"I feel the need to post a review in response to the ludicrous negativity of some of my countrymen. If you want All Inclusive where your behaviour hits the debauched level of drinking all day and all night, and eating an obscene amount of food until you can’t move, go to Benidorm or somewhere else. This hotel is lovely, all the better for Brits being very much the minority. It’s in a lovely location, you can get the 21 or 8 bus into St Raphael, or walk as it’s only 2.5 miles. In the other direction is Le Dremond with its few restaurants and bars. Let’s be honest, it’s quiet here and if you want lively, go elsewhere. There’s very little nearby but enough to have a nice holiday. It’s very never been anywhere where bed and breakfast includes lunch! And wine!!! And we are veggies and ate really well. The staff are lovely, the pools excellent, and the various small, secluded beaches a delight. St Raphael is amazing and Cannes, Nice, Marseille, even Monaco are easily accessible in the train. Rooms are functional but clean with superb air conditioning. Totally loved it but come with the correct attitude. Oh and if you come in July, it’s going to be hot."

"My experience began with a less-than-ideal introduction to my room. I was not provided with any information regarding the facilities or the location of amenities such as the gym or the safe. Moreover, I found myself in a room that lacked the desired privacy, as it was situated near the main pool and restaurant. This proximity led to frequent disturbances from passersby throughout the day and night. While a potential room swap was offered, the manager was unable to find me that morning. When we finally spoke in the evening, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and no alternative rooms were available. She said that there may be another room available, but only on day before my scheduled check-out, rendering any potential solutions ineffective. The bed in my room was supposed to be King-size. However, I was disappointed to find that they had simply pushed two single beds together, resulting in an uncomfortable gap down the middle. Additionally, while I appreciate the traditional and quintessential old French style of the hotel, I found the room to be tired, dingy, and not particularly clean. Inconvenience continued as we had to personally visit reception for even the smallest requests, such as shower gel which was not replenished on one day and room service, due to the lack of a functioning phone in our room. Additionally, a concerning issue arose with a flying ant infestation in our bathroom. Enduring ants crawling on one's leg while using the toilet is far from a luxurious experience. Furthermore, I discovered that the hotel charges a 50% markup on cigarettes without a reasonable explanation. When I inquired about this, the receptionist simply stated that it was an instruction from their supervisor. Although the breakfast offered was satisfactory, I found it to be monotonous, with the same food served each morning in the buffet. On the upside, the view from the hotel was breath taking, providing a serene atmosphere and stunning vistas of the sea. To their credit, I appreciated the manager's kindness and apologetic demeanour regarding the issues faced during my stay. In an attempt to make amends, I was offered a complimentary glass of rosé. However, while this gesture was appreciated, it did not adequately compensate for the various shortcomings. Unfortunately, I feel that spending around £2500 for 3 nights at La villa Mauresque proved to be a regrettable use of my funds. I have had the opportunity to stay in far superior accommodations at a more reasonable cost."

"Hotel is situated in a perfect position right on the seafront and with easy access to the town. Private parking is limited, costing 15€ per day, but we were lucky to have a parking space right in front of the hotel for our complete stay. Rooms are clean and tidy with all facilities that we required, the bed was super comfortable. All the staff were professional, friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay at this hotel for our future visits."

"Hidden Gem in the hills! Stunning honey moon stay. We arrived to a lovely French woman who showed us to our room with a large bath. The decor is clean and magical. Very boutique like! The pool is super close to all the rooms. Clean and warm. The bar lady at the pool was very friendly and made us cocktails to drink in the sunshine. Breakfast was a huge hit with lots of pastries, fresh eggs, cereals and meats. The staff were very kind and friendly. We loved our stay and we were able to charge our car up too. Would 100% return and have recommended to all family and friends! Thank you!"

"Very disappointing for a so-called 4 stars The hotel is clearly located in Saint-Raphaël, but it's the only positive point. The frame is very old, nothing to do with the photos that give an impression of modernity. In fact, everything seems to date from another era: old furniture, outdated decoration, bathroom of another time (hospital type plastic dust, other age shower pad...). The room is small, without the comfort you expect from a 4 star, rather the level of a 3 star, or even less. Only the shower pressure is correct, but it's the only thing that reminds a “normal” shower. And above all, attention to the cathedral right next door: the clocks sound very early in the morning, then at every hour for several minutes."

"My partner and I stayed at La Réserve Estérel for my birthday and it was exceptional! From the food and service to the room and the view- it was amazing! The hotel took such good care of us and supported us with any queries and bookings we had (especially since we don’t speak much French, they were very helpful in making reservations on our behalf). Every part of the stay from start to finish we felt so looked after by all of the accommodating staff. The friendliness and smiles from everyone made it truly special. The location of the hotel itself is excellent, it’s not too far from the Saint-Raphael centre or Agay, both offering different options for things you may want to do! A massive thank you to the valets, reception team (Alex we thank for how attentive you were), the restaurant and bar (we loved meeting you Lyse and thank you for the great service) and the housekeeping team who kept our room fresh everyday! Everyone made our holiday so special and we look forward to hopefully seeing you all again and spending more time in the beautiful hotel and its surrounding area!"

"I stayed here for 4 nights in September 2023. It was mostly a positive experience. I found the room cute and comfortable, and I liked that it was a small establishment. The outdoor seating areas were also good, and I thought the price was reasonable. I thought the location was just OK. If you don’t have a car, there isn’t a huge amount to do nearby. The train station is a short walk away but I found the trains to be quite infrequent. The less good bits were that I heard quite a lot of noise while in my room (plumbing sounds, doors opening and closing, etc.). The checkin procedure is a little strange, and I had trouble with the wifi - I could only get it to work when sitting on the terrace. Also, the shower and toilet offer limited privacy - I was staying on my own, but it could be awkward if sharing with someone else."
