Stepping Stone Inn

My husband booked two nights at the Stepping Stone Inn as a present for my birthday back in January as I have always wanted to visit Salem. The trip was this past weekend and we had the absolute best time at the Stepping Stone Inn. For starters, Matt and Kelly are so kind and welcoming. They truly go above and beyond for their guests and we are so appreciative of their passion for making sure each person gets the best experience possible. Matt even included a winter decoration in our room to say happy belated birthday. Their love for Salem is evident and their recommendations for local food are incredible. We couldn't ask for better hosts! The Inn is extremely clean and is decorated so cutely. Our room was comfortable and you do not feel like you are staying at a hotel. The lnn's location is great and is truly in the center of Salem so we were able to walk to everything. Sonny, Clifford, and Bix (the Inn cats) are a great added bonus and Matt's homemade coffee is famous for a reason. We had a great trip and the Stepping Stone Inn is a big reason for that. We already can't wait to come back! If you are traveling to Salem, the Stepping Stone is the best!

Great accommodation, and Matt was incredibly helpful in planning our visit to Salem. We were in the uppermost two rooms, so the bathroom was a bit small, but otherwise it was a perfect place to stay the night during our visit. Appreciate Matt's availability and information resources!!

Absolute Best Location in Salem. Everything about this B&B was great. Super friendly and beautiful place. Although we were told the place was full we didn’t hear a sound from others. It was a few minutes from the City witch mall and the pedestrian shopping. Also within the same distance to the trolley stop (which I highly recommend). If you’re looking for a great experience then stay here.

A Beautiful Salem Stay We cannot thank Stepping Stone Inn enough for their hospitality during our stay in Salem! It's a beautiful, central location that is in easy walking distance to everything. The home is so cozy and welcoming, the house cats are cuddly, and Matt's coffee truly gets you ready for the day. Don't think hesitate - stay here on your visit to Salem because you won't regret it! An absolutely perfect experience at the Stepping Stone Inn. Matt and Kelly are wonderful and welcoming hosts! The accommodations are lovely, the decor is cozy, there are so many interesting things to look at on the walls and the tables, they have a lovely home and they make you feel at home. We were amazed that we could walk everywhere, the farthest walk was 15 minutes to one of the wharfs. We parked the car at the Inn and were off on foot. Visited Salem this October and stayed at the Stepping Stone Inn and loved this place. It's in a fantastic location and the owners, Matt & Kelly are amazing hosts, plus the 3 gorgeous cats. We stayed in the Salem room which is in the attic and it was perfectly charming. It was small and compact but had what we needed for our two night stay. The main kitchen and front room were always available for us to sit in if we wanted to and tea/coffee was laid on every morning, plus with takeaway cups. We had to book this well in advance for our October stay but it was worth it and when we visit Salem again (of which i'm certain we will} then i'll be making sure i book The Stepping Stone Inn.

My husband picked this location and he did an amazing job at booking! The owners are absolutely lovely. The house is literally right in the middle of everything. They have 2 cats that I fell in love with. The house is beautiful. The bed was comfy and they had coffee and packaged bars in the morning. There were numerous other guests on the same floor and I had no problem falling asleep. I am a Iight sleeper and hear everything. The alarm clock in our room even had a night function to turn the time totally off. I will say that our bathroom was tiny, but I expected it to be. I knocked the bodywash thing off the shower wall and will forever be embarrassed about that. The host was super nice about it when I told him, even though I felt tears welling up and was about to ball. Yay anxiety and need to people please. Him being all "it is ok and thanks for telling me" really did make me feel a lot better. Would totally recommend staying there. I know I will definitely hit them up the next time we head up there.

Run by the kindest people (and friendliest cats!) in all of Salem, and could not possibly be more centrally located! You can walk everywhere from here, and you have a front row seat to any events in the square - it's literally right across the street. Parking in Salem is at a premium, and we are driving a crew cab truck to make it even worse, but Matt went WELL above and beyond to make sure we got a great spot. Do note - it's a lovely old house, but like most old houses, it does have steps, and they are steep. Easily navigable, but being able to go up and down steps is a must. We really really enjoyed our hosts and our stay!
