Wonderful Historic Building, Wonderful Location, just a few minutes walk from the great sites of Rochester and the train station. Quiet, Clean, Comfortable Rooms with Great Facilities. Fantastic Staff, particularly the young lady at Reception.

Absolutely disgusting accommodation. Grubby stained carpets, filthy pigeon droppings all over the bedroom windows and pillows as flat as pancakes! I had no confidence that the room had been cleaned. Absolutely horrid! DON’T DO IT! There was no way I was going to sleep in this absolute dump so requested a refund and checked into the nearby Travelodge. I’ve never been so pleased to see a Travelodge in my life! Pure 5 star luxury compared to this dump! I’m cross that these hotels are allowed to function. It should be shut down on H&S grounds! I’ve given it 1 star as there isn’t an option to give it 0

Just don't bother. The hotel has a nightclub next door, Friday and Saturday nights are extremely loud until 3am. No reception staffafter 8pm. The rooms and public spaces all need a massive refurbishment. No toilet roll left in the room. 90% of the bathroom floor tiles were broken. Net curtains shredded. Bed uncomfortable. I would highly suggest for £30 less going to the travel lodge a 2 min walk from the town. Very quiet and next to the train station and a co-op. People come in and out at all hours with doors slamming and floorboards creeking. Could only get 15 channels on a very very small t.v. no phone signal and couldn't connect to the WiFi. The town however is beautiful with extremely friendly people and great places to eat and drink. Just don't stay here

If I could give this place zero stars I would. It’s probably the worst hotel I have ever been in. It started at check in, the staff couldn’t have cared less. The room was just about clean, shabby is the best I can say. There was no bedside light, as the electric kettle used the only socket. I was there for two nights and the room wasn’t cleaned at all during my stay, so upon my return after a long days work, I took my dirty mug downstairs and requested a clean one. It was provided with poor grace. The car park is cosy, there were no spaces, so I had to use the local multi story car park. I really wished I’d stayed elsewhere.

The first room they gave us was disgusting, filthy shower and filth every where. I refused that room, I paid an extra £31 for a so called luxury room which was recently refurbished. Good bed with clean sheets and a new carpet. thats where it ended. The persion who did the refurbishment must have used a hatchet and wore dark glasses. 1. Door lock on the door was loose 2. No wardrobe 3. No chairs 4. The standard of the painting was more suited to a cellar 5. The basin in the large shower room was blocked, took ages to drain 6. Although the shower cubicile was large with a good shower the tile grouting and bottom section was quite mouldy 7. You had to jam something under the window to hold it open. The corridors in the hotel are all old with quite old and dirty carpets. There is however free parking in the centre of Rochester for about a dozen cars The staff seem indifferent to the state of the place.

Absolute pile of crap 💩 the staff are rude and obnoxious. Got a 20 pound late fee for checking out after 10am coz I apparently made the cleaners late. Maybe they sack the cleaner then because it's certainly not clean in there. The reception shut at 8pm so other guests I was having to let in as there was no staff. Will never ever return here!

Absolutely diabolical, dated, smelly, filthy, dusty, wouldn't even sit on the bed let alone sleep in it. Walked in 1 room windows was wide open, pigeons had been in the room and there was bird poo all over the back of the TV and floor, was moved to a second room, wasn't hovered plaster and paint all on the floor, bed was absolutely filthy, headboard was having off and so dusty, all in all vile

We arrived 10 mins prior to the start of the check-in time and were told we were really early.... Not a great welcome. Everything is really tired, just walking up to the room there is evidence of a building desperate for maintenance. Awkward access to our room. Obvious musty smell in the room. Tired furniture and fittings. Peeling paint on radiators. We dumped out luggage, went out for food, and despite wanting to chill out for a while before going out again we couldn't face staying there so we returned home instead. It's such a shame as Rochester High Street is full of independents, reeking of history, and is asking for decent hotel rooms. You won't find those here.
