We visited the pub on a Saturday evening for a meal. When we arrived at 6pm there were one other family there, the rest of the place empty which I immediately thought whats going on here as we couldn't get a table anywhere we had previously tried. The pub did look clean, the guy behind the bar was friendly. He came and took our orders quickly. I ordered prawn cocktail which didn't come with and tomato/onions/cucumber as usual and they had no butter for the bread. However, plenty of prawns, sauce, very nice. My partner had soup, also lovely, no butter for bread. Main meals came out soon after, my partner had steak which again looked lovely, chips crispy. My Lasagne was bone dry, no sauce left inside, no cheese on top and very much seemed like it had been reheated on more than one occasion when we were told ot was made fresh by the day (absolutely not a chance it was) the pasta was like cardboard and the meat at the very bottom was like burnt somehow. The server said somehow that particular bit had been under the grill too long or something and offered me another plate of it but I refused and asked for the lasagne to be taken off the bill which was done no questions asked. The pub was very cold (I understand the cost of living) just hard to enjoy a meal when so cold. The family in there before us had coats on and the locals that came into the bar after also kept their coats on. Over all, the place seems unprepared even for the smallest of groups, pretty pub lacking any atmosphere and for the cost of food it should be better than it is. I would try it again as they dealt with any complaint well but expected better.
