Had a one night stay. It’s the kind of hotel we really enjoy staying: boutique, friendly, quality but unpretentious. It’s situated right by the harbour where you can get an hourly ferry to Falmouth (20 min journey) or a water taxi to the other side of the river. Our room was small but very clean and well appointed with a coffee making machine and fresh milk in the small fridge ( that’s a big tick for me) and towelling robes. Our room overlooked the harbour and river and the views and atmosphere were really fab. However, given the premium price of the hotel I would have expected the room to have a modern smart TV with access to iPlayer and other streaming services which we could access using our subscription logins. There is a downstairs bar where you check in. In the first floor is a lovely lounge/ dining area with fab views. We had dinner there but the menu is very limited and on the night we were there the service was very slow. The breakfast however was really excellent : everything was top quality such as the yogurts, eggs Benedict, bacon rolls and the almond croissant was the best I’ve tasted. Thank you for our lovely stay.

The team at St Mawes were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. Our room was gorgeous, the bed was huge and comfy. We enjoyed excellent cooked Cornish breakfast each morning overlooking the little harbour. We brought our dog and ate in the dining area on the ground floor which was very relaxed. Thank you

The St Mawes Hotel is well located in this pleasant village, being close to the ferry to Falmouth and a shortish walk to the castle. We dropped in for some drinks prior to returning to Falmouth on the boat. I was mortified to be charged £19 for a pint of Doombar and a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc. This eclipsed even Central London for exorbitance. The same drinks cost between £12 - £15 in other Cornish venues. We were going to have a couple more drinks there, but needless to say, we drank up and departed.

After getting out of the taxi, my daughter, her pug Ruby, and I walked into the bar with our luggage. Milly quickly checked us in, grabbed our luggage and escorted us to our big, beautiful room. From that first friendly impression, we were smitten. Meals in the downstairs cafe/ bar overlooking the sea were delicious. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Milly who stopped to chat and ask us about Ruby every day. We had a marvellous time and can't wait to return.

We stayed for 3 nights in June. The staff were great throughout our stay . Breakfast was excellent - looking out over the estuary from the 1st floor. We also had dinner two nights out of 3 and it was also very good. Our room was modern , spotless and serviced everyday. There is no car parking at the hotel but the local council car park is a two minute walk away - £7 for each 24 hours . The hotel is also just a one minute walk from the harbour and ferry over to Falmouth. Overall a jolly nice place to stay in Cornwall.

We were down here for the week, had coffees and drinks most days, excellent. Staff excellent, we went one night for a meal, service good but found it odd we had to ask for plates for bread and olives. My husband had a pizza which he said was excellent, I decided to have Scallops and some Cornish potatoes. Potatoes were not cooked properly and too much salt on them. The Scallops looked great but yet again lots of salt, really disappointed as due to high blood pressure, I try to avoidlashings of salt. Keep the fish simple and the food would be great
