First the positives. Although the location wasn’t in the heart of Paris, it is conveniently located right next to a metro subway station that will take you wherever you want to go. Staff was kind. Room was very clean. However, I had some safety concerns during my stay. One was with our door. Although there was a safety lock on the door, there was no latch. This allowed entry into the door either via our room key or housekeeping. Which meant, even if I was in the shower or a deep sleep, if I did not respond to housekeeping’s knock quickly enough, they could still let themselves in despite the safety lock being engaged. That is not okay with me. The hotel should really consider adding latches to the door. How do I know an extra key isn’t made and someone else could have let themselves in too, even with the safety lock engaged? Also, although there is a room key scan on the elevators, it never required me to scan my key to get to my floor, even during later hours. What is the purpose of this feature in the elevator if it is not used for safety? So these are some things I would want patrons to consider if looking to book here, especially if you are a traveling solo female. Thankfully I was with my husband. Had I been solo, I probably would have moved to a different hotel because these things made me nervous. Also, the morning I checked out, the fire alarm went off. So we all gathered outside until the front desk clerk turned it off after some time, and told us it was a false alarm. However the fire department never showed up to confirm or give the all clear. I am not sure if this is the norm in France, but being from the US, this is how we are used to the all clear being given. So I feel that was another safety issue.
