We had two servers that were very gracious and courteous during our week stay, Tracy Ann and Steve. All of the front desk staff were courteous and helpful, and demonstrated wonderful hospitality to all their guests.

We enjoyed everything about this historic hotel: the room, the lobby chock full of art and references to its speak-easy past, the pastry shop, the bar, the comfy, covered front porch, the pool and fountains, food and drinks served poolside, the friendly staff, and the friendly guests we met. Also, the Hollander is perfectly located in St. Pete, being in the historic downtown district near my company headquarters and close to great destinations such as the Salvador Dali museum, Chihuly blown-glass gallery, and Morean arts center. I love historic downtowns and boutique hotels such as the Hollander. The rooms in historic hotels are often smaller than ones in chain hotels, but they more than compensate with their unique personalities and intimate atmospheres, which leave me with vivid memories of my stays in these sweet lodgings and the cities they call home.

From the instant we arrived at the Avalon Hotel, we were made to feel right at home. Super friendly, helpful and genuinely nice front desk staff are the best first impression. Speaking of helpful, Jeff and Alicia in particular were over-the-top accommodating, firstly allowing us a late checkout, and secondly storing our bags until it was actually time for us to leave. Many more terrific things to mention: The beds were super comfy! Wine and champagne tasting in the evening! Access to the Hollander Hotel’s pool (huuuuge bonus) Access to the Hollander Hotel’s FREE shuttle (which was PERFECT for drop off and pick up at Tropicana Field) When (and it will be when) we return to St. Petersburg, the Avalon Hotel will be our home away from home!

I've attended events here in the past, but last night was my first time staying there. The property is dated, but renovation work is in process. My room had a new bed and updated bathroom, as well as a large flat screen TV. What really stood out to me was the service, including the front desk staff helping with a local restaurant list, a housekeeper directing me to my room (weird room numbers), an engineer quickly helping with a business center printing issue, and Jesus in the restaurant making sure we had a nice breakfast. I look forward to staying again and seeing additional improvements.

Front desk staff very friendly. Booked a king room and was given double beds. In order to get the room we booked, we would have been split up with others we were with ( which had king beds too) Disappointed we would be inconvenienced when that's what we originally booked and paid for. We were offered $20 valet fee waived. Room was dated and very basic. Didn't even have a counter on sink to do hair and get ready or hold a hair brush. Some outlets didn't work. Very disappointed in room. So many reasons I've had better experience across country w cheap hotels in better shape! Very high homeless area as well had to call desk 1st thing one knocking on my door! The bedding was hideous, stains, hair ick! Mattress was disgusting like a homeless shanty u would find. Very few towels 1 roll of cheap toilet paper, grimy lamps, wall sockets seperated from wall n dangerous (please dnt bring your kids there!), bathroom rusty grout missing, refridge bad shape didnt work well, horrifying curtains & shower curtain a stained mess, mirrors yellow frm smoke (its all no smoking!), bathrm bulb missing, damaged shower tile fixtures rusty, curtain rod very rusted, blind was horrifying on one window, debris behind furniture, crappy thin pillows, toilet lid slid needs repair n pink bacteria evident, NOISY next to a late night gyro drive-thru (dnt eat that kind of food). Over-all very unsatisfied would NEVER stay there again. Place empty n herd mentallity placing people on top of ea other when not necessary!!! BUG IN BED W ME CK PIC BIT MY LEG!!? AVOID AT ALL COST.

Our room was small but adequate. The paint was chipped in spots and the floor could use a new finish. The shower did not work. The light over the bathroom sink did not work. The shower curtain needed to be re-hung. Not serious matters for us but they detracted from the experience. But the bed was comfortable and I had a good night’s sleep once the street noise quieted down.

We stayed here for 2 nights and had 3 rooms. This holiday inn is a little different in that it has a restaurant with made to order breakfasts. They give you 2 adult breakfasts per room and kids under 18 get free breakfasts. We did add the breakfast option on to our rooms and it was nice. There were not a lot of people at breakfast ever so we got very good service and good food. The portions were good as well. My compliments to the breakfast staff as they were all very friendly and the food was decent. The rooms have large TVs, microwaves, and frigs. Our frig was loud and we had a cooler so we unplugged ours. The beds and pillows were comfortable for us. Somewhere On the IHG site it said the hotel was new. That may not be accurate at this point but it’s in decent condition. The pool area is nice and nicer then most holiday inns. There is a small fitness room but the equipment all seemed to be in working order. It seems like a lot of workers stay in the hotel based on all the work trucks. This was not an issue for us and noise was not too much of an issue. The hotel was centrally located for us. We did a dolphin tour at Hubbards Marina at John’s Pass and enjoyed it. We also went to a Tarpon Springs and enjoyed that as well. The front desk staff were nice and helpful. Check in took some time just because there were a couple of people ahead of us.

The Prince de Leon is a charming hotel nicely located in the heart of St. Petersburg. The staff was courteous and helpful. Restaurants are nearby. The price was ok. Now the hotel is showing it’s age. Our room was small but adequate. The paint was chipped in spots and the floor could use a new finish. The shower did not work. The light over the bathroom sink did not work. The shower curtain needed to be re-hung. Not serious matters for us but they detracted from the experience. But the bed was comfortable and I had a good night’s sleep once the street noise quieted down.

Front desk staff very friendly. Booked a king room and was given double beds. In order to get the room we booked, we would have been split up with others we were with ( which had king beds too) Disappointed we would be inconvenienced when that's what we originally booked and paid for. We were offered $20 valet fee waived. Room was dated and very basic. Didn't even have a counter on sink to do hair and get ready or hold a hair brush. Some outlets didn't work. From the instant we arrived at the Avalon Hotel, we were made to feel right at home. Super friendly, helpful and genuinely nice front desk staff are the best first impression. Speaking of helpful, Jeff and Alicia in particular were over-the-top accommodating, firstly allowing us a late checkout, and secondly storing our bags until it was actually time for us to leave. Many more terrific things to mention: The beds were super comfy! Wine and champagne tasting in the evening! Access to the Hollander Hotel’s pool (huuuuge bonus) Access to the Hollander Hotel’s FREE shuttle (which was PERFECT for drop off and pick up at Tropicana Field) When (and it will be when) we return to St. Petersburg, the Avalon Hotel will be our home away from home!

Very disappointed in room. So many reasons I've had better experience across country w cheap hotels in better shape! Very high homeless area as well had to call desk 1st thing one knocking on my door! The bedding was hideous, stains, hair ick! Mattress was disgusting like a homeless shanty u would find. Very few towels 1 roll of cheap toilet paper, grimy lamps, wall sockets seperated from wall n dangerous (please dnt bring your kids there!), bathroom rusty grout missing, refridge bad shape didnt work well, horrifying curtains & shower curtain a stained mess, mirrors yellow frm smoke (its all no smoking!), bathrm bulb missing, damaged shower tile fixtures rusty, curtain rod very rusted, blind was horrifying on one window, debris behind furniture, crappy thin pillows, toilet lid slid needs repair n pink bacteria evident, NOISY next to a late night gyro drive-thru (dnt eat that kind of food). Over-all very unsatisfied would NEVER stay there again. Place empty n herd mentallity placing people on top of ea other when not necessary!!! BUG IN BED W ME CK PIC BIT MY LEG!!? AVOID AT ALL COST.

We enjoyed everything about this historic hotel: the room, the lobby chock full of art and references to its speak-easy past, the pastry shop, the bar, the comfy, covered front porch, the pool and fountains, food and drinks served poolside, the friendly staff, and the friendly guests we met. Also, the Hollander is perfectly located in St. Pete, being in the historic downtown district near my company headquarters and close to great destinations such as the Salvador Dali museum, Chihuly blown-glass gallery, and Morean arts center. I love historic downtowns and boutique hotels such as the Hollander. The rooms in historic hotels are often smaller than ones in chain hotels, but they more than compensate with their unique personalities and intimate atmospheres, which leave me with vivid memories of my stays in these sweet lodgings and the cities they call home.

Great hotel, one of the best!!!! As a Lifetime Diamond I find very few hotels that meet the level of service and ambiance that this Hilton has to offer!!! We had two servers that were very gracious and courteous during our week stay, Tracy Ann and Steve. All of the front desk staff were courteous and helpful, and demonstrated wonderful hospitality to all their guests.
