Room was comfortable but way too warm & we couldn't work out how to cool it down other than opening the window. Bed large & comfortable. Tea & coffee & biscuits. TV a tad small for the size of room. The real disappointment was breakfast. Good choice of cereals but the fresh fruit was cold & unappealing & there was no yogurt which was a surprise these days. I can't remember the last time we weren't offered a full English breakfast in a pub or B&B - the choice was a bacon barm (bap) or omelette! Very disappointing. Coffee arrived ready made (from a machine) in a cup & the pot of tea was strong enough to stand a spoon in! No choice of teas. Overall over-priced & disappointing.

Visited the pub with family. Manager at ‘Front desk’ completed ignored us as we walked in even tho he knew we were there … I observed him ignore everyone entering and leaving over an hour ‘awful leadership’ .. this is then passed on to his team, pretty much all of them need training on basic customer service skills. Lady with blonde hair behind bar clearly doesn’t want to be there. Over heard a member of staff being really negative towards her team, boss, the job the pub … not nice to hear as a paying customer.

This review is just for food as I didn’t stay there. I thought it was very expensive for barely average food. A bowl of Irish Stew costs £16 and contains half a sausage chopped…very disappointing. The staff were very pleasant although we felt as though we were being hurried out of the restaurant when we had finished. The place is nice but pricey! Guinness £5.50 a pint.

Beautiful pub in lovely surroundings but sadly the food lets the place down massively. I never object to paying a bit more if it’s an enjoyable meal, but this was ridiculously priced for what can only be described as bland and uncreative. We definitely won’t be rushing back.

Disappointingly only very average. Stopped here for lunch on my way to a business appointment in Warrington, the menus looked nice but the food was rather bland. The service was good and prompt but I won't hurry back. Had the house ale which was nondescript.

The hotel is conveniently located next to the M6 for an overnight stop over as we were doing. The accommodation was standard and in keeping with the price we paid. There is a good playground for kids. Our evening meal was slightly below average in terms of food quality. Breakfast was very poor. There was some tired fruit. Cereals and toast were available. However we were surprised that there was no menu with hot options. We were offered a roll with bacon or sausage! Nothing else. Surely even the most basic hotels should be able to rustle up a ‘full English’. For this reason we wouldn’t stay here again.
