A really special place to stay in an amazing location. We spent a few days at the lodge in mid-October and had a wonderful time. The lodge has amazing character and history with lovely rooms and plenty of space to relax. Located in a lovely part of Russell the lodge has fantastic views and is an easy short work to the centre of town. Peter and Greg are awesome hosts, friendly and really want you to have the best time in Russell and the bay of islands. My personal highlight was the breakfast service. Well worth a stay alone.

What can I say other than this place is fantastic in every way. We received an excellent welcome to Arcadia by Peter. We loved that local wine that is available from the kitchen at close to vineyard prices. Also tea, coffee, other soft drinks and home made cookies were available for us to help ourselves when we returned from our day out. Our room Tautoru was nicely decorated and very comfortable with a small terrace for afternoon tea or enjoying an evening glass of wine. The breakfast was exceptional. Fresh fruits from the area and yogurt followed by Peter’s hot dish of the day. All were very tasty and served by Greg. Thank you Greg and Peter for being wonderful hosts.

We have just completed a six week tour of New Zealand, Arcadia Lodge was our first stop of many and we can honestly say it was the best. Peter and Greg are absolutely superb hosts and Peter’s breakfasts are something special. This first class accommodation is in an idyllic setting, conveniently located in Russell.

Peter and Greg go out of their way to give visitors a real sense of New Zealand and make guest feel spoilt and relaxed. The house is delightful, the rooms immaculate and the breakfasts delicious!

We had a wonderful stay at Arcadia Lodge. Greg & Peter were the perfect hosts. Our room had a beautiful view & was extremely clean. The delicious breakfasts were all made by Peter & every day was different. Greg served us brilliantly. The house is just gorgeous & so well maintained & gorgeously furnished. Great location & an easy walk into town & the beach. Hopefully we can have a return visit someday!

We loved our stay with Greg and Peter! Peter is a FABULOUS cook and made the best breakfast we had in all of the North Island!!! The BnB has been decorated and updated beautifully while still keeping some of the history of this great place. Walk to town really was 5-10 minutes at most. Local restaurants were varied and delicious. The view of the bay from our room was stunning! This little tourist town was beautiful and people were helpful and very friendly. We would definitely love to come back here. Our tour only had us here for two nights, and we wish it was at least four.

The bed and breakfast was period cottage with a magnificent view over the water. The cottage was extremely well decorated with period furniture and very clean. Our hosts Peter and Greg were delightful and extremely helpful with tips and what to do in Russell. Peters breakfasts were home cooked and served on the front deck with the view and were delicious. Can’t rate them highly enough and looking to return soon!
