What a quite appalling one night stay. If you want customer service, do not stay here under any circumstances. A quite disgraceful young waitress masquerading as some grand Madam maitre’d subjected my wife to a barrage of abuse, ending up with her throwing a bowl of cold, soggy chips across the table at her. A children’s meal that had been 45 minutes in the waiting, for which she was made to feel as though it was an enormous privilege to even ask for in the first place. This left my wife in tears, shaking and quickly retreated to our room with our children. But wait, it gets much, much better. When I then robustly informed the reception staff of what had happened, to whom my wife had already complained at the time about the young waitresses aggressive and intimidating behaviour, I was met with complete and utter nonchalance. The young waitress eventually appeared, refused to even contemplate apologising, referring to my wife in derogatory terms and then, given another chance, starting hurling a tirade of abuse at me across the bar, suggesting that I ‘get another drink and shut up’…! In front of a whole hotel of guests. The next morning, the receptionist told me to calm down when I asked to discuss what had transpired the evening before, all in front of her very eyes. The next morning, when checking out, I demanded to speak with the owner of the hotel, seeking compensation for the volley of abuse directed at my wife for simply asking for a children’s meal (as a guest of the hotel). The young waitress, now acting sheepish was waiting in the wings behind her big boss, trying to prevaricate her way out of the situation, offering up that she had no problem with my wife and was prepared to apologise to her!!!! But she wasn’t prepared to apologise to me!!! What planet is she living on? When I demanded some form of compensation for how my wife had been treated from the owner/ big boss he flat refused and then started calling the police…..! On reflection, the police should have been called - the hospitality police, for crimes against service. What a complete and utter disgrace. What makes it even more other worldly is that we have been staying with the Anova group for the last 3 years, spending €10k with them in that time. Imagine how they would treat you if you were staying for the first time…!

The Anova is an excellent hotel, right next to a green run fed by a short button lift. The quality of our accommodation, a junior suite, was brilliant with plenty of space for the 4 of us. The outside snack bar is of a great quality, and good value. The food in the main restaurant is simply the best we have ever had. The children's portions are of equal quality and huge. Every member of staff across the board are a credit to their profession. The onsite ski hire shop provided us with the best skis we have ever used. ESF have an office at the bottom of the green slope in front of the hotel. It is normally only open during school holidays, but you can prearrange lessons through them where they will start the session if needed outside the hotel ski locker room.

Great hotel, great staff. food is fantastic, best I’ve had in a ski resort. What a fantastic idea to allow people to order off the main menu if they don’t want the fixed half board options. We had some great meals on the set menu and off the main menu. Spa is great - I recommendation that they offer 1 hour bookings for 10 euro . They would get a greater uptake as most people leave within the hour. The bar has a nice feel - love the artwork. Rooms are good - good storage, nice showers , comfy bed and a fridge ! Only things to note - drop of by Crystal is a 300 yard up hill walk up a steep hill with luggage. Also if you have group lessons with ESF it isn’t next to the hotel , you do have to take a mini bus outside the hotel to the main ESF building (4 min drive). These run every 15 minutes. Ski was great - no queuing for lifts, hills very quiet apart from weekends when the Italians come into town.

This hotel is amazing. The staff are fantastic, from Paul the mixologist, to Mode, Arthur, Paul & more in the dining room. The food was simply outstanding, everything you could hope for. Breakfast of Ham, various types, the same with cheeses, Yoghurt, fruit, nuts, cereals, eggs, scrambles & boiled, bacon, pancakes, freshly squeezed orange & apple juice, the bread & croissant simply gorgeous. Dinner comprised of x 3 starter options, 2 main options & dessert, expertly prepared & presented, very high end dining. The rooms were immaculate, the beds & pillows sublime, (I was in the bed business, so trust me), like sleeping on a cloud. We were a mixed party of four & all agree that there was nothing that could be improved upon. Thank you all for your attention & care. Missing you all xx Here’s to a return in 2026. Suzi Boo xx

We absolutely loved our stay! The rooms are theme-based and pretty, the hotel is cosy, the staff is very helpful, kind and professional. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was modern and delicious and the service was perfect. What we enjoyed the most was the spa - limiting the time and number of people made it a really enjoyable and relaxing experience. Pauline's massage was perfection - she is an expert! The hot oil massage was gentle and relaxing, one of my top 5 ever! At the reception desk, we were provided with useful instructions about the trails in the valley for the summer season and also about the ski slopes for the winter season. Last but not least, the view from the balcony was stunning! We will definitely come back in the future.

We travelled with Crystal and all went very smoothly. We were greeted with a 100 cm snow dump... which really gave great ski conditions. Great location for ski in and out. A supermarket at the bottom of the slope, handy for drinks and snacks. Ski bus to pick you up from hotel if you want to get to the other side of the resort without ski-ing around to it. The room was lovely, very clean, with balcony overlooking drag lift. Great shower. Bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch. Kettle and cups also supplied (don't always get this) and small fridge. We didn't use the spa facilities. Love Montgenevre as a ski area, certainly suits me as some lovely long blues and greens to keep me happy in my advancing years. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We had a problem with our safe in the room functioning, the receptionist came up several times to try and help out, but in the end it was left to a technician to sort. Same with the ski locker in the basement, but all sorted in the end. We had an evening of entertainment, an amazing Jazz type duo played an excellent set which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thumbs up for 'Blue Moon'. We were halfboard. The only reason not giving a 5 star rating, was the problem we experienced with the Breakfast buffet. Breakfast ran until 10am. We would get there between 8.30 to 9am. The first morning they ran out of bread, I overheard a French man asking for bread, to be told they had run out and would not be able to get anymore. The pastry basket was empty, I asked for croissants and was told some would come out, about 15 minutes later some appeared. Other items of food had run out - such as bacon, scrambled eggs.... again a long wait to be replenished. Also problem of tables not being reset, meaning people were having to sit at uncleaned tables and find their own crockery. This was not a one off and happened the next two mornings, at which point I complained to our Rep about the situation. We had become like hawks, waiting for the food to appear, which should not be the case. It appeared to be a problem of not enough staff to man the buffet. Our rep told the Hotel management, so hopefully this is something they will get right in the future as a shame compared to the rest of our experience at the hotel which was good.
