Alavera de Los Banos

Lovely boutique hotel with nice lounge area, pretty small garden with pool and quaint rooms. We had a ground floor room with a patio which we thought was lovely for the price. The hotel is at the bottom of Ronda so it is a bit of a hike up to the town but ok if taken slowly. Breakfast is adequate, would be better they had some buffet options eg different juices and bread

We booked for 2 nights at the hotel. We were given room 3 which was on the ground floor adjacent to a footpath. The room was v small, narrow, dark & smelt musty & damp. It was a depressing room. Constant footfall outside the bedroom window as tourist walked past to go to the baths & traffic at all hours. Although the bed was clean, the bathroom was v dated & tired & the floors were dirty. Breakfast was adequate but you were handed your allotted breakfast allowance on plates rather than choosing your own from a selection of fruits, breads etc on a communal table as usual in most hotels . For example fruit salad was served in a small glass ( drinking variety) which was a small chunk of banana, slice of kiwi, chunk of pineapple & 1 of melon topped off with 1 strawberry! Every portion given to us was tiny! We checked out after 1 night as we couldn’t face another night in that awful bedroom.

We liked the atmosphere of this small hotel. We were in a car, so the fact that the hotel is in a rustic area downhill from the Ronda gorge was a plus. A good breakfast was served in the pretty main room, or outside in the charming garden. There are lots of maps and guide books for hikers in beautiful Grazalema Nat'l Park and Ronda environs. Comfortable beds. Christian and his assistant are good hosts.

We stayed in 1 star to 4 star accommodations throughout Spain..and my wife and I both agree that this was our favourite. The couple who run it know what they are doing. It has a great vibe and the staff are really nice. We had a little patio..and although being a bit chilly (there was a blanket available)..we got glasses of wine from the lobby and sat out watching the sheep and horses. Perfect relaxation after a roadtrip. Ronda is a short stair climb..but very manageable. Parking just outside. I recommend it highly. The Pileta caves are close by car..and the Caminito Real is about an hour away. Get reservations for both..recommend both highly as well. Highlights of our trip. Loved Ronda..especially at night after the tour groups head home.

The Alavera de los Banos was wonderful! The room was clean and overlooked the swimming pool and gardens of flowers and pomegranate trees. There are horses in the view as well. The staff was super welcoming and lovely. The common areas are inviting and we felt like we were staying in a villa! The bed was comfortable, and the shower was strong. The breakfast was an absolute treat of fresh fruit, assorted cheeses, breads, coffee, juice, omelets, pastry. The staff was friendly and pleasant. The only mistake we made was not staying longer! We look forward to coming back to this amazing boutique hotel in the future!!

We loved our 2 night stay at this hotel. The breakfast in the garden was lovely and we enjoyed use of the honour bar in the evening. As it is down a hill (beside the Arab baths), it is very quiet - which we appreciated as there was a festival on in the old town that would have been quiet noisy. We didn't mind the walk up the hill into town. The bed was very comfortable and we had a lovely terrace. We enjoyed the pool to cool off in the heat of the day. There was an enclosed parking area, which was nice (ask when you get there), otherwise there is parking on the road. We would happily stay here again.

We loved Ronda and we loved Alavera de los Banos. Lovely, quaint boutique that's more like a B&B than a hotel. The bathrooms are small but we expected that. We also understood the location and expected some walking, especially stairs which are an important part of Ronda's personality. The breakfast was lovely and the service exceptional. Thank you!

Charming quiet little hotel. Very pretty gardens. Our room had a nice little sitting room and outdoor private patio. They had a small pool, but we didn't swim. The water seemed a bit cool. Breakfast in the garden was lovely with fresh fruit, bread, cold meats and cheese plus home style jams and little pastries. Staff were friendly and nice. We had a car so were happy it had parking and was just on the edge of the old town although that did mean a 10 minute walk uphill into town...but that's downhill on the way back!

Staying at this hotel just made me happy! Beautiful style, calm, lovely area to relax in, beautiful hospitality, wonderful breakfast, great pool. It’s just a very lovely place to stay and i thoroughly recommend it. It feels authentically Spanish and is extremely welcoming. Just stay there!
