tub, so people can forget about bathing children here. The air conditioning was good. It would have been nice to have a TV directory. The ********* stench in the bathroom and especially in the entry was pretty strong, and the “breakfast” was pathetic. It consisted entirely of only coffee to drink (which I don’t drink), hot water, two flavors of Quaker instant oatmeal packets, the dry, hard type of Nature Valley granola bars, and two flavors of Svenhard’s pastries. That’s it. If someone has children with them, I guess they can buy them soda out of the vending machine. That’s always a good breakfast beverage for kids.
GGuest UserHaving spent several months in various Motel 6's while my estranged husband's estate was settled (probate) I've seen & experienced customer service from a wide variety of Motel 6 employees. I have never seen a more sullen group of people. The girl that checked us in was just lovely, the office was very well kept & updated. Unfortunately the good impression didn't carry over to any other aspect of our stay. The first night was uneventful, the next day housekeeping never even bothered to check if we needed towels. They required a $50 deposit, that's a first. No other Motel 6 has ever required one, even when we had 2 dogs instead of just the one we have now. They claim to be pet friendly, I would beg to differ, they acted as though our dog was a bringer of pestilence. I understand our dog is a big German Shepherd, people can be fearful of dogs especially a big one. 2 women alone need a protector especially at this location. My daughter had to go to work, graveyard shift. I was left alone with no phone, I don't have a cellphone, in the past the room always had a phone in case of emergency. I could call the front desk if necessary, if there was an issue. There were people above our room drunk off their fannies, slamming doors shouting obscenities at each other. It wasn't pleasant. The room was not particularly clean or maintained, leaks above the bathroom were fixed but still unpainted, black mold on the bottom of the door jam, the smell of stale smoke hung about the room (in a no smoking room) forcing us to keep the window open. But most of all the staff were terribly rude, on the 3rd day my daughter asked for a clean towel after work, the woman obviously didn't want to be bothered, rolling her eyes acting as though this wasn't her job. The dog vocalized in the late morning hours & we were told we couldn't stay another night. That was fine, to be honest it isn't much fun to walk on eggshells in a situation like that. There were other dog's there, our next door neighbor put their dog on a long lead , tied the lead to something in the room, kept their door open so the dog could go outside, wander in front of our room. My dog is a service animal, but it was more than he could tolerate & he barked his displeasure. We packed our things, I picked up any trash that we had made, put the used towels in one location wiped down the counter tops & left. There was no damage that I could see. I smoke, but only outside. They never offered to clean the room in 3 nights. The walkways in front of the rooms are filthy & need a good power cleaning. There is no swimming pool, no laundry facilities, 1 drink vending machine & none for snacks. If you find yourself in Riverside CA the La Sierra location is far superior, cleaner, employees are courteous & actually smile, they will go out of their way to ensure your stay is pleasant. They have a pool, laundry facilities etc. BTW They kept $20 of the $50 deposit, for what I have no idea. I guess it's a way to pay their housekeep
