L'Hôtel by Hostellerie du Château

I stayed at this hotel in July 2019. I chose the hotel because they advertised (with photos) a triple room - with three proper beds. I was traveling with my two grown teenage children and so having a bed for each of us to ensure a good nights sleep was imperative. I booked directly through their website and was given a confirmation with the triple room specified. When I arrived I was given one of the double rooms (also clearly shown on their website) with a make shift cot shoved in (television and table were pushed into corner to semi make room for the cot. The cot was falling apart..picture children’s old ikea bed with the bolts falling out of the four corners). I complained immediately. Clearly they gave me a different room then what I reserved. They said they were full and so could do nothing (they had obviously given the triple room I reserved to someone else already). If they could not give me the room that I reserved I asked to leave as I was not being given what was confirmed by them..and we were desperate for a good nights sleep (which would not be possible on that half broken cot shoved into the room...)....but they would not give me back my money. They were defensive and most unprofessional...kept pretending that the double room with the cot was their triple room (despite photos on their website of both rooms proving otherwise!). It is an awful feeling to be taken advantage of! By not giving me the room that I had reserved/prepaid and then refusing to return my money since they did not give me the room that Was promised...was a most uncomfortable situation. Their defensiveness and unprofessional behavior made it all the worse. That this could happen in Switzerland...was most shocking! They continued to be defensive and unprofessional throughout the interactions I had with them ... I have never had a worse experience at a hotel anywhere.

Bedcomfort : very bad Bathroom : old fashioned In the room was a terrible smell of the restaurant, made it impossible to sleep You couldn t complain because nobody was at the reception after 7 30 Tv with limited channel choice Closets broken dirty Refrigerator broken Just a disgrace what they charge you for this one star hotel room Apparently they are refurbishing, but nevertheless choose to put people in the old rooms when new ones are available Breakfast... terrible quality, no choices Stay away

The most disgusting service I have ever seen. When we were ordering at their restaurant, the head of the hotel stated that we must order more or leave, as he said, "since it is illogical that there are five of you, and only three dishes are ordered." This really smart man even did not allow us to stay when we told him that their restaurant had not had other dishes we wanted to order before he came.. If you want to be treated worse than cattle, welcome to this place.

Pleasant staff, but a very tiny room with a 45 degree ceiling where you cannot stand up. I wouldn’t stay here ever again.
