Having worked for IHG I could never imagine myself posting such a negative review for one of their properties, but my experience at the Holiday Inn express and suites in Seabrook New Hampshire was beyond dismal. The dilapidated condition of the property and lack of customer service from front desk employees is astonishing And embarrassing, and that’s being kind. First problem with this property is that the overview on the IHG® website states and I quote; “BRAND NEW PROPERTY.” (Look it up) It is not even close to being new. The certificate in the elevator declares it was installed on 2007- so it’s at least 15 years old property. False advertising right there. Secondly, it is in dire need of updating. There are no USB outlets in the rooms, broken lamps, dirty carpets, dull lighting, and too many issues to mention in this review. What ruined my stay though is the following: After requesting a first floor room I was put on the third floor in a room which I found out the next morning was actually listed as “OOO” in their system, which means out of order. In the hotel industry, rooms are put ‘out of order’ when they are not fit for habitation and need repairs. it should never have been rented. There was absolutely no hot water in this room. Not even tepid. It was ice cold. This prevented me from taking a hot shower after traveling a full time day. When I called the front desk about it, Alex told me “I’m not a plumber.“ He was useless I asked to speak to the MOD which means manager on duty, only to find out there would be no GM at this hotel for the next two days. I called IHG Corporate to complain and they called the hotel while I was on the phone to ensure I would be put in another room that was functioning properly. This meant I had to pack up everything and move to another floor and the front desk never even offered to help with the move. when I packed up the room, I was assured by the front desk staff that the new room was checked and double checked to make sure every thing was working properly- only to find out after getting into a steaming hot shower that the body wash and shampoo (which is installed on the shower wall) was completely empty. This was the cherry on the sundae for me and I got out of the shower soaking wet and went to the front desk and handed them the empty soap containers. I got some from a housekeeping cart and installed them myself. About 15 minutes later there was a knock at my door with a young lady standing there with a bottle of shampoo and body wash. No smoke or greeting from her as she identified herself as the front desk manager without offering her name or an apology. She was just standing there with a bottle of soap in each hand looking annoyed. I told her I got some myself and shut the door. I am a platinum elite member of IHG® which means I spend a lot of money on this brand, and although this is a franchised hotel, it is governed by corporate and IHG needs to keep a better watch on their franchisees becau

Stayed one night at the RI Downtown Portsmouth. When I checked in on line I put our arrival time at 10:00 a.m. we actually arrived at 9:30 and our one bedroom suite was ready. Sophie checked us in with another young lady (Her name escapes me.) and we were up in our room in a flash. I got a text from Sophie a few minutes later. She wanted to confirm that everything in the room was okay. This has rarely, if ever happened to me before. The suite was perfect. Full kitchen and separate living room. We had no issues or problems. We had a great view from our 5th floor window. We used the valet service. Jordan got our car for us on a few occasions in lass than 5 minutes. The breakfast buffet was the usual RI fare. Coffee was excellent. I used the fitness center. I was small but had what I needed. We had late checkout until 3 pm. Great staff. Highly recommend.

Hotel is accessible and quiet. Hotel is clean and has everything you need. Holly welcomes us warmly and upgrades our room. The second day, the front desk gentleman prepared us a bag of ice for our cooler. What impressed more is the hotel staff went extra miles. They contacted me for a pillow where we forgot in the room. When we went back to pickup the pillow, we stayed in the hotel restaurant for lunch using the water, ice and utensils. They really treat us as hotel guests: it is heart felt that once you are their guests, you are always their guests. We will come back if we travel towards this part of the country.

The young lady that was working last night was the nicest person to speak with ever. I’m not sure her name but she was blond with piercings and she was absolutely amazing. I’ve never felt more welcomed to a hotel then I experienced last night.

We have stayed here before and this time we stayed 7 nights. The bed was super comfortable, the place was clean, there was plenty of food at the complimentary breakfast, and it's convenient to everywhere we needed to be. The main thing is that the General Manager, Lisa Reeser, provided excellent service. She was particularly helpful on several occasions and was friendly throughout our stay.

I booked a stay at the holiday inn in Salem nh Friday may 19 to sat may 20 for me and my boyfriend to stay after attending a wedding in the area. I booked the 2 double bed room about 2 weeks ago with no problem. I received a few emails leading up to my stay reassuring me that this hotel would provide exceptional service and comfort. Since I was part of the wedding party my boyfriend was the one to arrive and check in. He did so around 4 pm on Friday may 19. Check in went smoothly, we got assigned room 318 and he made his way to the room. No problem with the room everything was fine and he got dressed and left some of his belongings in the room, and headed to the venue. We got back later that night to the hotel around 12:45am to a fire alarm going off. We waited and about 20 mins later it turned off and we made our way to the room. Once we got to the door my boyfriend used to the key he was given and tried to open the door, it was latched from the inside with all the lights off. We thought it was weird and maybe we got the wrong room. Tried one more time then attempted to unlock the door next to it thinking we got the rooms mixed up, no luck. He tried the door one more time, and a mans voice comes out the dark room and he shuts the door and we head to the front lobby. I gave my name and asked what room we had been assigned. I was told 318, I told the guy at the desk there was a man in my room. Confused he called our room and sure enough a man answered, he had been on a reservation for that night but not for that room number, he was suppose to be in 310 with a roommate but somehow ended up in our room. After some time I was told he was part of corporate and normally travels with a roommate, but still no explanation how he got into our room when my boyfriend had already gone thru check in and was assigned and given a key. No help and no explanation of how someone could be given a key to my assigned room with no record of that man being assigned that room . There are a lot of what if scenarios that could have happened that night with a strange man being in a room under a Womens reservation. What if I was alone in that room when that strange man made his was in.. A man I’m assuming was their janitor or maybe security guard went up to the room with my boyfriend to get my his personal belongings that were still in the room. Once up there the man answered the door and my boyfriend said he was dirty and the room smelled really bad. The janitor/security man he was with said something along of the lines of that man didn’t seem right . To add to this wonderful experience, we were told there were no other rooms available that night since they were fully booked. Mind you it is close to 2 am at this point. We got told they could try to find us somewhere else to stay. But as annoyed as we were we decided we rather drive the hour home. This place is so nice!! It's close to all kinds of big box stores and restaurants, but It's off the beaten path and it's so cozy. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The bar/restaurant actually had good food. The indoor pool was great. The rooms were very nice. Our bed was super comfortable. I really liked that we could Log into our streaming services on the TV. My family and I were super impressed with this hotel. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend
