Room was very disappointing. We thought we would be staying in the original hotel building however our room was in an additional newer building down the road. The room has a poor layout, furniture was worn, carpet was dirty, curtain rail rusting, poor tiling and painting. Did not have the historic special feeling we expected. Photos looked 4 stars, room looked 1 star in the flesh. The room was expensive compared to other options in town. We couldn't believe it and wanted to cancel our 2nd night. Staff were great but the room was not what we wanted

I love this hotel. To be honest, I didn’t expect much when it comes to old and vintage hotel. But when I entered the hotel, I found the hotel is quite special and unique. Yes, it’s old and vintage but it is also well-maintained. For the room, I like it because it has big windows including bathroom and the sunshine can get through. For the location, I like it because it is so close to the central bus stop, Eatery Streets and Polynesian Spa. Because I don’t drive so location is very important to me. Like many other places in NZ, this hotel seems to be short staffed too. But the staff still did the best to serve. They are nice and friendly. I wish I could stay in the hotels for a few more couples and enjoyed the unique atmosphere there. I would stay again if ever I go to Rotorua.

Checked in. Went to room. It looked nothing like pictures. Two beds squeezed into a room. Old carpeting on floor. Musty smelling. We returned to front desk. Provided a different room with single queen as reservation stated. However it is still not the room pictured when reservation was made. Clearly, they have remodeled some but not all the rooms. Shower was very small and kitchenette appliances are old. No tv in bedroom and limited sockets. Cannot reccommend.

Situated in the center of town. Within walking distance to the lake and eat street. The suite has an old European charm.

I adore this hotel. Stayed twice in one month. Lovey old boutique feel (to hit with its history). Cosy in lobby with a glass of wine on the leather couch in front of the fire place. Love the fact it has hot pools on site. 2-3min walk to Eat Street

A lovely old, well preserved Hotel - like going back in history. Very helpful at reception. Only stayed overnight so didn’t use the restaurant.

Old and depressing...would have been nice to have a window in the damp room little room I paid for.!

Fortunately, the floor is super high, so it is not a place where the wife is busy. Book a room above the classic room level. The service is good. I booked a private bath for an hour. You can also soak in the public pool without reservation and without extra charge. Breakfast is not missing. The staff is great. The hotel is located in the city center, close to the Polynesian Spa, tourist centers, food streets, parks, etc. You don't have to worry about traveling if you don't rent a car. You have to pay to park outside the Zhengzheng Hotel, but it is free on the side, and there are only a few parking spaces inside the hotel. indivual. If you like the old British style, you can come and stay for a night or two.

The hotel is very historic and has its own hot spring. The double bedroom room I booked is elegantly decorated, spacious, and has wall heating, which is very comfortable. The breakfast is of good quality and has a rich selection.
