We’ve just got back from our first ever glamping experience and it was absolutely amazing!! Before arriving I searched all over the net to try and find out what facilities there was, what the ground conditions were like etc.. but didn’t seem to come across any real useful information so thought I’d leave my honest opinion! To start with I just want to mention how amazing the staff were and how easy check-in was, to ordering our evening meal and the continental breakfast, couldn’t fault any of it. We decided to stay in a Bell tent, our tent was in the ‘lower field’ all accommodation in the lower field are on hard standing ground, all of the airstream buses and probably half if not more of the Bell tents are in the lower field, the toilet/shower block was a short walk away with 2 showers and 2 toilets, along with one toilet next to the reception/kitchen/cafe area, this all being less than a minute walk away. The car park was also right next to this for the lower field accommodation. The kitchen had plenty of fridges/freezer/kettles/hobs/microwave along with pots/pan and other cooking utensils. So very easy to bring your own food, cook and store there if you label them (labels provided). The evening food menu was mainly burgers and pizzas, also nachos and chips on the menu, which was very delicious! (Dessert too which we didn’t try) The bar also served soft and alcoholic drinks. The continental breakfast we was also very happy with! When arriving into our Bell tent we was presently surprised, it was clean and tidy, we was given a bag of wood and equipment to start the wood burner and also a box of wood again with fire starters for the outside fire pit! Extra can be purchased in reception but we didn’t need to for one night. There is one usb port in the tent, but plenty of plugs in the reception/cafe sitting area if needing to charge phones etc.. We had a walk up to to Top field, this was on a grassy slope, all the land pods were in the field, along with more Bell tents at the very top and the wild camping was along the bottom. The toilet/shower block was at the bottom of this field which I think had 3 showers and 2 toilets and a small washing up area, the distance from the Bell tents to the toilet/shower block seemed further than the Lower field ones. I could imagine in wet conditions this field gets quite muddy, the carpark was to the side so more of a walk to bring luggage to your accommodation. Overall I would 100% recommend staying at the Yha Eden project, my children didn’t want to leave! Perfect place for a little get away, we will definitely be returning!
