Novotel Nice Aeroport Cap 3000

Aéroport Nice Côte D'Azur
For several years(decades) our hotel for 1Woche Cote d'Azur, great breakfast restaurant terrace with neighbouring pool, huge shopping center nearby, dozens of restaurants walking accessible, Beach (including sand) in about 300 m distance with a lot of variation by view of landing aircraft, completed free parking, for Cote d'Azur super price-performance ratio. It is only the raging beach lockdowns (weather in the mountains, accidents) by the French authorities in recent years, but for that there is the great pool, this year for the first time with sunscreens! PS: Breakfast is better every year in contrast to the trend!

Aéroport Nice Côte D'Azur
I am currently staying a that the Holiday Inn Nice in order to make an early flight tomorrow. I chose this location for one night only for the convenience to the airport. However, as a self-proclaimed 4-star resort, I am very, very disappointed. I arrived at 1430 (check in is at 1500) and was told my room was not ready. Fine, I am early. I am happy to wait for 30 minutes. The front desk agent told me he would call me when it’s ready if I wanted to enjoy the area. I agreed. However, at 1600, no call so I decided to walk back. As I enter I see the agent leaving the hotel in street clothes—no call. I asked the new agent about my room and he had no idea he was to call me. He called housekeeping to verify if my room was ready and again, STILL not ready! I was asked to wait in the lobby until it was ready. If check in is at 1500, the room should be ready at 1500. I received no apology for their error. I reserved a Premium Queen Seaview at a cost of 400 Euros/night. The room is frankly gross. There are long hairs in the shower (I’m bald—not me!), mold growing around the tub, stains on the walls, and stains on the furnishings. I wish I could find a more profound way of describing the hotel other than gross, but I cannot. See my attached photos of the actual room. The lobby is deceiving. You walk into a remodeled, modern space and think , “nice, this will be a good stay.” But beware, as soon as you enter your room, it all goes downhill. Not only is the room gross, but there is not a coffee maker in the room, the shower products are empty, and they do not provide any lotion. Additionally for a 4-star resort, I would expect something more than paper cups in the room (glass cups and a wine opener, perhaps?). The hotel markets having a free airport shuttle. However, the shuttle does not run convenient to flight departures, so I have to pay 40 euros for a 4 minute ride to the airport. Again, disappointing. Lastly, the hotel provides free access to the Bay Star Beach Club (owned by the hotel it seems). I was excited to check out the beach on my last night in France. However, the beach club is very small with extremely dated (and dirty) furniture. Smoking was supposedly not allowed, but guests were smoking everywhere and staff did not interject. The provided towels have holes and are stained. It was very unpleasant. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel is ANYONE! There are many more hotels by the airport at 50% less cost. Avoid at all costs!

Good: Appartment ok. Clean. We were lucky to be able to access the appartment earlier than check-in hours. Beds quite comfortable. Quite nice balcony. Free parking. The residence has a pool, which is good. It is also situated close to the beach. Less good: Appartment poorly equipped. Pool area not very cosy but functional. Wi-fi practically non-existing, very bad speed. Bad smell from the basin in the bathroom
