Well, few of the reviews are correct. It was a dirty hotel and the staff pretended not to know anything. The mattresses were rock hard and every spring could be felt. The bed frame was a wooden plank with 4 legs. Poo stains in bed. Black mold everywhere. Lamps that didn't work. TV in the middle of the walking area at a height of 1.75, which caused me to hit my head hard several times. Toilet seat was worn, limescale all over the ceiling. Walls are nothing and it is extremely noisy. We could have become extremely ill if the air conditioning had been turned on because there is also mold there. I advise everyone against ever going to this hotel and I hope they get fined because they are playing with the health of their visitors. We will never come here again!!! 3 stars is complete nonsense, they don't even deserve 1 star!

Fantastic hotel. Close to bars, restaurants and beach. Staff are amazing and very helpful. Room cleaned daily with sheets and towels changed. Went room only so can't comment on food. Plenty room by pool with not too many sunbed hoggers, lol, Would definitely book again

I'm a teacher just back from Hotel St. Monica Playa with a school trip - I got food poisoning there form the restaurant - most likely from the pork stew, carved turkey ( which looked old and frazzled) or sliced kabab meat. Most of this was fairly inedible but I didn't feel it would do any harm. The hotel has hundreds of Kids -mostly Spanish groups running around uncontrolled and unsupervised - partying in their rooms which have wafer thin walls. We supervised our group at all times and patrolled corridors at bed time. We were the only group who did this. The night I was sick there were 4 kids in the room next to me going crazy till 3am. I asked reception for help in controlling the noise - he said he'd send someone but didn't bother. I also asked for paracetamol and they didn't have any. The pool closed at 6pm, meaning our pupils could not have a swim after their day trips. This is clearly deliberate as they know most of the groups are out during the day. The bar closed at midnight sharp. The vending machines were completely sold out of drinks - pupils had no access to water at night.

This hotel is basic but clean and food is nice, for the most part staff are lovely but there is one security guard who was incredibly rude towards guests, in particular the English speaking ones. 3 out of the four nights we stayed here as a group he was rude with no reason towards several members of our group. This is while there were Spanish groups who were quite rowdy and he made no comment towards them. It was incredibly disappointing to experience because apart from this one individual it would have been a lovely place to stay.

I am a widower I travel solo. I stayed in 2022 in a room overlooking the pool. As there are mostly Spanish visitors there is absolutely NO rowdiness. They have parties of school children who are incredibly well behaved. My room this time in 2024 was on the top floor with a two metre high balcony wall so not as pleasant as on my first visit. There is plenty of food choice with Spanish style flavours, I enjoyed every single meal. Beds are fine, 5 minutes to the fountain and beach. No negatives from me, well done Santa Monica.
