Blaumar Hotel

I have stayed here before so I knew it was okay - I always choose wisely away from the main tourist area of Carlos Buïgas This hotel is located on the main road of Salou ; Passeig de Jaume 1 and opposite the beach. Upon arrival we could see the hotel had been refurbished. Our room was not ready so we left our cases and heads out for a walk. On return we went to our room and we were very pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the room. It was a junior suite style room The balcony was side view and looked over the pretty houses of Salou whilst to my right I could see the street of Calle Mayor and to the left I could see the sea. The only downside were the deckchair style chairs I could not use due to my bad back. Very comfortable bed and really lovely bathroom- brilliantly large shower. I booked room only but took breakfast and paid on site €12 euros per person and very good quality breakfast All in all u had a lovely stay and would return to stay in the Blsimar again

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff are fabulous, the rooms are large and clean and the location is perfect. This is a modern hotel with a pool close to the main promenade of Salou so easy for the beach. There are 2 main areas (the old town and 'the *****') for entertainment and food and the Blaumar is about half way between the two making it quieter. It's approx a 10 minute walk to either. Our room was cleaned daily and the rest of the hotel was spotless too. We were half board and both the breakfast and the dinner buffet were excellent. The hotel also has a tapas restaurant where we ate three times and the food was just superb (if you're a guest at the hotel you get 10% discount too). The food was a highlight of our stay. My partner has mobility difficulties yet found the hotel easy to get around - I understand all the rooms have a walk in shower rather than one over a bath. Location-wise it's a short walk to bus stops too for exploring the area.

The hotel was so clean and modern I loved the smell of the scent they had as soon as you walk in reception was really relaxing and reception staff were really friendly! Hotel room was huge and also really clean it was great for us as a family and my daughter had lots of space to play when we was up in the room, the beds were really comfy and we all had the best sleep every night during our stay I loved that it was a full queen size bed and not 2 single beds pushed together like most hotels. I wish we would have had a pool view as we didn’t have any view it was just the back street of the hotel. The restaurant was also lovely and the staff made us feel very welcome everytime we arrived, we was full board and the food was the usual buffet style some nights I couldn’t find anything I was keen on as it was a lot of fish also didn’t have much of a children’s option so my daughter lived of pasta and sauce for the fortnight but other than that it was fine. The fresh omelettes and pastries in the morning were really nice but we missed pork sausages!! The reason why I have given the review 3 stars was because of the entertainment and bar facilities On holiday we are used to more going on in the day and especially in the evening it didn’t really have any atmosphere at all and really let the hotel down We came to realise when we arrived that there was no mini disco for the children or evening entertainment only on Fridays and Saturdays and even on that night it wasn’t worth going to because it was late and our daughter (2) would be bored waiting for it to start with nothing else going on The hotel had so many families whilst we were staying and there could of been so much more the hotel could have done We usually like to go down dressed for the evening and have a drink in a bar or at the pool bar The hotel closed the pool area at 7pm with no access at all as they locked the door to that area and the children’s park The tapas restaurant attached to the hotel turned us a away as we didn’t want food so there was nowhere for us to go and relax with a drink whilst we waited for the restaurant to open which was a late time of 7:30pm This really did disappoint me and my family and did ***** away the holiday feeling for us We ended up having to leave the hotel every night when we would of preferred to spend more time in our hotel due to how nice everything else was Entertaining and atmosphere really lets down the hotel if it had these facilities then we would have had the perfect holiday

Room is clean and spacious with a separate bedroom with king size bed, nice size balcony, although room requires a lot of upkeep, loose door handles, jamming door to aparment (took 5 minutes every time opening wiggeling the key) plaster on wall falling off, door handle to bedroom doesnt close properly and handles loose so darent close the internal doors incase doesnt open. Other than well needed maintenance, really great location and perfect size! Would be good if was decorated same to match blaumar main hotel.

Have just returned from Salou on 23rd September 2023 and stayed at the Blaumar Hotel. The hotel is 4 star. The location is over the road to the beach. At the beach loungers and a parasol for 2 people for the day is €20. When in the water the depth does not change so not really deep and can go a little way out. Back to the Blaumar Hotel the rooms are big with nice balaconies over looking either the pool and beach if lucky. The hotel is half board with no all inclusive option available. The pool bar opens 11am - 7pm and closed at night. There is entertainment on a Friday and Saturday night for about 80 minutes. The pool is fresh water so naturally cold all the time, but when in the pool you become accustomed to it quickly. Not much activity outside for children during the day and nothing on an evening. The food is excellent and top quality and the restaurant gets busy at 8pm until 9pm and is quieter after this. On a morning busy time is 8.30 - 9.30am with a wide choice of foods including omelettes and pancakes made to order. Safety deposit box is €5 per day and pay the cost at the beginning of your holiday. The Wi-Fi is intermittent at times. There aren’t tea and coffee facilities but a kettle can be hired from the main reception. The staff are so friendly, helpful and work really hard, nothing is an inconvenience to them. The rooms are cleaned every day with fresh towels and bed linen. The hotel also offers and is easily accessible for disabled people or people with mobility issues. There is a large Michaelangelo supermarket just 5 minutes from the hotel which sells anything you need for your holiday. If required There is a pharmacy around 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. Highly recommended for food and drink: For tea and coffee Farggi is recommended 10-15 minute walk from the Blaumar. Terra mar seafood restaurant 10 minute walk from hotel Hi-cream ice cream parlour 5 minutes from hotel. For sports fans the Red Lion pub shows all the premier league matches and has an excellent atmosphere around 15-20 minute walk from hotel. The beach club chill out bar for cocktails and drinks located directly on the beach around 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. We had an excellent holiday and stay at Blaumar Hotel, please don’t believe all the negative reviews as we found the hotel completely the opposite, we would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning in the future
